Fun Cruise
by Aly G from Monterey CA
Sailing date:
Jan 2013
Pros:
the food
Cons:
unheated pools, lack of clocks
The cruise was pretty fun. I went with my boyfriend and we had a blast. the rooms were bigger than expected and the food was great! The weather was cold and windy so we wished the pools were heated since the hot tubs were always full and we hoped for more activities on the last day at sea. but otherwise a great trip with the best staff! We will be going again in Sept with a big group of friends this time :)

Carnival Splendor Cruise
by Donna N. from San Francisco, CA
Sailing date:
Dec 2012
Pros:
The zip lining adventure in Cabo
Cons:
The horseback riding in Puerto Vallarta
Carnival Splendor provided an excellent vacation. It was incredibly clean and the staff was superb. They were above par on service and went beyond their service many times. I highly recommend this vacation

Dining/Food
The buffets could have added a selection of pastas and there could be an additional restaurant, but overall if anyone did not have any food, it was their own fault. When you have to serve 4000 people at varying times, the service was quite excellent!

Technical Problems
by Darrell O from Rio Vista, CA
Sailing date:
Dec 2012
Pros:
Food & Service
Cons:
Schedule changes, missed excursions, minimal land time
Nice ship; but had propulsion problems which changed the entire schedule. The extra time at sea meant 2 of 3 excursions had to be canceled. We were kept in the dark about where & when until too late to make plans. Food was good & the crew was great. Less entertainment and dancing than on prior cruises.

The crew was professional and attentive. Dining in the Black Pearl met our expectations. The server, Stan, was exceptional and offered menu suggestions at every meal.

Ship's crew, service crew, and the meals were totally enjoyable and attentive. The entertainment was fun. The whole trip seemed like just a few days.

This ship is a Toilet !
by Never sail Splendor again... from Southern Ca
Sailing date:
Sep 2012
Pros:
I enjoyed Disembarking from this Mis-Hap of the Sea
Cons:
Mostly Everthing, The decor, I thought it was from the 60's, Horrible Black and Pink
We are non smokers, The dinning rooms are located on deck 3 & 4 Which Carnival Closed access to, and they forced you to have to go up to Deck 5 Through the SMOKE Filled Casino. the get to elevators bringing you back down to 3 & 4 again, If you don't understand. You could not walk deck 3 or 4 to eat, you had to go up to 5 then down again, what a marketing Scam. Also the Dance Area the Red Room, SMOKE FILLED, RED Nightmare of a room

Pros:
friendliness of the staff
Cons:
that they even charge for soda
this was our first time on a cruise ship. We really enjoyed the cruise but ship seems old and the decor seems outdated. There were some part of the ship that smells like toilet overflow. It was suppose to be all inclusive but they charge for sodas.

Great Time
by A Traveler from Southern California
Sailing date:
Jul 2012
Pros:
Our cabin was very nice, clean and comfortable. The pool was terrific. Our dinner tablemates were such fun that we decided to not change table location. The latin band was fantastic. I'm still tired.
Cons:
The location of our dinner table was not good at all. It was right in traffic, employee access area. The area did not seem very clean. The food was ok. The flat iron steak was tough and overcooked both times I ordered it.
The ship was great. Very pretty. The venues were very nice. I especially liked the Splendor Lobby Bar.
