A very awesome experience by P. Thatcher from Payson, Utah
Sailing date: Jan 2012

Pros:
feeling pampered by the staff

Cons:
nothing not to like

The ship is beautiful, although we did find it hard to get around at times. More signage as to where we were and how to get to specific parts of the ship would be more helpful. I would however be delighted to take this ship again.

What an adventure! by Mike O from Salt Lake City, UT
Sailing date: Sep 2011

This was the best cruise I have ever been on! I highly recommend this ship to everyone I talk to. We sailed for my honeymoon and were treated fantastically. It couldn't have been better.

Fun and friendly! by Carriann L from Upland, CA
Sailing date: Jan 2012

Pros:
The service and attitude of the crew made the 4 sea days so enjoyable.

Cons:
I just wish there were more activities earlier in the evening.

My boyfriend and I just got home yesterday from our Mexican Riviera cruise on the Carnival Splendor and we realy enjoyed it. There were so many options for food all day long. THe crew was always smiling and many of them knew us by name by the second day. I have a few food allergies and the wait staff put in special orders for me each day and always checked with me, to see if everything was made just to my specifications. The amount of time in the ports of call was great. We were able to do everything we wanted in town and the beaches. This was my 10th cruise, first on Carnival and I really loved it!

First and last time With carnival by Keri w. from San diego, ca
Sailing date: Dec 2011

Pros:
Stanley at the comedy show

Cons:
Shows horrible, lines for everything , programs not upheld

There are too many negatives to write in such a small space; terrible shows, lines all the time, room service time over an hour with extremely slim choices, cold hot tubs , age restrictions never enforced on adult only areas, show admittance, babies in hot tub, preg teen in hot tub, our deck always smelled like raw sewage , spa aggressively pushed the buying purchase of items, casino drinks on us card a joke! Tried to get a diet coke multiple times and was told no cant get one but the push of alcohol was heavy- for 2 days playing at the casino after earning the card - still got refused a diet coke! Supervisor did nothing . Elegant dining??? What a joke- nothing special, no special amenities provided, people where not again held to regulations ie; in jeans, hats, flip flops etccc Just a tip of our experience! Never again will I waste my money on this cruise line! First time in 5 yrs to take a trip without out kids to actually enjoy and carnival failed miserably!!! Beyond disappointed

Had a wonderful and memorable time by Lisa A from Spokane, Wa.
Sailing date: Dec 2011

Pros:
The staff went out of their way to ensure you were having fun.

Cons:
One of the cashiers in the store was rude and refused to help.

Well, when people say it is pink....it is. The ship itself is well cared for and the art work was nice even though there was an abundance of pink. The staff was amazing and the food was abundant although not always good.

Mixed experience by A Traveler from Salt Lake City, Utah

Pros:
Our experiences at dinner. I liked our table mates and also loved the servers at dinner. They were the highlight of our experience with this cruise line.

Cons:
The noise level in our cabin was almost unbearable at night. (We were right above the band stand in the casino.) Had rude, inconsiderate neighbors. That probably isn't the fault of the cruise line, but it tells you about the demographic that chooses Carnival.

Spacious, clean accommodations. Lots of food, some of it good. Some friendly staff, some tired, disengaged staff. Music was TOO LOUD in most venues. It made the week somewhat unpleasant. Loved the Serenity deck and the Spa. Not many exercises classes to choose from. If you want to stay active on a cruise, this is not the best ship for that experience.

Very nice room. Spacious, loved the balcony. Did not like the location. (We were on Deck 6. Avoid it!) We were right above the band stand in the casino and there was extremely loud music playing until at least midnight or 12:30 am most nights. We basically gave up on trying to go to bed until after 12:30. I came back from the trip tired and grumpy instead of relaxed and refreshed because of the lack of sleep.

Ship Staff Quality
We had excellent waiters at dinner. They were the best. The woman at the coffee shop was friendly. The cleaning staff was not very friendly. They also just seemed exhausted and overworked. It seemed like all the help on the ship were just tired and overworked. They didn't seem happy so it was hard to pass on happiness/friendliness to guests. We did not like the cruise director's announcements or humor.

Entertainment & Activities
Again, a mixed bag. There were a couple of shows that were excellent, but a couple where the dancers were off and they were not well choreographed. Not much variety in the music. The volume was so loud in each venue, that it was almost an unpleasant experience. That was particularly true in the smaller venues on the ship.

Spend a week on the Spledor by A Traveler from United States
Sailing date: Oct 2011

Pros:
very relaxing week

Cons:
uneven volumes on shipboard tv service, and rather uncomfortable beds in our cabin.

Overall my wife and I enjoyed our recent cruise (23-Oct-11) on the Splendor. It was the second time we've taken this cruise and this ship together. The first was our Honeymoon and the most recent was for our anniversary. We did find our bed uncomfortable, but that is more likely due to the fact that we have a memory foam mattress at home and anything less feels pretty lousy.

Wonderful cruise by Laurentia A. from San Diego
Sailing date: Oct 2011

Everything was very good. I have only one request for the future cruises. The ship should have a weather news or some information about weather conditions.... We are back home and happy that we are not on the water or cruise ship this week....with this weather conditions. I hope that this nice ship will respect the no travel zone to Porto Vallarta and keep all the customers safe .

A decent cruise by A Traveler from San Francisco, CA
Sailing date: Sep 2011

Pros:
itinerary , easy disembarkation

Cons:
guest services, expensive alcohol, food

Ship Quality: tacky decor , very odd layout, crowded elevators, very loud. Dinning/Food: The food was extremely salty. I love salt but even for me was too much. The variety at breakfast was very poor: the same thing everyday. I had the feeling that they were 'recycling' dinner into breakfast. Lunch was okay but way too crowded. Dinner in the dining rooms could be a hit or a miss. I would not recommend ordering seafood from the menu. We tried lobster, fish and shrimp, and all of the dishes were pretty bad. I liked their steaks and chilled soups. Stateroom quality: It was good with decent bathroom. The stateroom attendants were great hard working people. Ship staff quality: Guest services was bad: long lines and bad attitude - I witnessed someone being threatened to be kicked off the ship in Mexico(!) by one of the guest services clerks (I think that says enough about how much this cruise line cares about its customers). Security checks were very poor. All they cared is customers bringing alcohol on board. One of our friends passed security with a pocket knife but I got pulled aside for a bottle of wine. Overall the goal of the cruise is to rip you off as much as they can. Entertainment: It was not that great. The music on the ship was way too loud. You could not find a space on the ship without having to listen to a "concert".
