Good cruise but not outstanding by
Stephen N. from Syracuse, NY Sailing date: Apr 2013Pros: Ship, Ports of Call, Entertainment Cons: Too many days at sea, with port cancellation The ship was modern, the right size, , clean, and user friendly. Nice atmosphere. Disappointed that we were given no onboard credit or upgrage, even thogh this was our first cruise with HAL. Ship QualityThe ship was modern, the right size, , clean, and user friendly. Nice atmosphere. Dining/FoodFood was good, but typical (not outstanding). The Lido buffet was as good (and sometimes better) than the Manhattan dining room. Stateroom QualityAverage, typical, no upgrade offered. Ship Staff QualityMost of the staff was friendly. Entertainment & ActivitiesOnboard entertainment was above average. Musicians were excellent. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

One of the best cruises we ever had by
Roger T from Lake Worth FL Sailing date: Apr 2013Pros: Everything was top notch/ first class all the way Cons: Couldn't find anything The minute we step onto the ship we were impressed by the beauty of the ship and it's staff. Top notch all the way. Food, staff and passengers were great! This was the best cruise ever. We wouldn't think twice about sailing on Holland America again. In fact, we are all ready looking for our next cruise in the fall and we are sure it will be on Holland America once again. We never felt so special as we did on this trip. Want class, I suggest trying this cruise line. Ship QualityExcellent. Thought we were in a beautiful floating hotel. Fresh flowers everwhere. Dining/FoodDining room was very classy. Food was the best ever. Staff was fantastic. Stateroom QualityBiggest room we ever had on any ship. Very spacious and very clean. Ship Staff QualityCouldn't ask for a better staff. Many would call us by name every time they saw us. Great personal touch. Entertainment & ActivitiesA wide variety for all to enjoy. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

  An excellent cruise. by
PamB. from Salt Lake City, Utah Sailing date: Aug 2011Pros: Well run, very clean ship. Service was excellent. Cons: Swimming pools were small which made them very crowded. Beware wet deck are very slick. They pushed the retail a bit too hard for my liking, and it would have been nice to find some boutique styled clothing than just the typical t-shirt. Staff very friendly and helpful, although one staff member in photography could have had an attitude adjustment. Overall, very clean, very efficiently run, fun place to play. The experience was fabulous, and the exit and entry to various ports of call were made very smooth and efficient. Ship QualityReally need to redesign the pool. Too small for the passengers it serves. Barcelona, Spain
Corfu, Greece
Civitavecchia (Rome), ItalyVery (VERY) crowded. I think best time of year to visit would be in late August as it was incredible hot.
Catania, Sicily
Dubrovnik, Croatia
Argostoli, Kefalonia, Greece
Santorini, GreeceAbsolutely stunning place and it is the picture postcard image of what one visualizes of the Med.
Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy
Naples, Italy
Venice, ItalyAmazing city. One place I would love to explore for longer than a day. Dining was seriously overpriced and obviously designed to hit the wallet of tourists. Otherwise incredible experience that should not be missed.

  A Classic Ship by
A Traveler from Bucks county, Pa Sailing date: Jan 2011Pros: The service, food, and cabanas. a classic ship with above average service, very good food, and average entertainment.
I had a great week!
I stayed in a suite (ss) and it was the best bathroom I ever had on a cruise ship. Larger then my bathroom at home. There was also a generous amount of storage for three people. The beds were comfortable but not as comfortable as my pillow top mattress at home. The balcony was more than adequate for three people to have breakfast, or to sit and read. One thing that was very, very nice was the cabana that I reserved for the week, I just loved it. The service was excellent at the cabana and I never had to worry about a chair at the pool.
Would sale on this ship again. Ship QualityThe best Lido dinning room I ever experienced on a cruise ship. Neat, clean, and the variety of food was amazing. Dining/Food

Entertainment & ActivitiesLoved the kitchen tour.
Although this may not mean much to some people I was thrilled that religious services were available for those who choose to participate daily. This will make me thnk of Holland America again. 18 out of 18 people found this review helpful.

  Outstanding in all areas by
Tim S from Michigan Sailing date: Mar 2011Pros: Outstanding service and Cons: Timing for some of the ports The ship is beautiful. Clean and wonderfully appointed. The service was outstanding with an attentive and friendly crew and staff ready to help at all times. The meals were varied and well prepared. The port of calls were fun and interesting.
The entertainment was top notch. Having cruised on several other lines we found this to be our best cruising experience to date. Our other cruises were great this line and ship were just a cut above the rest. Ship Quality
