a wonderful trip by
A Traveler from NYC Sailing date: Nov 2009Pros: room service Cons: buffet it's good to take Caniva ship. but it's not too good to choose the biggest one because so many people on one ship means you have to wait a long time for many things. Ship Quality

Carnival Dream W. Caribbean cruise by
A Traveler from Out West Sailing date: Dec 2009Pros: New, clean, well maintained ship Cons: Noisy cabins, limited time on shore New ship, very well maintained.
Good food, comparable to upscale hotel.
Noisy cabins, with poor sound proofing.
Limited time for shore excursions. Ship Qualitynew ship, spotlessly clean and well maintained Dining/FoodGreat food, comparable to an upscale hotel. Super Sushi and Indian restaurants. Stateroom QualityNicely appointed cabins, but each designed with a ventilator in the hallway door that allowed considerable hallway noise into the cabin that can disturb sleep, and also puts a damper on your privacy. Ship Staff QualityGreat housekeeping staff and attentive dining room staff. Cruise activities staff a bit loud and pushy. Entertainment & ActivitiesIf you are going to the caribbean for Las Vegas-style gambling and shows, this ship has quite a bit of it. If you're going to the Caribbean to see tropical islands, be warned that on a 7 day cruise, they only stop 4 times, and then for only a short partial-day stay at each stop. Also, at 2 of the 4 stops (at Roatan and Costa Maya), the ship ties up at a fake, plastic-looking tourist trap with a wall around it, that could have been built in Florida. So, if you're an insecure traveler that wants a wall to block you off from the island, this is good, but if you'd like to experience the real caribbean, their destination choices leave a bit to be desired. Also, the time they allow ashore is severely limited. For example, at the last stop, we were only allowed off the ship from mid-morning to mid-afternoon, not nearly enough time to enjoy an unhurried visit ashore. Children's ProgramsA lot of screaming poorly supervised kids running in the hallways. 17 out of 19 people found this review helpful.

Carnival Dream was a Nightmare by
Randy B. from Nashville,Tn. Sailing date: Oct 2010Cons: Food was the worst of 6 other Carnival ships I have been on This is the worst ship in the Carnival fleet. The staff does not care if you come back or not. They just want to do the 7 days and kick you off and get more on. I have been on 4 Carnival Cruises in the lastnine months and all were great EXCEPT this one. Bigger is not always better. The staff was terrible , and the ship smelled like sewage. Stay away from this one. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodFood was good at all of the buffets , but was terrible in the Main dining room. Stateroom QualityBalcony room air conditioner was out. Complained three times and the first two, they said that 74 deg at night, in the summer was acceptable,it was not. on the fourth day they found out that the heat was on and would not go off. They tore apart the cieling to pull it out. Ship Staff QualityThere were too many people on this ship that did not care if you were taken care of or not. They told me that their ships were booked full and did not care who returned. Entertainment & Activities

Dream ship not such a "dream" by
Val M from Wausau WI Sailing date: Jan 2011Pros: Very large - beautiful ship Cons: too crowded, very unfriendly staff (no smiles at all!) and food less than impressive This ship is just OK... very long lines for food, very slow service, and impossible to get a chair to sit in the sun. With so many people on board it was always congested. The shows were not good at all with the exception of a magician which was fabulous. Also, the food was very cheap, everything tasted like it had gelatin in it to "stretch" the food - no taste. One late night buffet only which was had very little "pazazz" - wouldn't pick this shp again. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodBuffet (lido) deck was very very congested, service very slow, very unfriendly people on this ship (service staff) Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff Qualitypaid a lot of money to have a special "treat" of a spa experience. This was very nice however was pressured into buying spa products or the staff member wouldn't let me leave (felt required to buy!) - got out of room only to return item that I didnt' want. Entertainment & Activitiessingers were not good at all - didnt enjoy the entertainment. Children's Programs

  Locations were wonderful by
A Traveler from Tampa, FL Sailing date: Jun 2010Pros: Ports Cons: Food Quality The locations were wonderful, however the ship food quality was horrible and the ship moved excessively. If you get sea sick I wouldn't book a cruise on this boat, but I would cruise to these ports. Ship QualityTo much ship movement for a ship of this size Dining/FoodPoor Food quality, never had one good meal from start to finish Stateroom Quality

  Western Caribbean in December by
Gary K. from north Florida Sailing date: Dec 2009Pros: newness of the ship, size of the ship Cons: long lines for the buffet, occasional bad smell on part of deck 2 In building this new big ship, it seems that they added decks of staterooms but didn't necessarily increase the size of the buffet and restaurants. Otherwise, a fabulous ship and wonderful cruise. Ship Quality

Good, but not Great Cruise by
Andrea S.--my 60th cruise! from Washington, DC Sailing date: Aug 2012Pros: Fantastic staff/waiters/crew, good food, excellent ports Cons: Entertainment (shows), long buffet lines Very good! Ship QualityThe ship was attractive in a Las Vegas style, clean and easy to navigate, although maps were scarce. Stateroom was very comfortable and larger than some other ships. Lots of storage space. Loved the artwork on the stairs and in public areas. Dining/FoodGood variety and preparation. Excellent selections at lunch with pasta bar, tandoori and several other subspecialty stations. Loved the sushi! Excellent waiters. But, we know well enough to plan for a set seating, not "anytime" dining. Our waiters knew us and our service was personalized. Made was our waiter at table 128. Stateroom QualityGreat staff, nice amenities like the mini fridge and the flat screen TV. Lots of room and storage. Ship Staff QualityGReat cruise director staff and wait staff and cabin staff. EVeryone we encountered was helpful and friendly. Entertainment & ActivitiesProduction shows were loud and irritating. All the songs were "overdone" in screechy voices. Worse yet, it was evident that the cast was lip synching. Other entertainers were great in the atrium and casino. Outdoor screen was under used and could have had a better selection of movies. Trivia contests and other games weren't much fun because there was only "team" competition (half the room vs. the other half). The ship on a stick prizes were awful. C'mon, can't they afford a key chain or a pen or something small with a logo instead of those stupid plastic pieces of junk that we all threw away immediately or refused to take. RCCL does it right and I have the key chains, flashlights, hats, wallets, umbrellas, bags and countless other items to prove it. It's good advertising! 6 out of 7 people found this review helpful.

We had the best time!!!! by
A Traveler from Orlando, FL Sailing date: Aug 2011Cons: Not enough elevators or clocks The ship was beautiful, the staff was excellent, my only real complaint is the parents on board who let there kids act like animals and ruin everyone else's vacation. If you don't want to watch them don't bring them because I am not watching them for you!! Ship Quality

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.Super friendly people and beautiful island
Philipsburg, St. MaartenMy only suggestion here is to take the water taxis wherever you need to go, DO NOT use the regular taxis, we were dropped off by one after asking to go downtown and she let us out 3 blocks away in a not so great part of town!!

He was at our becon call everytime we were at our room. His name was Bernie from the phillipines. Entertainment & Activitiesthe magic show was too adult for some children but we enjoyed the act.
