Not a great trip by
A Traveler from Ventura, CA Sailing date: Jun 2012Pros: Catalina Cons: too many to name The ship felt very used, safe but not in good condition. The bathroom was in need of a deep cleaning and repair. Mold on the ceiling, rough caulking around the entire shower floor like it had been quickly fixed. The window was so dirty you couldn't take pictures out of it. Ship QualityLayout was fine. Cheesy old school Vegas decor everywhere. Dining/FoodFood quality was ok. I had higher expectations but it was ok. Great desserts! We were given the late dining time which didn't work for our daughter (10) who wanted to eat with us in the dining room (real food not kids crap). The kids activities were held during this late dining time, I guess so parents could eat without the kids. Stateroom QualityComfortable beds. One of the robes in our room was not clean. I left it on the floor (to be replaced as noted in the room info) but the same dirty robe was hung up every time. Yuck. Ship Staff QualityNice staff but I think they are used to those who are drunk the entire trip. Entertainment & Activities
Children's ProgramsIf you want to get rid of your kids for the trip then it might be ok but we wanted family time. Lots of activities had additional fees. Times were odd. Do not pick late dining if your kids want to eat with you. 1 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

Will never cruise Carnival again by
Kim P from Las Vegas, NV Sailing date: Mar 2012Pros: Being out on the ocean Cons: The uncleanliness of our room This was the 3rd time we cruised with Carnival. Our first two trips were fine but this one was not. Upon entering our cabin, I went into the walk in closet to hang my clothes and found a hotel room key on one shelf and a pair of dirty underware on another. I contacted guest services and they sent up housekeeping to deal with the issue. The girl that came, took away the dirty underwear and stated somebody would be back to santize our room. Never happened. Later that night, I went to pull back the bedding and found hair on both of the pillows. The next day, our room stewart confronted us in the hallway and stated that since we complained to guest services about the dirty underwear, he was getting reassigned to another position because it is his responsibility to make sure housekeeping had cleaned all of the rooms. We were shocked at his unprofessionalism. He should have apologized and let it go. It is not our fault that he did not do his job. We paid alot of money for our suite and we expected it to be reasonably clean. Next cruise we take will be with NCL again. Their ships are beautiful, clean and their staff are amazing. Ship Quality
Dining/Food
Stateroom QualityDidn't enjoy the dirty underware and hotel key left behind by prior guests or the hair on our pillows. Ship Staff QualityMinus our room steward. The rest of the staff was ok. Entertainment & Activities

  Dead in the water by
K Chan from San Francisco, CA Sailing date: Mar 2012Pros: a waiter Cons: seating The ship was big, but still had to squeeze things together to make room for events and that made it uncomfortable at times. There were events happening on the first few day for those who didn't chose to do off shore excursions but on the day back, no programs at all during the day. Ship QualityAfter putting away the bags there still didn't seem to be that much room in the cabin. Dining/FoodWhat happened to 24hr buffets? Was hungry for fruit and after 10pm nothing but ice tea and coffee was available. One had to rely on room service when they were smart enough to store food. The dining room wasn't able to fit everyone comfortably. Other than the buffet, breakfast and lunch halls were hidden. Ship Staff QualityA fight between 2 groups happened and only one staff stepped in. 0 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

  An "unexpected" Cruise by
A Traveler from Los Angeles,CA Sailing date: Feb 2012Very noisy and the lunch buffet line was too long. We tried to have lunch at the buffet for one day, and we had to wait in line for over 30 minutes. We booked two staterooms, but people were playing loud music in their rooms and had the door open. We noticed the security came to talk to them, but the problem lasted for two days. This was only a three day cruise! Ship Quality
Dining/Food
Stateroom QualityOur bathroom drain was clogged and the balcony door cannot be locked. We requested a blanket for my parents in the next stateroom, it had chocolate all over it. Ship Staff Quality

  not to great by
PATRICIA S. from PORT CHARLOTTE, FL; Sailing date: Nov 2011Pros: the food was great Cons: hair in my food first time I ate at the buffet, i had chicken tenders. the first bite was a long black hair in it. that made me sick and i could eat any more. the third night dinning the service was absoultley terriable. we sat and had to wait for the food and even for the drinks, we then asked the next waiter as our was not caring. also we paid to go to the
Grand Caymens but was unable to go which was part of the package. the cruise line should have given each person a on board credit but there attitude was so we could not stop.
Ship Qualityhad a karoke planned at 7 pm but a wedding reception was in the lounge. after about 20 minutes of waiting,, i called the customer service and complained. I paid for use of the ship not to wait for someone to have a wedding reception. the cruise line should put this up front so you can plan. on another "Carnival:: cruise, all the lounges were for private parties and therefor no one could even go dancing. Carnival had the same attitude, "not our problem" Dining/Foodexcept for the hair in the food Stateroom Quality

  Drag! Never again! by
Lisa B from Kansas City Sailing date: Oct 2011Pros: Food in the dining room, the friendliness of the staff! Cons: Cleanliness of the ship. The overcrowdedness of the ship. The ship's toilets would not flush!! Door handles on the stalls would come off. Staff didn't clear off the tables on the deck promptly, I had to grab many trays and items so that they wouldn't fly off the ship into the ocean. Passengers show no regard for cleaning up after themselves either, they just leave their trash laying around. I grabbed several beer bottles and glasses from getting rolled overboard. My husband and I wouldn't even get into the ships pool. We had 4 medical emergencies on board which diverted our ship to a different destination than we planned, lost out on our shore excursion too! Passengers we all talking about how horrible the cruise was and how dissappointed they were. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodDining room was ok, but the buffet was a joke. Not impressed with the quality of the food. Stateroom QualityWish there was a blow dryer in the room, our air conditioning would not set any lhigher than 32 degrees, we froze to death in there. Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & ActivitiesMusic was too loud, security was clueless when it came to obnoxious drunks on the ship.

  Crowded cruise by
Lisa T from Indianapolis Sailing date: Mar 2011Pros: Ports of call great Cons: Grouchy staff when getting off cruise ship for ports of call, felt like herded cattle, "free" excursions booked through orbitz not a good idea found out after booked on local time not ship and was unable to change excursion time unable to complete all of the excursion. Ship small for the amount of people on board, one small pool. Spa is located under running track so not quiet and relaxing for massage. Shows in main theater not very good, better performers in highschool. Ship QualityClean ship but small for as many people booked on cruise Dining/Food
Stateroom QualityOur steward "Harry" was great.Rooms hot needed more ac or fans. Ship Staff QualityFound out excursion was not a carnival excursion booked through orbitz unwilling to help change times to fit with ship schedule, excursion desk didn't follow safety guidelines just wanted us to book excursion. Staff rude when getting off ship at ports of call . Entertainment & ActivitiesComedians good. Main stage entertainment poor.

Same cruise as 4 years ago by
Cissy L. from Lafayette,In. Sailing date: Jun 2010Pros: my kids had fun, it being the first for them Cons: nothing changed, cheesy entertainment, small, small pool for so many people I went on the same cruise 4 yrs. ago. I will never do this ship again. The pool is smaller than most hotel pools. The entertainment is the same (cheesy). The ship continues to suck every dollar you have out of you even after you get on. The photographers are always somewhere lurking for more money. The casino still hasn't changed. slots are very tight. food is average, after a few days you get bored. Bingo cards were 3 for twenty, one game, one winner of only$500 . Ship Quality

Cozumel, MexicoWe walked to closest hotel where you can swim and snorkel for $45.00 for three all day long. Panchos backyard Restaurant was expensive, limited menu, for tourist only, don't fall for it.
George Town, Grand Caymanunder water observatory. You see a few shipwrecks, reefs, etc. kids loved it. We bought our own excursions once we got there. This was $120.00 for 3 of us, for 1 hr.

Not very good for famiies by
A Traveler from Jackson, MS Sailing date: Mar 2010Pros: food was excellent--esp. the main dining room Cons: very few activites for anyone not interested in drinking or being sedentary The ship was in good shape and well cared for, but the cruise itself was very disappointing. There simply was not much to do unless you drank alot of alcohol or are content to just sit and eat amongst masses of people. The entertainment was of poor quality except for the excellent Latina Fiesta the last night. The food and service were excellent. Unfortunately, I and my kids were just bored and ready to get off by the end. Ship Quality
