A mediocre cruise! by A Traveler from Colorado
Sailing date: Feb 2012

Pros:
Being on vacation -

Cons:
the dining experience and hospitality experience

The ship was okay. I was not impressed with the Red Frog Pub - would rather have seen a nice martini bar with better menu.

The housekeeping staff never introduced themselves to us and the dining staff made us feel rushed. Both experiences in those departments were impersonal.

A great cruise by Carla S. from Denver, CO
Sailing date: Sep 2011

Pros:
Included many fantastic location

Cons:
The entertainment on the boat

Great ship, the staterooms are very functional and comfortable. The pool areas are nice, the workout facilities are great, the dining room is nice and the marketplace was very functional. Did not find the evening entertainment to be very good. Compared to other cruises I have been on, they really lacked on quality. Also the sound systems were very loud everywhere which became annoying..

My only complaint would be the coffee machines were often having issues and therefore long lines would develop. We decided room service was the best way to go to get coffee. That was perfect.

A wonderful cruise with a few exceptions by Debbie B from Texarkana, Texas
Sailing date: Sep 2011

Pros:
Cruise director, beauty of the ship, friendliness of staff

Cons:
ran out of water on days of shore excursions, lack of efficiency re shore excursions

Very beautiful ship. We had a major problem from the beginning. The Redfrog Pub was directly below our stateroom. HORRIBLE!!! Could hear the music, laughter, noise every night. I mean bass shaking the walls at times. I have already rebooked for another cruise on this ship so overall I did like it BUT even though they gave me a $691.00 credit toward price of the cruise, not enough for the inconvenience. When I rebooked, I made sure I was far away from the pub!!

Was unable to go to dining room because of late shore excursions BUT the Lido Marketplace was pretty good. In the buffet line at night, the food was hit and miss as far as temperature of food.

Great ports of call by A Traveler from Syracuse, NY
Sailing date: Jun 2011

Pros:
Venice

Cons:
Needed to book excursions through Carnival and there was little variety of food.

The Magic has the same layout as the other Carnival ships which is hard to get around and see everything easily. The nice thing about the ship was the decor. Everything is glass and very beautiful. Unfortunately the food was not that great. Weeks before this cruise we were on the Freedom in the Caribbean and the food was exactly the same as it was on the Magic. If you go to the sit down dinner the choices for dinner are not that great and the choices for dessert are even worse. The variety of entertainment on the ship at night was not the best. A note about some of the ports when you dock the main city is about an hour away and was necessary to book an excursion through the cruise which books up very fast.

GREAT CRUISE by A Traveler from texas
Sailing date: Mar 2013

Pros:
FOOD and friendly crew

Cons:
port times to short

We were in stateroom 1352 and our friends were in 1365 and 1367. We were told that we would be across the hall. We ended up on the opposite side of the ship. Starboard side staterooms are numbered odd, and port side are numbered even.

Wonderful first time experience by Michael F. from Houston, TX
Sailing date: Aug 2012

Pros:
The Staff was amazing.

Cons:
Exploring Jamaica outside of the excursion was a bit of a bust

Given the change I would most definitely go again. The staff really made this experience stellar, and there is never a dull moment on the the ship.

A Beautiful New Ship by A Traveler from Indiana
Sailing date: Apr 2012

Pros:
Lots to do

Cons:
Disembarkation was a bottleneck

We were impressed that we didn't feel crowded with so many passengers, though we're not sun worshippers who had to get up early to get a prime location...

Great trip! by SARAH N. from United States
Sailing date: Jan 2012

Pros:
The ship was beautiful & the staff was very friendly & helpful.

Cons:
Problems w/ the tenders in Grand Cayman & almost missed our flight home b/c Port of Galveston was closed due to fog & we didn't disembark until 2 pm.

We really enjoyed the ship. It had a lot of fun activities & some neat features we haven't seen on other ships, such as the Red Frog Pub & the ropes course.
