The ship was more than we expected. It w by
Lovie from Fort Myers, FL Sailing date: Aug 2007Pros: It's common areas are very nice. The staff are excellent. We had a wonderful time. Side excursions available made it hard to choose, but all was better than expected. The naturalist and great entertainment were unexpected. The head chef gave a cooking lesson that was very fun. We didn't know what to expect since this was our first cruise, but we're both planning our next one already. Dining/FoodLovely wait staff, consistently good choices.
Stateroom QualityVery comfortable stateroom, but bed was not the best.
Ship Staff QualityAll staff incredibly gracious and accommodating.
Entertainment & ActivitiesActivities: Nice equipment, environment, great view off ship stern, no elliptical device.
Entertainment: The shows were high quality, onboard naturalist for Alaska commentary. Entertainment varied with comedy, pop, dancing, music, etc. Movies daily, lounges had good groups, also.

Juneau, AlaskaJuneau is beautiful.
We had a great day. The zip lining in the rainforest canopy was thrilling. Felt very safe with guides. We hiked up the trail from the north end of town to the top of the mountain behind the city. Great experience, unexpected treat on a well traveled trail (strenuous exercise). The evening whale watching excursion out of Auk bay area was high quality. Comfortable jet boat, binoculars, onboard naturalist, wonderful food and even the whales cooperated. We saw at least 12. Sealions dall porpoises, glaciers. Wonderful day!!!
Don't Miss: The zip lining is the best. The whale watch was a class production. ENJOY it all. Hike up the mountain and ride the cable car down. It's a beautiful hike. Ketchikan, AlaskaGreat!!
The back country jet boat excursion was well worth the day. From Samon Falls resort, the guide was a local filled with history and lore of the area.
Don't Miss: Nature. Skagway, AlaskaRemote nature hike at Haines is beautiful.
After a 30 min jet boat ride through the channel to Haines, where we saw whales and the native american captain and crew gave commentary about the area we met the naturalist guide we hiked through the forest with. The trail was easy and scenic. We came to a beautiful beach that we walked down to the point where we had a great sack lunch prepared with fresh salmon in a wrap. The scenery surrounding the area is breathtaking.
Don't Miss: Scenery. Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, AlaskaTracy Arm resembles the Norwegian fijords I remember from geography.
Breath taking views unparalled. Blue icebergs float by as the ship approaches the glacier. The steep mountains, trees waterfalls and snow topped peaks are gorgeous.

  Poor service. by
Reena from Seattle, WA Sailing date: Jun 2006Pros: The staff. I realized that I left something on board an hour after I disembarked. Although I knew exactly where it was they refused to call the ship and bring it to me. They claimed that it would be in the "lost and found" which they would only receive after the ship sailed. Entertainment & ActivitiesActivities: Very inflexible- would not allow me to mix yoga and pilates. Shows started too early for late diners.
Entertainment: We were in the second seating- the entertainment started too early. 4 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

Juneau, AlaskaJuneau.
Do NOT do Taste of Juneau...do another excursion. Spend your time at the Mendenhall glacier.
Don't Miss: Mendenhall glacier. Ketchikan, AlaskaKetchikan is a gateway to the Misty Fjords.
Go on the cruise/floatplane excursion without hesitation.
Skagway, AlaskaLocal excursion was excellent.
Do your own thing, take a local excursion rather than the ship's version.
Don't Miss: Local excursion. Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska
