What a wonderful Cruise!!! by
Sami M. from Silver Spring, MD Sailing date: Jul 2009Pros: Friendliness of the staff, Cleanliness of the ship, wonderful all around!!! Cons: Nope, none!!! What a wonderful time my family and I had. Great for adults as well as children. My 7 year old loved the Camp Carnival! Carnival definately set the standard for future cruises! Ship Quality
Dining/FoodAnything you could want at anytime. You don't go hungry or thirsty on this cruise. You have the same waiter/waitress every night in the restaraunt so they become very much a part of yoru family and they even have your drinks ready at your table when you arrive at your scheduled time! Stateroom QualityBeds a little firm for me, but that is because I like a mooshy bed! :) Ship Staff QualityWe didn't meet a cranky person in the bunch. Entertainment & ActivitiesAlways something to do! Watching the big screen movie on Lido Deck (outside) in the evenings were great!!! Children's ProgramsWonderful, my daughter had so much fun she wanted to spend more time there then she wanted to spend with us! We had to make her come to dinner with us (they could eat with the camp friends on certain nights). The staff remembered her name and always made her feel welcome. They opened at 8 am and closed at 9 pm for free camp, they also had evening activities (9 pm - 3 am) for a VERY reasonable cost!!!

Halifax, Nova ScotiaI don't walk well so we took a wheelchair with is, after our whale watching excursion, we headed to the shopping, it poured down rain so we headed back to the ship. It looked like there was plenay of things to do unfortunately, we just couldn't do too much!
Don't Miss: The whale watching excursion we purchased on the ship was well worth the money, it was a fun and very informative excursion! Saint John, New BrunswickSmall, but historical.
Don't Miss: Eat at STEAMERS right near the port...my husband said the lobster was the best he ever had. Reasonable priced!! Fresh caught and cooked, so fresh it even had coral growing on its head!!! 6 out of 8 people found this review helpful.

Excellent 1st Cruise, more will follow. by
Dennis from Denver, Co. Sailing date: Sep 2006Pros: The variety of activities, pools, casinos, shopping, etc. We really enjoyed the shows and entertainment on the days and nights at sea. The excursions at the different ports are memories that we shall never forget, swimming at Meagan's Bay, scubba diving, the tours. There was so much to do that we'll be doing more cruises to see and do more. The dinners were fabulous in the main dining rooms, and the buffets and other food services ensured we were always well fed and catered to. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Excellent Cruise Experience. You will see us again. Entertainment & Activities

  Trip exceeded our expectations. by
Jordan E. from Illinois Sailing date: Jan 2011Pros: Staff was very friendly and genuine. Cons: Aging adults with a frat party mentality that drink and smoke too much and make fools of themselves. We have limited cruise experience and none on Carnival. I had not assumed that Carnival was going to be as nice as some other cruise lines, but would be fine for our children -- and I was wrong. The crew/staff of the Triumph were better than any on our prior ships. The entire experience within the control of the cruise line and their employees was competent and friendly. We would definiately use them again and recommend them to others. Ship Quality

  Great Ship Triumph by
Teresa S from Pensacola Fl Sailing date: Apr 2010Pros: we had the best table and waiters - early dinning Cons: embarking and debarkation The cruise entertainment was excellent - our state room and dining experiences Great.
The captains night - was a joke I have never been to one as bad -
The other complaint is the intercom system it does not need to be used so frequently
I don't need to know about bingo - etc... I can read the daily paper -
Ship Quality1st time I have ever stayed on the Lido deck and I found it easy to get around the ship. Dining/Foodate in the restaurant most of the time and loved it - Pizza was sooo good Stateroom QualityI would like to be able to get in on both sides of the bed. Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activitiesall the shows where good some right up there with Vegas style. 4 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

  A Funtastic Cruise!! by
Jeremy S. from Austin, TX Sailing date: Jan 2012Pros: The accomodations, friendly staff, and the excursion we went on Cons: last couple nights we had bad service in the London dining room, too many people to enjoy the hot tub or pools Overall I had a great time and I would definitely do it again. It was a lot of fun and the ship was very accomodating and service was excellent. Ship QualityThe ship was in great shape. The staff did a fantastic job of keeping the ship in tip top shape and looking new! There was a hot tub that was out of service though but it was not a show stopper. Dining/FoodThe food was very good and I ate WAY too much!! Stateroom QualityThe rooms were very nice and I do not have any complaints about the room. Ship Staff QualityThe staff was very friendly and very helpful. Never any incidents where they went above and beyond though. Entertainment & ActivitiesI like the shows except the musicals, they are a bit ridiculous. The comedy shows were excellent and so was the magic show. Cut out the musicals and hire more comedians so the one comedy show won't be so packed. 5 out of 7 people found this review helpful.

  A bit disappointed by
Gary P from Hillsboro Texas Sailing date: Dec 2011Pros: The casino Cons: Way too crowded and way too many children!!! This was our first cruise. We were looking for fun and relaxation without the kids. Well, the ship was at full capacity with 3,400 passengers and 1,100 crew. About 4,500 people in all. Way too crowded. It was like Christmas shopping in a crowded mall the day before and everyone was hustling for the last minute special. Additionally, there were children running around unsupervised all over, including the supposedly adults only areas. One exception was the casino. They did pretty good at keeping the children away. The food was average. Some of the entertainment couldn't be enjoyed due to all the kids running around. My wife and I asked if there were any adult only cruises. Apparently there aren't unless it is chartered or a gay/lesbian type thing. We have decided that resorts may be out best answer. It is easy to find an adult only resort, the food is slightly better in my experience, there are lush plantlife to enjoy, and I don't have to deal with so many things costing so much. For example, a bottle of wine purchased for $5.00 at Walmart cost $25.00 on the ship. There are lots of opportunity to get photographs taken but they cost $21.00 for each picture. Ship Quality

  Great 5 day Cruise by
Michele S. from Willington, CT Sailing date: Jun 2009Pros: Great Service Cons: 4a cabin Great 5 day Cruise!!
We had a GREAT cruise and found the ship and crew were wonderful!! One of our better Cruises!!
Cabins: We had inside cabin on Deck One/forward. Not bad...again got a great price for this cruise. Plenty of space. Notice some vibration but not uncomfortable. Didn't get a basket of goodies...but room was clean. Room stewards were good...very quick in cleaning and got the famous towel animals every night!
Food: Great! in London Dining room-upper floor. Great service from waiter...always a smile! Had great table mates (Bill and Katie). We sat at a table for 8 but only the 4 of showed up! Best meal for me was the Lamb chops and prime rib! Buffet food was good and pizza plentiful and grill great! Hot Pastrami.........yummy!!
Entertainment: We really enjoyed the shows. Big productions...great customes and set designs. Jorge the cruise director was sick so we only really saw him on the 1st night and last day. What little we saw of him...was very funny.
Ports:
Saint John: We decided not to book anything via the ship and try our luck off the ship. EVERYBODY is so friendly. Our plans was to hang around town. The greeters very helpful...she told us to take a city bus to Reversing Falls (2.50 pp). Interesting spot....try to see the little movie there...very informative about the falls (in the restaurant). We walked back, took about 50 mins...glad we took the bus there...up hill going...easy walk going back. We then went to the City Market. Interesting mix of local foods and crafts. Tried the dried seaweed....!!!
Halifax:
Again...the locals were very friendly. We booked the Hop on/Hop off bus on the ship. Cheaper then booking in port... Nice informative tour but not worth the cost (49.00)...we got off the Maritime Museum (great exhibit on Titantic). We went to Keith Brewery and decided to go the restaurant (Red Stag) there vs taking the tour (26.00). DH got a beer sampler and I got the corn chowder...very good!!! The weather was cool and rainy off and on. We decided to walk back to the ship and wished we did that instead of taking the bus tour. If the weather was better we would have tired to see Peggy's Cove
Overall the ports were nice....would have been better if weather was cooperating.
Tip: Check out the secrect decks on 9th and 10th floors all the way forward (doors in between 2 cabins). Great spot to veiw the Statue of Liberty...starboard side. Ship Quality

  Carnival Triumph by
A Traveler from Mid west Illinois Sailing date: Jun 2010Pros: Food, entertainment, easy to drive to the ship, Cons: Some areas seemed to have a sewage problem, they were doing maintenance, tearing out cielings to fix pipes. Luckily the sewage smell was not near our cabin. Not enough free classes, many desireable classes had a surcharge. Ship QualityThe exerise equipmemt had several items that were "Out of Service" and the remaining items were always in use. The work out gym was dissapointing. Dining/Food

Cozumel, MexicoPlenty of stores right off the ship, no need to take a $15 taxi ride inland.
-Port Parking in New Orleans,- save half the cost, park in parking deck across the street from the terminal, "Fulton Place Parking Center" no long lines, free shuttle, $10/day. Look for the sign that says "Cruise Parking"
Don't Miss: We took the Catamaran-Snorkel-Beach party trip. We had a funtastic time for $59/ea. Do it again! 4 out of 5 people found this review helpful.

  Mixed review. by
Lori from Columbus, OH Sailing date: Mar 2007Pros: Size. I found the stateroom service and dining service to be good. The entertainment was lacking and personnel in the dance club were rude. When we reported this there was no action taken. Personally I do not think I will take a cruise again. There was just not enough time spent at the ports for my personal preference.
