not so wonderful cruise by
James B from Floyds Knobs, In Sailing date: Oct 2012Pros: very nice ship. Clean and well maintained. nice staff. Cons: did not have shows every night. on one show the main host did not show up Performers, like comedians not very good. One performer did not show up for his show. Not a lot of good entertainment on the ship. The big water slide is not steep enough, so you have to push yourself down. No fun. Ship QualityThe ship was very nice ,clean and nice layout. Dining/Foodthe food was good except for the pizza. It was really bad. It did not have enough sauce. Very dry and tasteless. Stateroom Qualitythe only thing I missed was a curtain between the bed and the rest of the room. Ship Staff QualityOur waiters and room stewards were excellent. Entertainment & Activities

Dave from Fort Myers, FL Sailing date: Sep 2012Pros: Staff was wonderful Cons: The Food The ship was done in very dark and dreary colors. It was kept clean. Ship QualityVery dark. cleaned well. Ship Staff QualityStaff was very helpful. Some didn't know where different restaurants were. Entertainment & ActivitiesEvening showtime was not good. Very disappointed. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  Fantastic Adventure!!! by
Josh F. from Lexington, KY Sailing date: Aug 2012Pros: Crew of the ship Cons: Montego Bay, Jamaica Even though the ship was built in 2002, it was in exceptional condition. Our room was quite a bit more spacious than the one we had on another cruise company. We could actually turn around in the shower! Ship QualityEverything was in top shape! Dining/FoodThe food was always fresh and diverse. We used the "anytime dining" which made it very convenient for our ever-changing schedule. Both the Unicorn dining room (buffet) and Truffles dining room (evening meals) provided exceptional dining experiences. Stateroom QualityThe room was much bigger than anticipated. Plenty of space for us and our 3 year old to run around. It was kept very clean and every piece of furniture/equipment was in working order. Ship Staff QualityThis was the best part of the entire trip. Our stateroom attendant, Camelo, was the best! He was exceptionally friendly, a very hard worker, and went above and beyond to meet our every need.
The junior hostess of the Truffles dining room, Aleksandra, greeted us the first evening with such warmth and care. We quickly became great friends with her, so much so that she had our favorite dessert special ordered for us each evening.
Our food service team (Luis the head team waiter and Aliyasa the team waiter) were simply the best anyone could ask for. Since we had "anytime dining" we had the liberty of sitting wherever we chose; however, after the first evening meal, Adiyasa requested we ask for his section the following evening. We enjoyed his service so much that we returned to his area each night thereafter. Both Luis and he took great care of us, especially our 3 year old son. They always brought his food immediately and would include special treats with his meal - small acts of kindness Entertainment & ActivitiesWe did not participate in many of the activities; however, there was plenty to choose from. Children's ProgramsWe took advantage of Carnival's children's program and placed our son in their Noah's Ark camp on several occasions throughout the week. The girls were excellent; extremely attentive and professional, yet caring. They kept the activities moving throughout the day, which never gave the young children time to get restless. Our son often begged to go to the "play area", wanting nothing to do with us. 5 out of 5 people found this review helpful.

First Cruise - Now Hooked by
Alyssa M from Baltimore Sailing date: Jul 2012Pros: the never-ending food, our room (balcony), grand cayman scuba diving excursion Cons: not enough late night entertainment, everything ended at midnight. The ship was clean and it was large enough to find quiet places to relax at any time. The adults only section fills up quickly during days at sea, so be sure to put your towels and belongings down before heading to breakfast to get a spot for the day in peace and quiet :) Ship QualityWe stayed on the 5th floor and it was peaceful, clean and quiet Dining/FoodThe main dining room food was slightly better than the buffet. Our waiters were friendly and some seemed genuinely happy to be there. Stateroom QualityOur room was fantastic. I've heard once you go balcony you never go back, and that seems to be the case for us. Ship Staff QualityExcellent except for the early morning knock the day of our departure Entertainment & ActivitiesShows were all basically the same. I enjoyed the dancing! 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  Decent overall by
A Traveler from Raleigh, NC Sailing date: Jun 2012Pros: Ports-of-call, service, price Cons: Stateroom was in poor condition, noisy I went on a last minute 7-day cruise of the western Caribbean, embarking from Tampa. The places where we stopped were great (Cozumel, Belize, Roatan (Honduras), and Grand Cayman), and the service was good. The ship itself is clearly dated, although clean, and activities were fine but seemed more limited compared to other ships. Our stateroom was in poor condition and had a seriously wet floor for the last two days of the cruise. The typical passenger on this ship personified the stereotypes of typical cheap cruisers. Ship Staff QualityService has been very good on all of the cruises I've been on; the service on this cruise was still good but not as good as the others I've been on. Entertainment & ActivitiesAdult pool area was not as obnoxious as the regular pool areas, and the lounge chairs there were fantastic. The comedians were much better than expected and the cruise director did a very good job. The rest of the entertainment/activities were not bad but unimpressive. Outdoor activities beyond the pools were basically nonexistent. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

This was a wonderful cruise! by
Cathi G from Bryant, Indiana Sailing date: Mar 2012Pros: Everything was provided, the food, the room was great! Cons: I would have preferred to eat earlier This ship had great customer service and they did everything to see to our needs. The waiters and waitresses in the dining room each evening even made sure we were entertained after they fed us a delicious meal and gave great service. After seeing the fantastic shows and stuffing ourselves throughout the day, we retired to super clean rooms with adorable towel creatures made by our stewards to greet us!
If that wasn't enough, the ports we visited were exotic and beautiful! Ship QualityThe only thing I would change about the decor would be there was an abundance of naked art work throughout the ship that many might find offensive. Dining/Food
Stateroom QualityWe didn't like the naked woman picture over the bed of our daughter. Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & ActivitiesComedy was a little crude. Not family friendly. Children's Programs

7 day Carnival Legend western Carribbean by
Tony K. from Charlotte, NC, USA Sailing date: Mar 2012Pros: Amazing staff - every single crew member was outstanding! Cons: Access to diet Coke (personal addiction) paid $52 but not easy to get (by the glass) Decor in public areas was dark, gosh and even a little silly (the "legend" theme), but balcony room was outstanding. Staff were all super! Saltwater pools were a bit of a surprise but pleasant. Great amenities everywhere. I paid $52 for an upfront diet Coke fee, it was difficult to get diet coke (I am a diet Coke-aholic) - at bars only and only by the glass. If you can take your own supply of soda on-board or pay $2/glass or the $52 fee with limited access. Many experienced fellow diet Coke-aholics told me they knew to bring their own supply. (And, being a staunch diet Coke drinker, we checked ahead of time to know that they served Coke products - which cinched our cruise line choice - no Pepsi - yeah!). Ship QualityExcept for decor everything was exceptional. Dining/FoodPosts like this one advised that food was often mediocre. While they are to be applauded for their heroics in serving great food, as with any buffet food often cold and/or in short supply. Steakhouse at $30/person was fun but no better than most land restaurants. Stateroom QualityAlthough our first overnight cruise we were very happy with our balcony room. We would not be happy without a balcony so other ships without them were not an option. Bathroom was more than adequate - a pleasant surprise. Ship Staff QualityEvery hospitality business out there should send their staff to Carnival for training!!! Unbelievable that EVERY crew member could be sooo fantastic. "Going above and beyond" is an understatement, but then I cannot think of any higher praise myself! Entertainment & Activities2 shore excursions and 2 shopping port trips were great. Cayman and Cozumel varied in their ambience for their tourist, but as seasoned Caribbean island hoppers we found our first visits to these and the Belize/Honduras ports to be very good. 5 out of 7 people found this review helpful.
