Fabulous Cruise!
by Mary Jane C. from Camarillo, California
Sailing date:
Oct 2011
Pros:
The food, staff, accommodations, entertainment and shore excursion packages!
Cons:
Naples
Rated the best large ship for a reason.... it is! We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise, food, activities and excursions. The ports were all fabulous other than the port of Naples....however we were book on a shore excursion to Sorrento which picked up from this port and was wonderful. I see the cruise line is making some port changes coming up and includes Bari Italy, which I would have enjoyed seeing as my son in laws family originated from this city. Celebrity Solstice is a gem. The staff so welcoming and accommidating, the food, great quality and the excursions really a good value and out of the way villas arranged to show us their culture, olive oil and wine making production. Montenegro, and Croatia are beautiful as are Italy and France. I would highly recommend. We celebrated our 32 on the cruise and so enjoyed the entire adventure!

What a Fantastic Voyage!
by A Traveler from Hawthorn Woods, IL
Sailing date:
May 2011
Pros:
Service, friendliness of the staff, experience of the life time!
Cons:
can't think of anything.
Seeing is believing, must take this cruise to believe how well the ship is finished and operated. Five star is not enough to rate this experience.

The truth is, it is overwhelmingly too much. But - don't jump into it all - because you will miss on the masterpieces of dinners that wait for you in the evening in the dining hall.

Ship Staff Quality
To give you an answer - NO - is not an option. They stand out because hardly anybody on the street provides this type of service.

Great Ship and our best Cruise yet!
by Bill S. from Jackson, MS
Sailing date:
Apr 2011
Pros:
We were upgrade to a Royal Suite and the food was great!
Cons:
One of Orbitz shore excursions was 1 hour late.
Overall, this is a very nice ship. Not as large as the newest ones, but that is fine. We go on these trips to get away from people :). For some reason we were upgrade to a Royal Suite. We never found out why, but who cares--it was great! The food on Celebrity is the best, because we've been on most the other cruise lines. Older crowd on this ship, so it was nice and quite :) Overall great Cruise!

Ship Quality
Very nice ship, not Brand new but very well kept up. Easy to get around in and not get lost when I've had too many beers :)
Dining/Food
Great food. Especially the buffet is unbelievable. We don't usually eat at the buffets, but this time we did. Dinner was also great, but you need to dress fro dinner every night :)
Stateroom Quality
What can I say, we were upgrade to a royal suite--Larger than my first NYC apartment :) Very clean!
Ship Staff Quality
Very friendly and very helpful!
Entertainment & Activities
Shows were good. On a smaller scale than some of the big ships. But Quality was good.

A Great Cruise
by Denise D. from Naperville, IL
Sailing date:
Aug 2010
Pros:
A beautiful ship
Cons:
Pool area is smaller than we expected
The Celebrity Solstice is a beautiful ship. The service was excellent. We chose the Select dining so that we could go to dinner whenever we wanted. We really liked that option. We never had to wait for a table. The food was excellent. They had 2 menus everynight, one was always the same and one was different every night, so there was always something good to choose from. The family pool area was a little small, but there was a beautiful adult pool.

Cons:

Staff and service was first rate. Food was excellent in variety, availability and taste. Entertainment was Vegas quality. Ports of call were good and there was not excessive pressure to take their excursions. This is our 7th cruise and the best.

Very well laid out, elevators were fast and never had a long wait.
Dining/Food
Service and quality was excellent. We did the open seating deal which allowed us to eat when we wanted and were glad we did.
Stateroom Quality
Balcony on rear of ship was not only cool, but allowed us some private time and a wonderful breakfast each morning by ourselves.
Ship Staff Quality
Stateroom attendant was constantly going beyond what was necessary with our room. Same with the matre'de and other waiters and staff.

The trolley tour was short and concise. The driver was knowledgable of the Caymans and was a good entertainter to bood. Pricing was high for gifts.

Tour was great. Beautiful scenery. Would like to live here. Best prices for gifts on the whole trip. Save your money till you get here.

A great birthday cruise!
by Michael R from Phoenix, AZ
Sailing date:
Sep 2009
Pros:
Beautiful ship, outstanding service!
Cons:
Some shore excurisions werent that great, but overall a good bargain.
The Solstice surely is a world class ship. The atrium is open and beautiful, the whole layout was way beyond what other ships offer. The cabin we had on the fan tail was excellent, the service was great. The beds were comfortable and better than other ships we have sailed on. I have not cruised Celebrity before but after this cruise they have won me over and I wont sail on other lines!
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Outstanding is all I can say. Clean, well layed out, easy to get around and spacious!
Dining/Food
Main dining was excellent, the quality of food was outstanding. Even the buffet was the best I have had on a cruise!
Stateroom Quality
Concierge class is the best way to go. Clean and well laid out cabin, comfortable bed and a large bathroom compared to other cruise lines.
Ship Staff Quality
Outsrtanding is all I can say, smiles everywhere. Loved the fact they werent always trying to "sell" me something as I have expirenced on other cruises.
Entertainment & Activities
Every night was exciting and fresh, loved the many musical venues all over the ship as well.

New Solstice Rises Above the Rest
by Jeff G. from Anchorage, Alaska
Sailing date:
Apr 2009
Pros:
Ship layout, quality of food, shows
Cons:
Slow dining room service, too many extra-charge restaurants
Sailed many Celebrity ships (and other lines too). New Solstice-class ship very modern with a superb layout. Large, yet half the passengers of other large ships. Only negative was the slow service in main dining. This ship has about 5 specialty "extra charge" restaurants, and it appears that the service has gone there. Food quality is excellent everywhere, even the casual buffet. The buffet now has food "islands" so people don't line up like sheep as usual. You just go to the island or station and get what want. Gym has top quality equipment and workout space. Sauna smaller than older ships. Six whirlpools, but always seemed filled, some people camp in there rather than heeding the 20 minute rule. Entertainment at the main showroom and smaller venues is top-notch. One lounge guitar/singer (Jefferson Ang) was incredible and knew every folk/pop song ever written from 60's to current hits. There is an "ice" martini bar with a frozen top to keep your drink cold, the room TV's are large flat-screens with a huge menu of free movies. On top is a huge real grass lawn and a Corning hot glass-blowing show. Embark/Disembark was smooth and no crowd at all, unlike other lines. Celebrity really is a cut above the other big 4 we have sailed, with Holland close second.

We booked on shore excursion with cruise, most of the time were on the bus, there were two stops, one stop was at Acropolis of Athens, they give us 40mins, but 4/5 of the time was bring us to the gift shop nearby. another stop was Olympic Marathon Stadium, only 10 mins, funny things was, they extended one hour to bring us to a coffee shop without telling us, most of the people stay on the bus wait for few people to go to the shop.

The ship was beautiful, great time
by Robert Nicholas from United States
Sailing date:
Jan 2010
Pros:
The ship and staff, very friendly
Cons:
Select seating dining, a mess
We sailed on the Solstice, large, beautiful ship. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful, they would come up to us and start a conversation. The only drawback was the Select Dining. We had reservations in the main dining room and still had to wait while they seated persons wiithout reservations. Other than that, a very restful and enjoyable cruise.

We missed shows because we were dining. The early show started at 6:00 pm, the same time we were preparing to eat at 8. The late show started at 9. while we were eating. If we had known the show schedule ahead of time, wo uld have adjusted dining time. The late shows has always started at 10 on all the other cruises we took, that is why we scheduled to eat at 8.
