My husband and I had a WONDERFUL time!! by
Ana O. from Modesto, CA Sailing date: Oct 2009Pros: Being on top deck late at night!! Cons: Can't think of anything!!!! I was very impressed with the ship and with the crew members that helped us. The shows, food, music, activities; too much to explain. All I have to say is IT WAS MAGNIFICENT!!!!! Ship Quality

  Better than I expected by
Greg A from las vegas, NV Sailing date: Jul 2009Pros: Outstanding customer service. Cons: Not enough hot tubs. They were always full or being cleaned. We were very pleased with the service and the people. They had great attitudes and seemed geniunely concerned with us. The food was prepared so nice. Everyone at the table was taking pictures before eating. Lots to do on the boat. The shore excursions were nice. I was surprised that I had to pay for a lot of extras after boarding the ship. I really thought most of that was already taken care of, but it was my first cruise....live and learn. The ship was clean. The stewards kept the room spotless. Was very impressed with the friendliness of the entire crew. Ship Quality
Dining/Food
Stateroom QualityKeep in mind we were on the lowest level in the back, so there was some engine noise and vibration. You get what you pay for. We were so excited that it was our first cruise, that it didn't matter. I was so tired each night, I didn't even notice. Ship Staff QualityI am from Las Vegas, home of some of the rudest customer service people in the world, so this was such a pleasant change from what I come into contact with on a daily basis in Vegas. Everyone was great. Entertainment & ActivitiesThere was almost too much to do, but it being our first cruise, we didn't know where to start.

Ensenada, MexicoI have been to Mexico several times. We weren't hounded by people looking for hand-outs. The town was clean. Remember....it is a 3rd world country. Things are different. I am sure there are better deals in Mexico for shopping, but they created a nice area for tourists to shop. We don't like haggling over price, but that is the culture down there. We did the shopping tour and the ATV tour. A little pricey, but we were on vacation. I'd do it again.
Don't Miss: Just get out and walk around. It is safe and nice. Don't just stay on the ship. 3 out of 5 people found this review helpful.

  Wonderful experience! by
Craig C from Chico, CA Sailing date: Jul 2009Pros: Freindly and wonderful staff, lots to do, great rooms, casino, outstanding food everywhere. Cons: I left the two "vegas style reviews" early as they seemed a bit amateurish, but that may just be my taste It's like the fanciest Las Vegas casino with shows, restaurants, activities, pools, jacuzzis, mini-golf, volleyball, basketball, etc., all included for a great price, plus it moves!
Catalina island was amazing. I really recommend the parasailing and to go snorkeling over the kelp forests.
Ensenada was interesting, a poorer Mexican city. Went and saw the marine geyser (one of three in the world which was neat. Somewhat aggressive vendors near there though. Ship QualityGorgeous ship with absolutely awesome staff Dining/Food

  For Those Skeptics... by
Pastor Darrin from Palm Springs, CA Sailing date: Jul 2009Pros: Carnival offered a variety of events, programs, food, and fun! The beds were so comfortable, my new bride and I could have slept the whole cruise and been blessed by the whole trip!! The staff was amazing and attentive. Great experience! Cons: Realizing that it will be at least a year before we cruise again! Very pleased and can't wait to cruise again. Very glad that Carnival was our first cruise. Ship QualityVery clean and cared for. It is a beautiful ship. Dining/FoodLots of variety, but not always the best quality. Some of the food offered was very bland and undercooked. Stateroom QualitySmall, but the beds were outragious! Ship Staff QualityVery attentive and approachable. Entertainment & Activities

  A wonderful Cruise! by
Wendy K from Lincoln, NE Sailing date: May 2009Pros: Very clean ship, wonderful staff, great food! Cons: Only 1 small pool, limited (if any at all) balcony staterooms We have been on many carnival cruises, and even though Carnival staff is always great, the staff on this cruise was by far the best - very friendly and accommodating. The ship was very clean and well maintained, even though it's not brand new. There was many activities for all ages and interests. Also, there is now anytime dining as a selection if you don't want to commit to a dining time, which is a nice option to have. Would highly recommend the Elation! Ship Quality
