Take carnival by
Melanie R from Wisconsin Sailing date: Mar 2012Pros: Wait staff was nice and honest. Cons: Ship late to all pots making excursions shorter and no time for shopping! The ship tried to nickel and dime us to death. Wifi should be free at this level of the game. Pay for orange juice, pay for good drinking water, pay for a nice meal. Things that use to be included in cruising. Not sure if it's just Royal Carribean or if all cruise lines have lost their panache. Ship QualityShip was clean but old looking. Skating rink was a waste of space. Dining/FoodThe food at the beginning of the week was not good at all. Got better the closer we came to getting off the ship. Stateroom QualityRooms were a good size and clean. Everything looked dated and worn. Ship Staff QualityThe ship was changing over staff to go to Asia. Not friendly and not organized. Entertainment & ActivitiesSame old same old. Nothing new or exciting. Children's ProgramsAlways late. Felt rushed the entire vacation. 0 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

I would pass on this one. by
Karen W. from Wichita, KS. Sailing date: Jan 2011Pros: Staff was excellent Cons: WiFi not available, Limited balcony view I was very disappointed in this cruise. The view from the balcony was reduced by 30%, there is no in room WiFi (of course I wasn't told this until bought a $100 package), The WiFi is very unreliable and there is no help in the computer room. There weren't any inserts in the daily letters about shows or ports. I never did find a way to find out about the shows. And no chocolates at night turn down.
We are seniors and we don't snorkel, zip line, ride 4x4's etc. The tours for non athletic people are really, really poor. A total waste of time.
This ship and destinations are not up Royal Caribbean standards.

Entertainment & ActivitiesThe ship caste was the best I have seen. They had 4 major singers and they were great. And the back up cast was superb.

Cozumel, Mexico
George Town, Grand CaymanWe are sedentary and the the tour we took was awful.
Montego Bay, JamaicaWe went to Dunns Waterfall and I climbed up the falls to about half way and it was a lot of fun. But no one told us that we would be climbing in the water. Also have to have deck shoes - something else no one told us. But I had a blast. A long way to go.

  The Lawrence Welk Cruise by
Connie from Eureka Springs, AR Sailing date: Apr 2010Pros: The ports of call Cons: Too few activites for people under 75 I went on this cruise with my soon to be 21 year old daughter. This was a repositioning cruise, and for that reason there were a lot of days at sea. The majority of the passengers were so elderly that the cruise director had a "bling your scooter" parade. There was nothing for those of us of baby boomer ages and younger to do during those days at sea except to sun by the pool on days when weather permitted. On other days we did a lot of reading.
Internet is extremely slow and extremely expensive. Also, it can only be accessed in public areas. Of course the slow speed makes a lot more money for the cruise line.
Almost all activities were aimed at the super senior set.
Also, although my online ticket package stated that I could sign a waver for my daughter to consume beer and wine, which I did, she was given a child's ship pass and could not order anything other than soft drinks. This was even while in the Mediterranean where the legal age everywhere is 18.
The wait staff was great, but the food was mediocre at best. I've cruised Carnival and Norwegian and both had better dining options and a greater selection of food.
I thought that this wold be a great Transatlantic adventure, but was disappointed in the reality. Ship Quality

  My Worst Cruise by
Roland J from Fort Worth, TX. Sailing date: Apr 2010Pros: Excellent Ship, Excellent Crew! Cons: Entertainment Terrible! Intresting Activities Too Few! Boarding and Exit Horrible! The ship is well maintained, very clean, smooth ride even in rough watters. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodNot enough flexibility in selections. Did not have enough dining options or specialty dining at a reasonable price. Portafinos was over priced for what was offered. Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff QualityThe crew is what made this vacation bearable. Everyone did their best to aid passengers in every endeavor. Entertainment & ActivitiesJust plain Poor. 5 out of 7 people found this review helpful.

  POOR. by
Tom from Valencia, CA Sailing date: Dec 2006Pros: Its cabins. The ship is so large and noisy it is like spending a week at the Mall on Christmas Eve. Even the library on the ship is so noisy you cannot just relax and read a book. Entertainment & Activities

  Very nice cruise. by
Del F. from San Diego, CA Sailing date: Jan 2012Pros: Dining Room Food, (mostly) friendly staff, great ship, fun and clean entertainment Cons: Inflexible shedules, poor evening food and selection in Windjammer buffet, guest services lines. Huge ship but they handled the crowds well. Friendly and obliging staff with the exception of the guest services. Limited times they were open and always lines there. Often had broken English and hard to communicate. Never said they were sorry when they couldn't accommodate a request (although others of the staff did). Most egregious was when we told them we had to be sure we made our flight they told us we could either haul all of our own luggage through disembarkation or buy a Royal Caribbean Bus transter--which was more expensive and less convenient than a taxi! Ship Quality
Dining/FoodExcellent in dining room. Limited variety and quality in buffet. Stateroom Quality

  Great Anniversary Cruise! by
A Traveler from Kansas City Sailing date: Dec 2011Pros: Great staff, always made us feel special. Cons: Dining time availability. Getting a little dated. Probably due for an interior makeover. Still very clean and liveable. Great staff, excellent activity selection. Ship Quality

Big Ship, but Bad Food by
A Traveler from Revere, MA Sailing date: Dec 2011Pros: Big Ship, so no motion sickness at all Cons: food and waiters do not smile Recommend this ship if you worry about motion sickness on board. This Voyager of the Seas does not give you motion sickness at all.
It is big, so expect there is a huge crowd if you want to use elevator.
Food on board was ok. Every day they serve the same food. I think the only good food I got was a lobster meal on the 2nd to last night of the cruise.
You rarely see waiters smile.
Great spa service with sauna and steam rooms, but guess what? No comb or Qtips in the shower room.
Men's rooms smell.
The whole time I felt like I was on board, and that's all the cruise staff care. It's like "OK, I got your paid fare. Enjoy your stay. You're on your own".
Our Queen bed was a combine of 2 twin beds. When my wife and I lie in the middle of the bed, we got back pain in the morning.
Booked cruise with a promising promotion of 2 coupon booklets to spend on board. We received NONE. UNBELIEVABLE!
Not many activities to do on board.
Need to pay to rent movie. I wish this is FREE as I got from other cruise line.
TV has very limitted channels. There were like at least 3 versions of E! channel in 3 different language.
There was a channel that just displayed a plush bear for several days. I don't know what that purpose was.
There was a channel that talked about excursions, but everyday it just talked about excursions for all islands. It should know which islands the ship already passed by and stopped talking about excursions for that particular islands because it takes forever to wait for the right excursions to come up. Ship QualityLook luxury most of the part except for the men's rooms. They smell. Dining/FoodDidn't have a good variety of food. Cappuccino is not complimentary. Come on!
For Breakfast and lunch, everyday the same food was served.
Dinner's service was nice and friendly, but breakfast and lunch's served waiters did not look happy at all. My wife and I felt so uncomfortable. Stateroom QualityWas ok. Our queen size bed was a combination of 2 twin beds. When we lie in the middle, we get back pain tin the morning. This caused us to each slept on each side of the bed. Ship Staff QualityWas ok. This was our 2nd time on a cruise vacation. We are still learning. We were assigned to first seating for dinner. The Room staff did not go over clearly with us on this. Turned out, we came to the dinning room at 7:20pm on the first day, and guess what? We were denied for dinner. We were told that we were late and had to wait for the 2nd seating which started at 8pm. Entertainment & ActivitiesNot many activities. Same movies were screened for several days. 0 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

  Mixed emotions cruise by
Luis J. from Caguas, Puerto Rico Sailing date: Nov 2009Pros: Ports of call Cons: Claustrofobic environment in a five star maximum security jail We took this cruise because or the price and the ports of calls. We had been previously to Rome and Florence and wanted to visit again these beautiful cities. We did it...but at what a pace. There is nor enough time to enjoy the many attractions that both places have to offer.
The rest is old stale shows, food that try to pass as "gourmet" with little success and on board prices that make the savings disapear in the first 24 hours...!
Dissapointing! Ship QualityTo many people...! Dining/Food

Ship Staff QualityThomas (head waiter at the informal dining room) and Lorna that took care of our cabin, are excellent employees that deserve better working conditions! Entertainment & Activities

  Great get away by
Sherry R from Michigan Sailing date: Apr 2009Pros: Hospitality of cruise staff, food, variety of on board activities Cons: ports The ship was very clean, excellent helpful staff. Our children spent a lot of time on the basketball court, as well as playing volley ball and dodge ball. The ice rink is small, very small. The spa and fitness areas were great. Ship QualitySome areas were not well ventilated and seemed to be quite smoke filled, but there are plenty of non-smoking areas, however not all guests observed this. Dining/FoodExcellent variety. Well prepared and presented. Even in casual dining areas there were never any lines and our cruise was completely booked. Stateroom QualityThey are rather small but adequate. We didn't spend a lot of time in there anyway. Ship Staff Qualitysuper people! Entertainment & ActivitiesMost were very good. There was one act that seemed rather awful, and many other guests we spoke with thought the same. If they used their survey cards properly, that act will likely be removed from future bookings. Children's ProgramsWe had two teens with us that each have very different interests. They both came home very happy. Imagine that!
