Great time by
A Traveler from Naples, FL Sailing date: Feb 2012Pros: The singers and dancers Cons: can't think of anything Carnival Freedom was a clean, well set up ship. Our cabin was great. The larger shower and counter and sink were great. There was plenty to do with lots of variety. We particularly enjoyed the singers and dancers. The New Orleans show (Big Easy) and the Beatles show were the best we have seen. The talent was great, the sets were fantastic and the musicians were terrific. Thanks for a good cruise. Ship Quality

  Wonderful: Carnival Freedom by
Julie J from West Palm Beach,FL Sailing date: Sep 2011Pros: The food and activities, AND the people We have been on Royal Caribbean before, but Carnival was so much more fun! More activities, friendlier people. It was just so much more enjoyable! Ship Quality
Dining/Food
Stateroom QualityWe had a interior room on the 8th deck but the room was a good size. There were so many activities we didn't stay in much and when we did, it was still relaxing. Ship Staff QualityOnly bad encounter was a worker at the midnight buffet that was rude when a few other people were getting on the line Entertainment & Activities

Key West, FloridaDon't Miss: Parasailing George Town, Grand CaymanIF you've never been before the tours are great.
Ocho Rios, JamaicaWe were harrassed by the shop keepers at Dunn's River falls, they were very rude! But the fall's themselves were great
Don't Miss: if I ever visit Jamaica again, I won't take a cruise and I'll go to the other end of the island where the people are not so aggressive. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

  Perfect Vacation by
Mike E from New Jersey Sailing date: Jul 2011Pros: Clean, efficient, good food, excellent service, nice ship Cons: Too many extras for sale Perfect vacation. Went with my family and my brothers family. We had cruised in the past with another line (NCL) and Carnival was outstanding. The entire ship was very clean and well organized. Service was great. Every time we returned to the rooms, the beds were made, new towels were there and the bathrooms were cleaned. Food was very good and as is usually the case, I gained a few pounds. Everyone seemed to find fun activities and always had things to do. Only thing I did not care for was the push for the extras (spa treatments, liquor, photos, etc.). Some might appreciate those things but I just found them in the way. Ship QualityClean and well organized. Always someone cleaning and straigtening up. Dining/FoodExcellent food and the staff went out of their way to satisfy. Stateroom QualityNot very large rooms but well laid out and effective. Slept very well and generally found the room comfortable. Ship Staff QualityOutstanding. Entertainment & ActivitiesMany things to do and the shows were good. Children's ProgramsSomething for every age group. My kids had a great time. Some of that was simply being able to roam the ship with new friends.

Key West, FloridaSnorkel trip was well run. Enjoyed it.
George Town, Grand CaymanBeautiful beaches and water. A must see for beach lovers.
Don't Miss: 7 mile Beach Ocho Rios, JamaicaToo many locals turn on the sales pressure for anything from taxis to souveniers. Felt like running the gauntlet with the locals lined up to pressure you. Would not return here.

  Super cruise by
A Traveler from Cedar Falls, IA Sailing date: Jul 2011Pros: Great food, rooms, and service Cons: Carnival is changing their smoking policy, which is great! However, just avoid that side of the ship for now if you are a non-smoker. The Carnival Freedom ship was extremely clean and not crowded. This was despite a sold-out ship!!! The amount of things to do on the ship was excellent and the staff was extremely efficient. Since this was our first cruise, we were a bit apprehensive about the entire experience -- but Carnival does it right! Their customer service is excellent -- the rooms were cleaned twice a day and the food was impressive (especially the evening dinners -- do not miss one of them)!!! Ship QualityThe ship size is great -- it can be difficult to learn the layout, but once you have it mastered it is easy to navigate. Dining/Food
Stateroom QualityWe had an interior state room and it was very spacious. Ship Staff QualityThe staff was always willing to assist and they were extremely efficient Entertainment & Activities

Key West, FloridaWe toured the Hemingway museum, which was interesting -- especially the cats!
Don't Miss: The Heminway Museum George Town, Grand CaymanWe rented a car at a local office near the port (check at the visitor's center when you arrive). We bargained for a car because they were expensive. We drove to Rum Point and it was very beautiful and less crowded that the tourist areas. Skip the Botanical Garden -- was not as interested or beautiful (a work still in process).
Don't Miss: Rum Point Ocho Rios, JamaicaThe stay was too short but we did enjoy Dunns River Falls. The Orbitz excursion was great!! We are in our 50's with teenagers and we managed the falls quite easily. Just walk slowly (the water is extremely clear) and bring water shoes along!
Don't Miss: Dunns River Falls 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

George Town, Grand CaymanDon't Miss: Margaritaville Ocho Rios, JamaicaNot a good place to walk around the streets. People hounding you to buy goods, braid hair, or drive you to places. You need to stick with the people who drove you to your excursion. I did the horseback riding with a private group rather than thru the cruise and I was able to get to know the tour guide.
Don't Miss: trail and horseback riding and get the jerk chicken at the restaraunt nearby the port. Cheap beer 1 out of 3 people found this review helpful.
