fascination
by Anton L from Atlanta, Ga
Sailing date:
Mar 2013
Pros:
service
Cons:
bathroom
Love the service. The servers were so kind, especially Boris, our waiter. We requested to be seated in his area the entire voyage. The only complaint I had, or my wife, was that the ac was on making it too cold for many people. Also the room wasn't as pictured. The tv shared the wall with our headboard, so watching tv in bed is very uncomfortable. I will cruise more with carnival as my trip was so enjoyable.

very nice time
by John D. from Hilton Head, S.C.
Sailing date:
Jan 2013
Pros:
you can "do your own thing" re. when and where you eat, night time activities, etc..
Cons:
only flaw was the line being too long for the mongolian wok
Crew was most professional and polite. Since all gratuities are already included there is no concern with amounts due. Everything is kept very clean. Boarding and debarking were orderly and efficient.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
This size (class) ship is not quite as large as a few others and I think this is beneficial for the passenger.
Dining/Food
Breakfasts weren't anything special. All other meals were excellent.
Stateroom Quality
I attempted to upgrade to a balcony but wasn't able to. Yet the regular stateroom w/ocean view was fine.
Ship Staff Quality
Very pleasant and all requests were handled quickly and well.
Entertainment & Activities
"Diamonds" club played same music (Michael Jackson song) each night regardless of the supposed "theme". Piano Bar guy (Bob) excellent and fun.

Fantastic Cruise
by JTC from Fla
Sailing date:
Jan 2013
Pros:
Service, Kindness of the crew, and the food!
Cons:
Smoke from the casino polluting a musical venue
The last night, there was a fabulous show. There was nothing on that caliber the rest of the time. However, the musicians were all fantastic! The lighting on the putt putt course was weak and they said that they couldn't turn on more lights. Smoke in the common area off of the casino, kept us away from being able to enjoy some wonderful music. That was a shame! The service and food were exceptional. Excellent job!

great first time cruise
by Donna B from United States
Sailing date:
Dec 2012
Pros:
we really enjoyed the way we were treated. We felt totally spoiled
Cons:
The evening buffet was not our favorite thing. The dessert bar was good. We just enjoyed having our evening meal in the dining room
From the moment we stepped on board we were given great attention by all of the staff. The shows were great. We enjoyed the time we were able to spend on deck at the pool and just sunning. Didn't do too much of that just because the weather was just too cool for us. We are looking forward to sailing on the Fascination again with our children.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
The cleaning staff kept the ship as spotless as you possibly could with that many people in one place like that.
Dining/Food
We tried the evening buffet the first night but decided that we liked the dining room for our evening meal. The breakfast buffet was great though. I do have to say that in my opinion the coffee in the dining room was the best though.
Stateroom Quality
We were on Riviera Deck so we did feel some motion from the water but nothing we couldn't adjust too. We were actually surprised by the size of the room. From things we had read online we expected it to be much smaller. It was the size of a small hotel room. We didn't want to stay in the room during the day any way so that was fine with us. There was ample closet space. We didn't even use it all
Ship Staff Quality
If you wanted something or had a question any of the staff were willing to help and if it was something they couldn't do they would guide you to someone who could
Entertainment & Activities
Loved the shows!!!!! My husband said that he liked the comedy of Paul better than the comedian that was on board. I am still trying to figure out how the dancers kept their balance the last night when the ship was rocking more than usual

The Most Awesome!
by A Traveler from Columbia, SC
Sailing date:
Dec 2012
Pros:
Relaxation, Adventure, Meeting People, New Places
Cons:
Dinner
Carnival Fascination was awesome! As this was my first cruise, I really enjoyed the adventure of finding where to go on the ship and the relaxation in the hot tubs on deck.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Overal clean ship. The bathroom inside the staterooms could have been a little better
Dining/Food
Not too impressed with the food. Average/regular to me.
Stateroom Quality
The size of the stateroom was good, however, I wished I reserved the 2 twin beds (slide together) versus the bunk beds.
Ship Staff Quality
Great staff!
Entertainment & Activities
Went on 2 excursions. Carnival staff was very helpful. There was a little "bump in the road" with communication on the 2nd excursion, but all worked out.

Had fun with the family!
by A Traveler from Lawrenceville, GA
Sailing date:
Nov 2012
Pros:
Food was great.
Cons:
Shows were boring.
The ship is old and needs to be retired. The seas were rough and it sounded like the ship was going to fall apart.

An amazing time away :)
by A Traveler from Thomasville, Georgia
Sailing date:
Nov 2012
Pros:
The relaxation. No cleaning, no cooking and just a good time!
Cons:
Sometimes I felt like there was a break in things to do at night.
The ship was very beautiful. It was very well maintained. Just a beautiful boat!

Dining/Food
Mmmmmm :-)
Stateroom Quality
Presently surprised with size of the room
Ship Staff Quality
Staff was amazing, made the trip that much better. So very friendly!
Entertainment & Activities
Some of the people hosting the shows were kind of "boring" and needed a little more personality!

Hurricane Sandy
by David P from Alabama, departed Jacksonville
Sailing date:
Oct 2012
Pros:
Key West
Cons:
Same shows and entertainment as last cruise
Overall it was nicely kept for it's age.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Basically same ship as the Elation which we cruised on last year.
Dining/Food
Dining room food was OK however buffet food is very "Diner" like. Not quality just volume.
Stateroom Quality
Beds were comfy.
Ship Staff Quality
Stateroom is cleaned every time you leave and they kept ice bucket filled at all times.
Entertainment & Activities
Same shows as last years Cozumel cruise. OK the first time but not worth seeing twice!
Children's Programs
They will keep kids occupied/happy when adults want to play.

A Great Long Weekend
by A Traveler from Niagara Falls, NY
Sailing date:
Oct 2012
Pros:
Excursions
Cons:
Ships Hours
Ship was a little older. If you like to stay up late and don't gamble, the pools and hot tubs close at 10 or 11PM and the last shows end by 1AM.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
An older ship, but well maintained
Dining/Food
Diner was excellent but food throughout the day was more of a diner quality
Stateroom Quality
Spacious and well maintained. Room staff was outstanding
Ship Staff Quality
Still can't believe how many times we were walking around and were cut off by a crew member in a hurry.
Entertainment & Activities
Good shows but nothing after 12AM...

Mediocre cruise experience
by A Traveler from Chapel Hill, NC
Sailing date:
Sep 2012
Pros:
the crew (waiters and stewards specifically)
Cons:
food and the activities/entertaiment hosts (except for the Karoake hostess)
This was my first cruise experience. I guess my expectations were too high. The good aspects of the ship was meeting people (other cruisers and the crew). Everything else was dull. I will probably not return to this ship, but I am glad i went.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
the ship's decor is ugly but the ship is very clean
Dining/Food
the is plentiful, but not that great or exciting
Stateroom Quality
I had a small stateroom, but I found it to be clean and cozy
Ship Staff Quality
The staff was one the highlights of the ship!
Entertainment & Activities
The activities were not that great. They were stale and boring and some of the hosts/hostess did not do a good job getting people excited.
