Excellent Value
by Andrea P from Birmingham, AL
Sailing date:
Apr 2012
Pros:
friendly service, good food
Cons:
Ship in much need of refurbishing
Service was excellent with great attituded by all. Best food of any cruise line (incl. HAL and Royal Carribean). Enjoyed main dinining room and especially loved the 5 course/wine pairing dinner in Olympic. Ship in much need of refurbishing, but aware of such when booked. Still, public areas were very clean and cabin bed confortable. However, despite repeated attempts to correct had A/C problemns in cabin so that it was overly warm entire trip. Noticed that the entire aft area was warm, as was 10th deck buffet area. If weather had been hotter, would have been miserable. Kudos on non-smoking casino. Enjoyed the clean air and friendly low key dealers. Entertainment was top notch -- esp. Broadway Revue with excellent sets, costumes and vocals.

An amazing first cruise!
by Sarah S. from Cincinnati, OH
Sailing date:
Mar 2012
Pros:
The ship was beautiful and clean. The buffet was delicious and open almost the entire day. Dining food was delicious. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Cons:
Beverage packages were expensive. Bar service in the dining room was slow. The last night the bar waiter took our beverage orders; he never returned.
This was our first cruise, but we thought the ship was absolutely beautiful. The rooms and public areas were clean and updated. We were told this is a smaller ship compared to others, but with a four night cruise, we still were only able to see only half of the ship. We thought it was extremely nice and were impressed!

Always clean!
Dining/Food
New and different options each night in the dining room! The bar service in the dining area was fair at best. Our waiter and assistant waiter did a nice job and were friendly.
Stateroom Quality
We had a balcony room and it was absolutely beautiful. It was tastefully decorated with a nice open view. For the two of us we had plenty of space and plenty of storage. We were treated to a complimentary bottle of champagne and fruit dish upon the arrival of our room. We were always given an after lunch snack of cheese/crackers etc. The room was kept cleaned and organized.
Ship Staff Quality
Everyone staff member on the ship went above and beyond. Everyone was friendly. Our stateroom attendant Derrick, was great. He helped us...we had lots of questions being first time cruisers. Our bed was always made by the time we came back from breakfast and after dinner our bed was turned down with mints to share. He also left a variety of fresh flowers in the room each day...nice touches!

by Laura O from Coon RApids, MN
Sailing date:

Pros:
enough to do
Cons:
shows were just ok
After reading some of the reviews concerned about condition of ship, seemed very nice layer out just like the new eclipse ship easy to get around ship. Understand this ship will be redone in february interested in seeing what they do and what they keep, very nice still, pool area getting worked over looking. Dissapointed that I purchased a bottle of wine to be delivered to dining room on our 2nd night as a gift to my cousin for her first cruise and got on the ship and there was the bottle in our room with the note, 2nd time with celebrity that this has happened, seemed not to care that they made the mistake, did nothing to fix it, like get it to the dining room so it can be chilled when we need it.

size was perfect
Dining/Food
Did not like that in the buffet they dished the food out for you, many servers seemed crabby also.
Stateroom Quality
We had a handicapped room for my cousin, wish all the rooms were that size, need a plug in near the beds though.
Ship Staff Quality
Great attitude with nearly all of the workers.
Entertainment & Activities
Juggler was GREAT, singers got old and the comedian was so, so, last cruise with eclipse we had shows similar to cirque de soleil that were great.

Only issue was understanding each other - some staff members did not understand. Example - serving - if you asked to ham or turkey you had to point at the item. They just did know. Wasn't just cold items it was the same at all stations. But EVERYONE was friendly and willing to help.

by Odette P. from Belgium
Sailing date:
May 2011
Pros:
Exceptional friendly crew - high standards of service
Cons:
ship needs to be refurbished - but that will be the case in near future
The ship is a sister ship of the Constellation with which I made a cruise last year. They both are very beautiful ships with many bars, restaurants, lounges etc. The level of service was very high. Crew was very friendly. Organization perfect. I'm looking out to my next cruise with Celebrity ! Entertainment and shows breathtaking !

Food Adequate / Not superior Freeport st
by Ely from NJ, USA
Sailing date:
Dec 2006
Pros:
Shows at nice were fantastic. Good excursions overall.
Overall, it was a good experience. We had a nice cruise, the desert buffet was spectacular in design and varieties. The major complaint is the stop in Freeport and not the greatest variety of soup and the lack of an ice cream machine. However, we overcame these obstacles and had a wonderful time with friends and family. The excursion to the Rain Forest in Puerto Rico was terrific.

This cruise did not live up to usual Cel
by Lee Pascale from US
Sailing date:
Jan 2007
Pros:
The nighttime shows in the lounge were excellent as they always are on celebrity.
This was a 55th aniversar cruise--it was a very special trip for us & some of our friends were with us. The dining staff did help with the celebration however, the line did nothing to add to the celebration.

We love transatlantic cruising on Celebr
by Annie from St. Louis, MO
Sailing date:
Nov 2006
Pros:
Two-story theater and the large atrium-type aqua pool area.
We have sailed on Celebrity Cruise lines several times and always receive excellent service from the stateroom attendants and wait staff. The food is great and the dining room staff is very attentive to your needs. We had a wonderful cruise around the Mediterrean and across the Atlantic. The weather was great for late November & early December. The only problem we encountered was at debarkation and this always seems to be a problem for transatlantic crossings. We were supposed to leave the ship at 8:00 am and fly out of Ft. Lauderdale at 11:00 am. Instead, it took forever for the ship to pass inspections (having been in Europe for several months) and we were not permitted to leave the ship until 10:30 -- so we missed all our flights and suffered through a VERY long travel day. It was truly a travel day from hell!
Ship Details:
Entertainment & Activities
Entertainment: Get rid of shows that feature jugglers, magicians, plate twirlers, etc. The same acts tend to move from ship to ship and become very repetitive! If you've seem them once . . .

A bit disappointed
by Lisa H from Hendersonville, NC
Sailing date:
Feb 2012
Pros:
Our state room, the service staff, and the ports of call
Cons:
No organization and bad communication within the crew. Ship is in desperate need of repairs.
The ship is feeling its age. There is an obvious need for restoration. The service on this ship did not compare to the Century (the main dinning room service was exceptional, however). Everything seemed very disorganized, and there seemed to be a lack of communication within the crew members.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Needs major repairs. I literally saw granite being held together with duct tape and paint chips floating in water on the floor in the spa areas.
Dining/Food
The Ocean Grill was a disorganized mess-mostly because the ship guests were pushy and self centered, the coffee was horrible and dinner had very little to offer. You must dine in the main dining room for dinner if you care about service and quality.
Stateroom Quality
It was nice. We had an accessible room, which gave us a little more space. Our room attendant was exceptional!
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activities
We tried to go to a dance class-too crowded. We tried to go to an "aperitif tasting"-the bar tender knew nothing about it. I took a yoga class (which I paid $12 for), and the instructor was unqualified-seemed to be making things up as he went along. We saw a juggler/comedian who was really great! A lot of things we missed because it conflicted with our dinner time.
