Very Enjoyable!!
by Kristie H. from Montgomery, AL
Sailing date:
Sep 2012
Pros:
The ship and staff
Cons:
The bed
This ship is easier to maneuver than others I have been on. Our room was at a point in the ship that we had access to everything, but had privacy as needed. It was just large enough, but not too big to get around in a hurry.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
The ship was well maintained and in great condition. Everything was clean and the fixtures, furnishings and carpets were new looking and not worn.
Dining/Food
The food was easy to get to and of course wonderful. Something for everyone. We ate lunch in the dining room one day and it was very nice as well and a change from the buffet.
Stateroom Quality
The room is small of course but large compared to others I have stayed in. Everything was clean and well maintained. The location of the room was excellent as far as being able to get everywhere and still maintain privacy. The bed was not as comfortable as others I have had. The beds are twin pushed together and there was nothing to hold the mattresses together making it difficult to keep them together. No biggie though overall.
Ship Staff Quality
100% THE BEST!!!!
Entertainment & Activities
Something for everyone. I did a lot of nothing, so it was fine for me. The shows were top notch quality, and very interactive and fun!

Would definitely do it again
by Shannon J from Louisville, Ky.
Sailing date:
Sep 2012
Pros:
The service was outstanding.
Cons:
Some of the food was mediocre.
I really enjoyed myself. This was the first time that we(my husband and I) have ever taken a cruise and it was worth every dollar spent. I will definitely do it again. There was always something going on and I really enjoyed it.

40th Wedding Anniversary Cruise
by A Traveler from Tappahannock, Virginia
Sailing date:
Aug 2012
Pros:
The Cayman Island excursion and Shows
Cons:
The limited time in Ocho Rios and the organization of the excurision there
The cruise was memorable. The entertainment, shows, excursion and dining were great. The staff was pleasant and the ship was elegant. We were told that the ship's staff would recognize our anniversary, but it did not happen. i would have preferred to have more time in Jamaica. Overall, it was a great cruise and we will return in the future.

Not that wonderful cruise
by A Traveler from Philadelphia
Sailing date:
Jul 2012
Pros:
Islands
Cons:
Food and organisation
For ship that supposed to be a fun and younger crowd ship it was very disappointing. Not much to do when not in port, entertainment not good and most for old ppl. It's not allot of bars or places where you can sit and enjoy music or just quite time, but most of the time they where closed for private gatherings. Food was not good quality and most of the time was warm at best.

Great ship and ports
by A Traveler from Mississippi
Sailing date:
Jun 2012
Pros:
The ports
Cons:
Too many kids. According to some of the staff, 1/3 of the passengers were children. Many of whom were allowed to run around unsupervised.
For the ship to be so large with so many passengers, we did not spend a lot of time in lines for food or other services.

Unfortunately, many of the shows were the same ones we saw on another ship a couple of months ago.

Great time
by A Traveler from Naples, FL
Sailing date:
Feb 2012
Pros:
The singers and dancers
Cons:
can't think of anything
Carnival Freedom was a clean, well set up ship. Our cabin was great. The larger shower and counter and sink were great. There was plenty to do with lots of variety. We particularly enjoyed the singers and dancers. The New Orleans show (Big Easy) and the Beatles show were the best we have seen. The talent was great, the sets were fantastic and the musicians were terrific. Thanks for a good cruise.

mediocre cruise
by A Traveler from Virginia
Sailing date:
Feb 2012
Pros:
Spa treatments and Spa team was great
Cons:
the food was just ordinary- when asked if there were nuts ( food allergy) in items - serving staff did not know. And even after being told that nuts were a problem, was given food items with nuts in it and on top of it.
We were on the 11th floor- Spa Deck. because we thought it would be quiter. Above us was people walking around , the kids playng basket ball. There was the announcement about not disposing of cigarrette ashes and trash off the decks, but we would get hit by these items when on the deck. Formal dining attire was not enforced. People came to the dining rooms in shorts, t-shirts, sandles, baseball hats etc. This made what was suppose to be a formal situation into a joke. There was not really a variety of food choices one would not prepare for themselves at home. With Nuts being a huge allergy issue with a great deal of people there were many items with nuts in them. On the plus side the Spa team was great. On the negative the whirlpool had cold water in it. The Sauna and Steam rooms were on a 30 minute cycle and unless you hit them at the right time you could not use them.

garden every day foods, formal dining options were not really formal because people came in shorts, t-shirts, sandles, baseball hats etc.

Ship Staff Quality
Some of the staff were very helpful and interactive. Some acted like they did not want to be there especially in the shops.
Entertainment & Activities
some of the activities were offered late in the evening - 10 pm or later. And only offered on time the entire cruise .
