Worst Cruise Ever by
Casey A. from Ann Arbor MI Sailing date: Mar 2012Pros: Half Moon Cay was really nice. Cons: The Staff I have been on several of the Carnival ships and have always had a Great time and experience...not this time...I hope it was just a fluke but as of right now I wont be cruising Carnival again. The staff had poor attutidues with the exception of one or two. The ability to get any service in the bars was poor, at the adult only pool you could not get past the kids to get a drink, and if you did then the bartender would tell you to hold on until he got the kids what they wanted. A Great Value! by
Erica T. from Muskegon, MI Sailing date: Apr 2012Pros: The Dive-in Poolside Theater Cons: The wait to get back on the ship at Half Moon Cay. I loved the ship. We had a great location in the middle where we had easy access to our stateroom and all the fun activities. Ship Quality

  Five days in paradise by
A Traveler from Dearborn, MI Sailing date: Apr 2012Pros: Carnival's private island, Half Moon Cay Cons: Pools were too small The ship was cleaned by the crew constantly. Crew members were extremely friendly, out waitstaff and steward made sure to learn our names. The food was decent, nothing to brag about. Ship Quality

  Had a Great Time by
A Traveler from Florida Sailing date: Mar 2012Pros: Outstanding and Friendly Service Cons: Loud people in hallways late at night The ship was very nice. I really enjoyed the buffets and the dining room service. Overall, I had a great time. Carnival does draw a younger crowd, so there is more of a party atmosphere; however having said that, you don't have to participate if you don't choose to and there are plenty of options. I loved the Outdoor Movies at night! Ship QualityVery nice. Rooms are larger that other ships I have been on, but could use some updating. Public areas are very nice and well maintined.
I understand that that Destiny is going to be renovated this year. Dining/FoodDining room service was excellent. Food was very good with pleanty of variety. The buffets also provided good quality and many choices. Can eat around the clock if you like. Stateroom QualityLarge and very nice. Decor was outdated, but that is not important to me. It was clean and comfortable. The large Ocean view window was perfect! Could use new TV's however. Ship Staff QualityAll very courteous and pleasant. Very much customer oriented. Entertainment & ActivitiesShows were okay... but that would be the one area I would say could be improved based on previous cruises. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

  Not what was expected. by
Ryan B from midwest Sailing date: Mar 2012Pros: the stops Cons: carnival and food well kept. swimming pools too small, not enough going on for us. Ship Qualitydidn't like the layout, not enough outdoor space to sit out of the sun and away from smoke. pools oddly shaped Dining/Foodwould have expected more carribean food being in the carribean. Stateroom Qualitynice size for price Ship Staff Qualityoverall staff was not very friendly. did not see many smiles are willingness to help. our stateroom steward, Muhammad, was wonderful, greeted us by name and was very kind and friendly. Entertainment & Activitiesevents were not all listed with descriptions/explanations of each. did not make things sound interesting to go to. 1 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

  The Best Vacation Ever by
Yvonne M. from Jacksonville, FL Sailing date: Mar 2012Pros: Everything, the places, the food, the service, the activities Cons: Nothing The Carnival Destiny was a great ship. It had many versatile areas, like pools, basketball court, live music all over the ship, awesome shows, kid and teen clubs, outside movie screen, mini-golf, great spa and fitness center, incredible buffet's, wonderful dining rooms and service, pizza and ice cream all day long, etc. The rooms were very comfortable and service to the rooms better than any hotel I've stayed at. We loved the towel animals they made for us every day along with the chocolates. The fact that I didn't have to cook, clean, or plan any activities every day made it the best vacation ever for a great price. Ship QualityVery clean, great decor, great size and very accessible Dining/FoodExcellent quality of food, great ambiance, wonderful servers Stateroom QualityPerfect size and very comfortable Ship Staff QualityFriendly and helpful all the time Entertainment & ActivitiesLots of fun and great variety Children's ProgramsMy kids had a great time participating in various activities and meeting other kids on the ship 2 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

First and last cruise of my life by
A Traveler from kissimme,FL Sailing date: Mar 2012We were supposed to stop at Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay and Nassau, finally after 4 days is the ocean we could stop by Nassau. I understand the weather wasn't favorable but my question is "Couldn't we go in another direction?" The ship was clean but stinky, people was sick, throwing out everywhere. Why we had to go 2 days up to Grand Turk if (I think) They knew we won't be able to stop. And then keep going to Half Moon Cay where we (again) weren't able to stop, so 4 days up and down sick and closed in a ship with no activities. Even the water in the pools were cold. I wanted to get a plane and come back to Miami. This was my first cruise and my last one too. I will never go in a cruise again. Dining/Food

  Noisy, crowded & inconsistent by
A Traveler from New York, NY Sailing date: Feb 2012Pros: Guitar player, dining room service, comedian, kids activities Cons: crowds, lines for buffets, lines to sign in kids for camp carnival This ship is best for partiers. There are few quiet spaces on the ship, and even the adult pool was full of loud, obscenity-spouting drunks by the end of the days at sea. By 9 a.m. most of the deck chairs are reserved, despite signs saying they can't be. Lines at food stations are annoying and make it difficult to enjoy any of the specialty dining options. Ship QualityA bit too las vegas style but clean and well laid-out Dining/FoodFood was generally good and some options were surprisingly delicious. However, lines at buffets and specialty food stations were long. We had a defined dining time for dinner which worked great, and the dining room staff were incredible. Those with "your time dining" looked like they had to wait in LONG lines to get tables. Stateroom QualityStateroom was great. A few minor problems were fixed right away. Had a balcony stateroom on verandah deck, 1 floor below pools, very convenient. Ship Staff QualityHad great interactions with dining staff and room stewards. Activities staff were overwhelmed and not very accommodating. Guest services staff were unable or unwilling to help with problem situations. Entertainment & ActivitiesLoved the comedians. Some musicians were fair, some excellent. Children's ProgramsUnderstaffed but kids had a great time. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.
