Matinloc Resort is a wonderful experience for any traveler. The location is picture perfect on Matinloc Island and the staff provides snorkeling and kayaking equipment at no extra charge to explore the surrounding ocean. You have a choice of beachfront suites, mountain view suites, and junior suites further into the resort. A spa, game room, library, and small weight room is available as well. While here, you should know that you are somewhat secluded on the island. There are only a few boat transfers each day to El Nido, the town back on the main island of Palawan, and all guests must be back on the island using the 5pm boat transfer from El Nido (coast guard restrictions). WiFi and cable tv do not work well, but the front desk has movies to keep guests entertained during rainy days. The food is buffet style and honestly isn't very good for a luxury resort, which is one of the bigger disappointments. Matinloc does not provide alcohol, however you are free to BYO as much as you would like with no charge. There are several excursions that leave directly from the dock. Overall, Matinloc is a beautiful resort that is sure to please, albeit with a few subpar attributes.

Great breakfast. Loved the staff. Resort very nice and clean

Great place. Great staff. Would come back again for sure!

We found this resort on Orbitz.com when we discovered the El Nido resorts were sold out on nov28th to dec1st. 3 of us were in the family suite (1 king + 2 double beds) and we paid $1800 total for 3 nights ($200 per person per night). For that amount, we got a really spacious room with heavenly beds and pillows, ala carte breakfast + bottled water each day, spotty wifi in the room, and roundtrip boat transfer from El Nido beach hotel in town. They charged us extra 250 pesos per person each way from El Nido airport to El Nido beach hotel. Why oh why couldn't they include the 10minute van transfer from the airport??? Pros: Shower in the room consistently had really strong pressure, they provided Molton Brown toiletries, housekeeping was on point: supplies were replenished daily and they cleaned off the sand right outside our room twice a day it seemed, kayak rental and snorkel gear was included, "secret beach" was a kayak ride away, staff members Ryan, Jason, Dondon & Tata took great care of us and made sure we were ok and safe; the infinity pool with a view of the island is GORGEOUS! Cons: there is no alcohol and they do not serve pork (except bacon) because of the owners religious beliefs; they need to install extra towel racks in the bathroom or at least provide a retractable clothesline to hang and dry wet bathing suits; there is no night entertainment, the highly priced lunch and dinner menu is limited and we were really disappointed with the small portions, the tour pri
