Very child friendly and staterooms were by
Geri from USA Sailing date: Dec 2006Pros: Children's program. The only reason I would take this cruise line again is because of the children's program (3-5 yr olds). My family has traveled on Celebrity and Princess and this program was by far the best. And if the children are happy, the parents and grandparents are happy. Entertainment & Activities
Entertainment: The Ice chow was the hit. 19 out of 20 people found this review helpful.

  Quality entertainment, good experience by
Linda L from Carlisle, PA Sailing date: Feb 2012Pros: many venues for activities & space to relax away from the crowd Cons: boarding process inefficient Ship is well designed, lots to do day & night, great entertainment in theater, lounges. Loved the game shows hosted by ship staff. Do not appreciate all the "extra" costs when the price of the cruise is high enough to cover some of these items. Specialty restaurants that require payment for meals are a big negative. The other dining venues provide lots of variety and My Time dining covers those folks who do not like to be seated at specific times. Of course, My Time dining also costs extra. Do not appreciate that water and soda have to be purchased & no alcohol can be brought onto the ship. Inability to have a mixed drink or beer in cabin/balcony removed a great deal of enjoyment and use of balcony. You can sit on balcony but can't have an alcoholic drink while enjoying your space. It takes awhile to go to bar, get drink, and get all the way back to your room. We rarely drink alcohol but vacation is one time I like to have a daily drink & relax on balcony after a day of activities. We may not cruise again based on these negatives. Cost of cruise is high enough to cover at least water & soda. (free water, lemonade & tea available at 2 locations in open cups-no lids) We felt we were being charged all the time for something which removed some of the pleasures of cruising. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodThe food was excellent and we were very pleased with offerings in the Windjammer and LaBoheme dining room but as noted above, do not appreciate the extra costs of My Time Dining and Specialty restaurants. These restaurants were empty most of the week until everyone was trying to use coupons at end of week. We never used our Orbitz Specialty Dinner coupon. Stateroom QualityLots of storage, 3 Suitcases even fit on closet floor of our balcony stateroom. Ship Staff QualityVery energetic entertainment team - wonderful. Stateroom attendants were good and dininig room team was excellent. Entertainment & ActivitiesThere were many good choices of activities on board. In fact, it was difficult to remember to relax away from the crowd - there always seemed to be something we wanted to do. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

  Great cruise by
Ken K. from Philadelphia, PA Sailing date: Jan 2012Pros: The staff was unbelievable - very freindly and helpful Cons: Getting off of the ship was fine but trying to get the transfer to the airport was horrible. The ship was laid out very well - the promanade deck was superb. The rooms had a lot of space to store clothes, etc. The food was excellent and the service was second to none. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodThe food was excellent and we had no problem finding good choices, but I would have liked a few more selections to choice from. Stateroom QualityA lot of storage and very comfortable bed. The shower was tight but usable. Ship Staff QualityEvery single staff member we encountered whether they were serving you or not was very friendly and helpful. Entertainment & ActivitiesGood shows and comfortable surroundings. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

  First Time Cruise by
Odilia V from Long Beach, CA Sailing date: Sep 2011Pros: Balcony Stateroom Cons: Paying high price for internet service, no internet service in stateroom I had a great vacation on the cruise. The ship had everything you could possible need and the entertainment and excursions were very well planned out. The customer service was outstanding. I only wish they had internet service in the stateroom and not just in the library. Also the fees for the service were very expensive. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodA big variety of great tasting food, the ambiance was upbeat and the service was wonderful. Ship Staff Quality

  A very complete ship by
A traveller from London Ontario Sailing date: Sep 2011Pros: staffing is excellent Cons: smoking is allowed in promenade The embarkation process was painless. Very quick to obtain our stateroom key and ship passes and we were on the gang plank in no time. This was also true when we disembarked 7 days later, it was all done in 15 minutes. The ship is in good shape with a nice variety of beverage and meal areas. A nice amount of activites were also on board. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodThe evening meals in the formal dining room were excellent with a good variety. The meals in the Windjammer informal area were adequate but lacked some imagination. The availability of fresh fruit was appreciated. Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & ActivitiesThe variety of entertainment was appreciated but difficult to remember what was going on when and where. It would be helpful if some screens containing ship's information were available around the ship. The ice skating show was terrific!

Dubrovnik, Croatiathe old town is a must as well as walking the walls of the old city. If you do this, bring water and a hat or umbrella to protect oneself from the sun and heat. One excursion availabe was seakayaking which was available either through the ship or on land. This activity appeared to be popular and would provide a wonderful Adriatic experience.
Koper, SloveniaWe opted for the bike excursion in this port which was excellent. The tour guide was very knowledgable about Koper's history and also was a very experienced bicyclist. The bikes were of above average quality for the types of roads .. The town of Koper is both old and new and very pretty setiting along the adriatice sea.
Don't Miss: biking. Ravenna, ItalyThe secrets of Ravenna was a waste of time unless you are or wish to be a student of mosaics. Finding a place to have lunch was difficult and perhaps would be advisable to return to ship for better value.
Venice, ItalyThe Doge palace and San Marco square is a must but after that it was nice to walk away form the crowded tourist area , over the Rialto Bridge and explore the quieter and less expensive streets of San Croce and San Paolo. The gellato is always a must!

  Lovin' Belize by
Chris R. from Thornton, CO Sailing date: Jan 2011Pros: Nice and classy ship and friendly crew Cons: inaccessibility to the Windjammer at night Well kept and well staffed. Very clean Ship QualityLack of accessibility to the food area during the night Dining/FoodNot overly impressed with food options. The evening meal dining was nice and several meals were very good. Desserts impressive Stateroom QualityStateroom was quite comfortable all amenties above acceptable. Except for the fact their was no robes supplied. Ship Staff QualityEveryone was very helpful and extremely friendly and always had a smile on their face. The entire crew was observed helping to keep the ship clean. We observed personnelly a officer of the crew busing tables. Liked how in the Windjammer instead of help yourself drinks, which you could do. Server would come up to you asking what you would like and served drinks. Entertainment & ActivitiesIce show was excellent. The couple of shows in La Sala Theater that we attended where not impressive except for the Vantreliquist. We attended Senergy band and enjoyed their music in Cleoptras Needle. Getting the Audience to participate. They would load up the dance floor nightly unfortunately the dance floor was too small.

Belize City, BelizeExtremely friendly. Must see San Pedro island. EXCELLENT snorkeling lots of fish and coral. We were able to snorkel and touch Sting rays that had 5ft wing span and nursing sharks.
Don't Miss: Snorkel at San Pedro and don't miss the flea market outside of the gates of the port. Its a kick alot of animated and friendly people. Cozumel, MexicoDon't waste your time at Explore Waterpark, very expensive and not impressive. The explanation of the park on the website is HIGHLY bloviated. Stalagtites and stalagmites are NOT real!!!! Caves are man made. Just an amusement park without rollercoasters. Ziplines are ok but not as exciting as we had imagined.
Don't Miss: If your gonna do Cozumel, hit the beaches. They are beautiful and we wish we would have spent our day there and shopping. Roatan (Isla Roatan), Bay Islands, HondurasDo not recommend the Jolly Roger Snorkeling trip. It was very expensive for what you got and there was trash floating in the ocean where we snorkeled as well as you saw alot of dead coral and not many fish. Clear water alot of floating debri.
Don't Miss: When shopping don't shop at the port walk out the gates, right outside you can get ALOT better deals and they will haggle. Inside were HIGH and set, no negotiation. 4 out of 5 people found this review helpful.

  Big ship, great time. by
Phil H from Katy, Tx Sailing date: Nov 2010Pros: Nice cabin with a balcony Cons: 15% gratuity added to everything, including a bottle of water from the mini-fridge. Overall, the trip was great. Most of the service was excellent. Ship was big and the people in the dining area did everything possible to accommodate my wife who has a wheat allergy. Very attentive to her needs. Ship Quality12 year old ship but has aged like a champion. Dining/FoodNothing to write home about here other than the accommodation to wife's food allergy. Food was good but not above average. Stateroom QualityNice superior ocean view cabin with balcony, loved it. Ship Staff QualityExceptional staff. They had the 10ft rule down to a tee. Always smiling and always helpful. The Cruise Director Casey was a hoot. Entertainment & ActivitiesLots to do

Belize City, BelizeAirboat in the marsh was okay,
Cozumel, MexicoWe did the Scoot Coupe ride and it was a blast. Would do it a hundred times over again. The east side of Cozumel is undeveloped and the beaches are pristine and the water is amazing, If this is a choice for your excursion, TAKE IT.
Roatan (Isla Roatan), Bay Islands, HondurasGumbalimba Preserve was nice and the beach was pretty. Above average excursion.

  A very nice Cruise by
Stuart S. from Houston Sailing date: Oct 2008Pros: RCCL did a nice job with the food and the service was great. The tours were also very nice at the various ports. They have getting people on/off the ship down to a science!! The wine package was nice and the prices are very reasonable. Cons: Hard to come up with any negatives. The ship was commissioned in 1999 and has been very well maintained. Ship Quality

Civitavecchia (Rome), ItalyWe have already been to Rome so we took the Bracciano Lake & Wine Tasting tour. It was good but not great. The scenery was very nice.
Livorno (Florence & Pisa), ItalyWe took the Wine Tasting in Tuscany tour. It was good but not great. The wine was only OK. The scenery was very nice.
Naples, ItalyWe took the Secrets of Pompeii & it's Wine tour. This was a great trip that's only available on certain RCCL cruises. It was very informative and the Mastroberardino winery was very nice.
Palermo, SicilyWe just walked around the commercial area for a few hours and then relaxed on the ship.
Villefranche-Sur-Mer, FranceWe took the Monte Carlo & Grand Casino tour which was very nice. Wear comfortable walking shoes because you will walk quite a bit on uphill/downhill walk ways.
