Pros:
The Food

Cons:
No clocks in rooms

The ship was excellent. The service was excellent along with the food. And the beds were the most comfortable that I have slept in ...even in motels!

Bahama Cruise by Debra S. from Brunswick, Ga.

Pros:
My room

Cons:
The idea you must pay for soft drinks.

If you are wanting to take a short cruise to see how you like a cruise I recommend this cruise. I think the pool should be open later for the late nighters who would enjoy a late night swim. The room was awesome as we had a suite it allowed us with plenty of space and having a patio was the best. I was great to sit out there star gazing. It was my 10yr old grandson first cruise so we really enjoyed sitting on the patio.

Pros:
The room was great.

Cons:
The crew was very sullen.

We were very disappointed in this trip. The crew was not at all friendly. Some even acted like we were bothering them. (Soda girl in 1st dining was awesome.) Never even met cabin steward. No matter when he/she cleaned it was always 1/2 done. Entertainment staff was not so great either however the shows themselves were out of this world. Was first time cruise for my husband and now he doesn't want to ever do one again.

Pros:
The dinning rstaff were so friendly and the beauty of the table and dinningroom along with the gormet meals were such fun for me and my granddaughter. We enjoyed the pool and the minature golf and pingpong on board. We enjoyed walking around the ship and looking at the ocean from the Lido deck and

Cons:
The shore excursion could have been explained better. They told us that we could get money back if we did not use all the money on the gift card we had to purchanse if we bough cash. I think that the staff sould have told us that it would have been to our advantage to use our credit card at Atlant

The ship was beautiful. The stateroom was always clean and tidy. The towel animals were great. The dinning experience was super.

Pros:

Cons:

This ship was okay but it did not have the WOW factor. Maybe the ship is old. The room was good and the workers were excellent. I would go again but on a newer ship. If you have young children they don't have a kiddie pool.

A Fantastic Voyage by Rachel M from Philadelphia, PA
Sailing date: May 2009

Pros:
Ship, Service, Room

Cons:
Rocky seas

I had a wonderful time on the Carnival Sensation cruise to the Bahamas!!! My only complaint is that my 3 day cruise was not nearly long enough. I was really sad to have to leave the ship to go back home. Carnival did a fantactic job, there was always plenty to do and enjoy on this ship. My only suggestion to Carnival would be to schedule the Captain's Dinner on a day when there are no shore excursions, also to advertise when the Captain's Dinner wil take place. The crew was excellent... the service was superb... and the overall experience was wonderful!!! I would definitely cruise with Carnival sensation.

An okay experience by Jill O. from Brunswick, ME
Sailing date: May 2009

Pros:
Good Food and nice staterooms

Cons:
Lots of singles, lots of drinking, not really appropriate for children

I would recommend this ship to those who are traveling without children and those who are traveling with friends. My first impression was that this cruise was going to be a bit "wild". Once onboard, the alcohol began to flow. Within the first hour there were 20-somethings using a funnel to chug beer by the pool. My daughter, who is 4, never got into the pool because it was ALWAYS full of wild, intoxicated young adults.

My daughter lost her "blankie" when it was accidentally picked up in the bed linens and sent to the ships laundry room. When she realized that her blankie was missing, she had a melt down! The ships crew searched the laundry room and returned it the very next day. They really saved us from a bad situation!

Don"t Waste Your Time and Money by A Traveler from Augusta Georgia
Sailing date: May 2009

Pros:
The weather was nice!!!!

Cons:
Just about everything else

The Sensation was suppose to have been renovated recently....I for one could not tell. The ship is just to small for the number of passengers they stuff onboard. This was my third trip on this boat and I swear everything seems to get worse each time.

As I said this ship is too small for the number of passengers. There is very little to do if you don't drink and/or gamble. The layout of the ship is tolerable however this renovation that was done is not so obvious...the ship is just old. Most places on the ship are hard to get to and the traffic patterns are directed poorly.

Dining/Food
Food on a ship is food on a ship....if your looking for 5 star dining THIS AIN'T IT. Not to be overly critical of the food....it seems to not measure up to past trips. The avaliability of food seems to get shorter and shorter.....1 1/2 hours to feed 2400 people for breakfast and then it is gone. Let it suffice to say that if you want to sleep a little on your vacation don't plan on eating. The myth you have heard about food all around all the time....not so on carnival anymore. I will say the idea of opening dining in the formal dining room was an improvement over eating at the round table with people you can't stand.

Stateroom Quality
Again, just renovated, hard to tell....my room was the same as other trips...balcony suite. Bathroom stunk and it could not be removed although they did try (I think). The chairs on the balcony were so large the we had trouble just opening the door and getting on the balcony...not good.

Ship Staff Quality
My housekeeping staff was wonderful and I can't say enough good things about them....and that is where it ends. The cruise director this trip was useless...had nothing of any fun planned. The food service staff was the worst I have have ever encountered and it translated to the poor quality of food. Casino staff were not only poorly trained at the table games they were rude if you complained.

Entertainment & Activities
Poor...Poor...Poor.....if you don't drink or gamble there is nothing to do. We arrived in Nassau at 12 noon...for no apparent reason and left the next morning at 6...half day wasted and could not even go to the beach and shop the straw market....bad itenerary..I should have checked closer.

Nice, but not really designed for me by Rob C from Orangeburg, South Carolina
Sailing date: Apr 2009

Pros:
cleanliness and hospitality

Cons:
expenses

I had a nice time on the Sensation. The staff was extremely friendly and the ship was in very good condition. All procedures (check-in, check-out, dinnning, etc) were very well organized and the common areas were clean and the rooms were nice. The fitness center and spa was an unexpected delight, as it was in great condition and had all that you could ask for. Food was good, but not great...but, then you can't expect it to be perfect when they are cooking for over 1,000 people. However, because the ship was one of the smaller ones in the fleet, everything is more condensed. Only one pool on the whole ship! And, some of the services were packed, because they were limited by space and what they could offer. Only cruising for 3 days is really more of a hassle than vacation. You get there after lunch the first day, do shore excursions the 2nd day, and the 3rd day you know you are leaving the next day, so you never get to relax and take it all in...unless, of course, you are like my girlfriend and just lounge around. But, I like to do as much as possible and you just can't fit it in. Also, if you are a drinker (like I am), cruising will kill your wallet. You think you are gettting a great deal when you sign up, but then each drink is expensive with gratuity added on every drink, plus a daily gratuity is tacked on. For instance, two signature drinks will cost you around $15 with gratuity, so $18. Even a Diet Coke cost me $4. My Sail & Sign account was almost as much as the cruise! Plus, I am not married, don't have any kids, but I don't want to re-live my college Spring Breaks, so the "clubs" are not really my thing. If you want to chill, but still enjoy drinks, you better be independently wealthy. Overall, it was a nice time and I would go on a cruise, again. But, not on a smaller ship and it would be for at least 4 days...you just feel rushed the whole time. Also, I would be wiser about the drinks...

Average to Good but not exceptional by A Traveler from Chicago, IL
Sailing date: Mar 2009

Pros:
Ground crew and transportation to ship

Cons:
Food not very good.

The Ground crew was excellent. Our flight got in late because of bad weather and the ground crew was waiting for us at the airport and took us immediately to the ship and got us on board 15 min before departure. The food was not very good and not much variety. Entertainment shows were average and there was too much pressure from photographers who were all over the ship and even bothered you at dinnertime. The third bed in our room was flimsy and unacceptable. The staff was mostly friendly and adequate. This was an average to good cruise but far from being exceptional. Out of the 4 cruises we have take so far this one was 3 out of 4.
