Cons: The food was horrible in the buffet. The specility rest. food was good but who wanted to pay another 60-70 dollars a night just to have a good meal!!!!! This is the first time and can say I came back from a cruise apalled at the food they serve. Pros: Ship is beautiful, Decor. was very pretty. Balcony was great. Service was very good. Cons: The food at the windjammer@jade was terrible. My husband is not a pickey eatter but couldn't find much to eat there. I eat salad most of the time. The dining room was ok. but don't like the sitting assigning. Should be open sitting. Get with the times. Overall Rating: About the Reviewer: Age: 50 - 65 Cruise Experience: 4 - 6 cruises Traveler Type: Family w/young children Stateroom Type: Inside Wonderful cruise! by A Traveler from Michigan Sailing date: Feb 2013 Pros: All the activities and the friendly staff Cons: dinner seating arrangement were not as requested Very clean and lots of activities for all ages. Our family group, from ages 62 to 3 years all enjoyed it. Ship Details: Ship Quality Dining/Food Dining was excellent, missed the 5 star because we were not seated together as a group as requested. Had to spend an hour fixing our seating arrangements on first day. I had called twice to make sure our seating was correct and told we would all be together (we had a family of 15 in 4 rooms). Stateroom Quality Ship Staff Quality Entertainment & Activities We did not care for the Saturday Night Fever show. The other shows we watched were fabulous. Children's Programs The younger kids enjoyed it (ages 3-8), but our older grandchildren (ages 11) did not. They went the first day and did not want to return. Cons: The pool towel service is worse than awful! You have to stand in a long line to return a dirty towel.... who needs that on vacation....lines.....for dirty towels! The Promenade is wonderful, the shows were wonderful - the food, not so much....the service could have been better. And there was so much smoking on the ship - are we in 2013 or in 1950? Ship Details: Ship Quality There were a lot of rooms that we did not see much - I think they need to plan more for the Sphinx room - it was lovely. Dining/Food I thought Royal Caribbean was of higher class.... i think it ranks more in line with Carnival. That was not my impression going in.... Stateroom Quality The bedding was very comfortable - the bathroom amenities...not so much. Ship Staff Quality Everyone was very nice. Thank God for the specality restaurants which were outstanding. You could feel the ship moving a lot - more than when we were on the Freedom. It was clean, but the cleaning carts were in the hallways at all times. The chairs by the pool were so tightly packed together there was zero space to get between them. People had to climb onto their chairs from the front. The boat was packed like I have never seen before. Ship Details: Ship Quality It was nice. Dining/Food Food was very good. Chops and Portifinos were outstanding. Stateroom Quality Stateroom was nice. Ship Staff Quality Like I stated above- the crew seemed "off". Like they were all having a bad day. There were a couple that were friendly, but for the most part the majority seemed to be in a bad mood. The guy at the excursions desk was down right arrogant. Entertainment & Activities The shows were nice. Hairspray on the Oasis has been the best show by far though from all the RC ship's I have been on. We are unlikely to travel again with such a large group of people. Ten years ago we sailed on other RCL ships and had a terrific experience, but not this time. Trip was great the ports were super, we had quite a few clothes ruined because of the cleaning of hand rails and everything on board. Ship Details: Entertainment & Activities Activities: The ship was 5+Stars but with the virus on board we had clothes complete Ruined, my suit, and my wifes two evening gowns, because of the bleach cleaners, I would guess we ruined 1500.00 worth of dress clothes. We have been here 4-times we did a lot of our shopping her the price is right. Don't Miss: Do the local vendors they will work with you on prices. Labadee (Cruiseline Private Island) The high light of the trip, the island was beautiful. The water and area was something I will always remember. Want to go back. Nice & relaxing. Don't Miss: Just relax and take a swim its a beautiful place. George Town, Grand Cayman Pretty water, the place is getting so croweded we have been here 4 times now and I can see where the population has grown. Enjoyed seeing the island just doing tours. Don't Miss: Do the stingrays its something that is a must. Montego Bay, Jamaica Nice place. I would recommend to some one that has never been here to do it at least once. I think it is dirty compared to the last time we were here ( 2004 ). The local vendors were to pushy trying to make a sell.
