I was in the middle of somewhat satisfied and very satisfied. However, the overall experience was very good. Salmon hatchery was ok but the glacier trip was awesome! Don't Miss: Glacier. Ketchikan, Alaska Great shore excursion! We took a short trip on a boat. Totems & Eagles. Great wildlife! Definitely recommend! Don't Miss: Shore excursion to see the eagles. Skagway, Alaska Skagway was my favorite! Took the dog sledding camp excursion. Awesome! Don't Miss: Mushers Camp (Dog sledding). Other staff would remember us as well and made us feel at home. It's worth the drive to see the glacier and the surrounding area. Don't Miss: Mendenhall Glacier and Mount Robert's Tram. Ketchikan, Alaska History and culture. We really enjoyed the history and culture that we learned on the tour. Skagway, Alaska Train. The White Pass train ride is excellent. Don't Miss: Take the train excursion. Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska Beautiful scenery. Don't miss it. It's worth getting up early in the morning and enjoying this scenic cruise and don't think it's over when the ship turns around. Very intersting. Don't Miss: Mendhall glacier. Ketchikan, Alaska It was fun? but when we were there it rained very hard? but at an area that gets 13 feet of rain a year it's to be expected. Fun... saw the lumberjack show, good for kids. Skagway, Alaska Taking a bus to the summit is great. Wish we had taken the train? not to be missed. Don't Miss: Taking the train to the summit. We had a great time and would definitely do this again. Next time we will be sure to book shore excursions ahead of time. Ship Details: Dining/Food All of the food was very well prepared. Stateroom Quality Our state room was very nice. The steward was very meticulous in keeping our room clean at all times. Ship Staff Quality All of the ships employee's were extremely pleasant. Entertainment & Activities Entertainment: All of the shows and entertainers were top notch. Juneau was not my favorite place. I was very surprised by the cost of the tram ride. I live in the Pacific Northwest, the tram ride here is 4.00 each way. Don't Miss: The Mendenhall Glacier. Ketchikan, Alaska Ketchican was my favorite port. I loved the scenery and the people. Don't Miss: Creek street. Skagway, Alaska Incredible Skagway. Skagway was beautiful. The people in the national park museum were a wealth of information. I thought the price of the train was a bit steep but overall the train ride is a good way to see the surrounding area. I highly recommend this Alaskan cruise. The ship was very clean. The entertainment was fair, could have been more of a variety. The service was fair, no one gave fantastic service, but we've had worse, too. The room was spacious for a ship. The food was no better or no worse than the other cruises we've been on. All in all, it was a good time, nothing happened to make it a bad experience, and I would recommend this cruise. We went whale watching, on a tour we arranged off the ship, not through the ship, for a great savings. It was well worth it! We spent 2 1/2 hours in Auke Bay and saw several whales and the bay is beautiful. Ketchikan, Alaska Ketchikan was interesting. There wasn't a whole lot to do here. Of course we went to Creek Street and we shopped. We did the walking tour of town, saw the lumberjack show, and shopped some more. We also visited the totem museum. If you don't have an excursion planned, or when it's over, there's not too much to do. It was an interesting place to visit, though, and beautiful. Skagway, Alaska Rent a car in Skagway. We rented a car and drove out into the Yukon, following the same route as the train goes, with better views, we went further then the train, and the car rental was less than half the price of what the train would have been. The scenery is just amazing. Make sure you drive all the way out to Emerald Lake. Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska Amazing It was so beautiful. This is definately a must see! We were up on deck, bundled up, hot cocoa and cameras in hand. It's an experience that can't even be described properly and not even pictures can do it justice.
