The Ports were amazing by
C. McMullin from United States Sailing date: Mar 2013Pros: All of them Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, Antiqua and St. Thomas Cons: the food did not cater on a whole to Kosher individuals. The Ports of call were amazing and the weather was fantastic. However on a whole I think they should cater to Kosher individuals on a whole, I don't think that we should have to put a special order in for kosher foods. This was disappointing on a to be in a pork smelled environment. Ship Quality

  Great cruise! by
Valerie W. from Indianapolis, IN Sailing date: Feb 2013Pros: Very nice ship that has been recently updated. Everything was clean and looked new. Staff was friendly and helpful. LOVED the thalassotherapy pool. Spent a few evenings there relaxing after dinner. Also liked the AquaSpa healthier options for breakfast and lunch. Cons: Nothing, really. The The ship was great. Very clean and new. Friendly and helpful staff. Variety of food selections, which you'd expect on a cruise. We loved the thalassotherapy pool, which was very relaxing. Ship QualityThe ship is pretty big, so I still don't think we saw all of it in the week we were on it. Everything was very clean and well maintained. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't a deck that you could walk all the way around the ship on the outside. The very front and back were restricted. Dining/FoodAs you'd expect on a cruise, there's almost always food available. I liked the AquaSpa healthier options for breakfast and lunch, so I didn't have to deal with the breakfast crowd to get my morning oatmeal. We did the select/flexible dining and usually went around 6:00 and were always seated right away. The main dining food was good and there was a good variety, though I was a little disappointed by the lack of local-type or Caribbean-style options for dinner. Most of the menu items seemed like things you could have anywhere. Stateroom QualityWe had an oceanview stateroom. It was nice, though the layout was a little cramped. Wasn't expecting anything spacious, but I don't usually unpack my clothes and put them in drawers, but we really had to because there wasn't much room to set our suitcases out and no moveable luggage racks. Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & ActivitiesWe didn't find many things to do in the evenings, since my husband wasn't too interested in the shows. Some of the things we were interested in, like wine tastings, charged an extra fee. There were several things scheduled each night, just nothing that really suited our interests. It was all right though, because we just relaxed on deck or in the hot tubs. 2 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

A Delightful Cruise with Family by
Katherine P. from BayShore, NY Sailing date: Jun 2012Pros: Everyone was together, yet we were able to do our own thing! Cons: Aqua Spa area and ice cream bar!!! (Inside joke) Fabulous! I was so pleased to hear that in January the ship was in dry dock and had a "make over". Celebrity knows what they are doing! Ship Quality

  Impeccable service, great cruise! by
Kelly from Nashville, TN Sailing date: Feb 2012Pros: Service, Attention to every need Cons: Never in port during evening The ship itself was fantastic. Plenty of bars and restaurants, the people were happy and ready to serve every need. The rooms were extremely clean and nice. We stayed in a room with a window, and it was great. Ship QualityThey were still working on redoing the top deck in the back of the ship, which I think is going to be a lawn area. Had that been done, I would give it 6 smileys. Dining/FoodThey didn't pair us with people on the same beverage package, which made it somewhat awkward when ordering wine at dinner. Stateroom Quality

relaxing or busy as you like by
George M from St Paul, MN Sailing date: Feb 2012Pros: food and service The Summit is 10 years old, and certain things show their age (deck chairs, a few service doors, tile in the bathrooms etc.). Still, it is generally very well maintained and had had recent additions to make it more comparable to the Solstice-class ships. The food and over-all service is excellent, which is typical of Celebrity. The new Qsine restaurant is very fun and different from the main dining experience. Highly recommended! The ship has a pleasant and roomy feel in public areas (excluding the main dining and casino, of course) so there are few times that it feels crowded or loud. One oddity was the music choice - loud disco beat in the formal dining room, which tended to be turned off each night at the request of diners, but started again the next evening. This may seem like a small thing, but it really changes the tenor of the experience. Serene, new age by the pool, which didn't bother me, but I heard some wishing for a more exciting atmosphere. If you're wanting an experience of excellent service, and good food, Celebrity continues to be an excellent option. If you're wanting high-energy, loud and raucous, it probably isn't your best option. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodThe new Qsine restaurant is fantastic! Watch for drink pricing, particularly in the Martini Bar. A vodka gimlet cost almost twice as much there - ouch. Stateroom QualityStarting to look a little worn... Ship Staff QualityAlways well-trained and courteous. Of course you can always find exceptions, but the service is great. Entertainment & Activities

Eh??? The food not what we hoped. by
3rd Cruise... not a charm from North Dakota Sailing date: Jan 2012Pros: The boat was beautiful, the service excellent Cons: The food was not great... not even close. The newly refurbished ship was very nice. It was super clean. Unlike other ships it was decorated with class. It didn't look like a strip club exploded like some of the others, no ugly neon lights... nice color schemes, tasteful.
Ship QualityThe layout for me was confusing, but that wasn't the ships fault, I just couldn't get my directions straight.
The ship was super clean... I had to use a public bathroom a couple times and they were spotless. Everything was very well maintained. Dining/FoodThe lines for the buffets were not very well set up, it was hard to figure out where to start and people were going in all directions.
There were a few really good things but I didn't want to eat those items every night. I didn't think there was much of a variety, for example, the carved meat section, it was ham every night! On other cruises there was ham, beef roast, pork loin, prime rib... We only attended the main dining room twice and were very disappointed both nights. All in all I would say, the desserts (cheese cake especially) the bread were all very good the buffet was good, some was really good-stir fry and pasta stuff, but the main dining room, I wouldn't walk across the street to eat at again. If I were going to rate JUST that I'd say a zero but beings the other stuff was being counted I gave it a 2. Stateroom QualityVery nice rooms, clean and pretty comfortable. Ship Staff QualityStaff was excellent. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  Best trip ever by
Michelle M from Maryland Sailing date: Apr 2011Pros: The staff was the friendliest people on board, the rooms and food where A+ the excursions...beautiful Cons: The bus trips, felt like a cattle call, the islaners tried to put tooo many people on each bus There aren't enough words to say how wonderful this trip was, this was our first cruise and from the ease of booking threw ORBITZ and the sites, sounds, food I have nothing to compare it too. The most wonderful part was when one of the excursions we booked through ORBITZ didn't have a showing enough for the owner to take the catamaran out he stood by our tickets and showed us the time of our lives. The best short term cruise ever by
Audrey E from Puerto Rico Sailing date: Mar 2011Pros: layout of the ship- genuinely friendly personnel-lectures Cons: beauty personnel too pushy The getting on/off of cruises is cumbersome and slow..but travel has changed anyway.
the ship was older but very well planned. Very good effort in maintenance. Clean. Dining/Foodshellfish and fish tend to be overcooked when brought to table. Other meals good flavor and creative pairings. Dining time about 30 min.too early for us. Like open seating. Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff Qualityseemed to act and react genuinely helpful. Entertainment & ActivitiesAmazing array of talent and offerings considering the short duration.

Summit is still a wonderful ship! by
Dan and Sue S from Detroit, MI Sailing date: Feb 2011Pros: food, entertainment, layout, enclosed spa, staff, efficiency of embarkation and departure Cons: some public areas showing wear or 'dating' The Summit is a great ship in a fine Company that still values quality, sophistication, and passenger service. This is a large ship, but not a mega-liner. This is our 3 rd time on the Summit; and it continues to offer excellent food - one side of the menu is the same; the other side changes daily for dinner in the main dining room. Main Theatre entertainment equal to Broadway/Las Vegas shows. Louge entertainment is excellent - dancing available. Classical music also offered. The Lido Cafe and Spa organic/gourmet options are very high quality, with nice diversity. Oriental, British, even Sushi choices, ice cream and sorbet (all free). The crowd is quieter, a bit more mature, but plenty of honeymooners, families, and true seniors. Europeans all around, as well. This is still a classic, beautiful ship, with lovely wood trims, art all around, and class. The deck bar staff are not intrusive at all. Smoke free Casino is a real treat. Plenty of room to spread out all over the ship. Cabin staff were fine (missed not having wrapped towel animals; but we survived). You can still find the disco and late night partying, if so inclined. No compromise on quality or variety in all food areas. Ship Qualityto have a $38 million refurbishment that is planned this year. Dining/FoodGreat variety, quality, new options every day all over the ship. Spa breakfast and lunch choices are a 'secret'; but well worth exploring each day. Stateroom QualityWe had a lovely porthole cabin with refrigerator, love seat, small table, plenty of closet and drawer space. Ship Staff Qualityfriendly staff. Ship officers always around the decks and mingled with passengers in theme events. Entertainment & ActivitiesWonderful productions each night, 'clean' funny comic, European acrobat couple were a real treat. Singing and dancing equal to the best anywhere. 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful.
