Big ship, but not crowded. by
Megan from Fresno, CA Sailing date: Aug 2007Pros: The room attendant was extremely friendly and helpful. Good, at times we felt like we were the only ones on the ship. The best excursion was a canoe trip to the face of Mendenhall Glacier (Princess called it: Mendenhall Float Trip)! Dining/Food

Entertainment: The production shows were cheesy and dated, made for a MUCH older crowd. Children's Programs

Juneau, AlaskaDon't miss the canoe excursion!
Don't Miss: Mendenhall float trip. Ketchikan, AlaskaLots of eagles.
Skagway, AlaskaVery foggy at the top of the summit, all the towns begin to look the same at this point.
Garden City Highlights tour sucked, but to the top was good, especially the tour guide.
Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, AlaskaNice views.
We couldn't get very close ... 2 miles away.

Boris from Tarzana, CA Sailing date: Aug 2007Pros: Interior design.
Dining/FoodI wish they had not charged us for soft drinks/juices at dinnertime. This is really petty of them, considering that these drinks were free of charge for breakfast.
Stateroom QualityPublic announcements could not be heard in the stateroom.
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & ActivitiesActivities: There were only 4 pingpong tables for 2000 passengers; it was nearly impossible to get a chance to play.

Juneau, AlaskaWent to Mendhall glacier. Very intersting.
Don't Miss: Mendhall glacier. Ketchikan, AlaskaIt was fun? but when we were there it rained very hard? but at an area that gets 13 feet of rain a year it's to be expected.

Destination was great, service average. by
Heather from Philadelphia, PA Sailing date: Jun 2007Pros: Art gallery/art auction. I highly recommend this Alaskan cruise. The ship was very clean. The entertainment was fair, could have been more of a variety. The service was fair, no one gave fantastic service, but we've had worse, too. The room was spacious for a ship. The food was no better or no worse than the other cruises we've been on. All in all, it was a good time, nothing happened to make it a bad experience, and I would recommend this cruise. Juneau, AlaskaWhales!
We went whale watching, on a tour we arranged off the ship, not through the ship, for a great savings. It was well worth it! We spent 2 1/2 hours in Auke Bay and saw several whales and the bay is beautiful.
Ketchikan, AlaskaKetchikan was interesting.
There wasn't a whole lot to do here. Of course we went to Creek Street and we shopped. We did the walking tour of town, saw the lumberjack show, and shopped some more. We also visited the totem museum. If you don't have an excursion planned, or when it's over, there's not too much to do. It was an interesting place to visit, though, and beautiful.
Skagway, AlaskaRent a car in Skagway.
We rented a car and drove out into the Yukon, following the same route as the train goes, with better views, we went further then the train, and the car rental was less than half the price of what the train would have been. The scenery is just amazing. Make sure you drive all the way out to Emerald Lake.
Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, AlaskaAmazing
It was so beautiful. This is definately a must see! We were up on deck, bundled up, hot cocoa and cameras in hand. It's an experience that can't even be described properly and not even pictures can do it justice. Breathtaking!
