Disapppointing food quality by
Sue K from Hickory, NC Sailing date: Jan 2012Pros: Ports, ship ammenities & cost Cons: Poor food quality and was often served barely warm Good. Ship if fairly new and appeared clean and well maintained. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodWere not able to get our preferred dinner time and maitre'd was only able to give us anytime seating option. Quality and appropriate temperature (never hot and barely warm) was not what we have come to expect from Carnival. Lobster was mussy, dark meat turkey turned out to be processed turkey roll and the breakfast meats on the Lido buffet were never warm. Stateroom Quality

"Fun filled from start to finish" by
Lynn R from Catawba, NC Sailing date: Jan 2012Pros: The balcony room Cons: Missing the time frame for certain buffets when boarding after a day at port We got what we paid for and that was a beautiful ship with alot to do and with staff members that cared about you and your needs....at all times! Ship QualityWe finally figured out which elevators took us to which parts of the ship...on the last day. Very clean and well decorated. Dining/FoodThe food was awesome. Our only wish would've been extending the lunch buffet hours because by the time we got back on the ship from our port days, the buffet was closing. Stateroom QualityThe balcony room was awesome. Enjoyed the view tremendously. Ship Staff QualityNever had the first issue! The staff was there for your every need! Entertainment & ActivitiesThe nightly entertainment was incredible! The band and the performers were truly talented and put on their best show possible each night. Excellent! 5 out of 5 people found this review helpful.

Not comparable to Princess Cruise Line.. by
A Traveler from Detroit, MI Sailing date: Nov 2011Pros: Friendly porters, waterslide. Cons: Same poor selection of fruit/food, Salt water pools, Constant headache caused by the 12 different colors and patterns in everyroom, availability of chairs on the deck, Short amount of time at ports. The ship was good overall but they needed to redo the menu and make the times of the buffet less random and more often. We didn't like that we were an hour late to our shore excursion because the ship failed to inform us of the time difference on the ship and on the islands we visited..very embarrassing!! Ship Quality
Dining/FoodNot a variety.. Stateroom QualityHard beds. Ship Staff QualityPorter was excellent but most staff didn't speak English. Entertainment & Activities

George Town, Grand CaymanBeautiful! Stingray City is a must see! Our guides were friendly.
We ate a Margaritaville for lunch. Beware of the high cost! For 2 people, our total was $89.00 (1 app, 2 burgers, and a few drinks)
Don't Miss: Stingray City and snorkeling Ocho Rios, JamaicaOur family did the Zipline and Dunn's River Falls. The Zipline was amazing. The workers were very friendly and funny. Dunn's Falls was fun. The tour guide tried to ask everyone for tips the minute we stepped out of the water. Also, you have to walk through a market to get out. Everyone was rude and kept asking for money.
Don't Miss: Zipline 6 out of 6 people found this review helpful.

  Wonderful: Carnival Freedom by
Julie J from West Palm Beach,FL Sailing date: Sep 2011Pros: The food and activities, AND the people We have been on Royal Caribbean before, but Carnival was so much more fun! More activities, friendlier people. It was just so much more enjoyable! Ship Quality
Dining/Food
Stateroom QualityWe had a interior room on the 8th deck but the room was a good size. There were so many activities we didn't stay in much and when we did, it was still relaxing. Ocho Rios, JamaicaWe were harrassed by the shop keepers at Dunn's River falls, they were very rude! But the fall's themselves were great
Don't Miss: if I ever visit Jamaica again, I won't take a cruise and I'll go to the other end of the island where the people are not so aggressive. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

What a horrible excuse for a cruise by
Peter B from United States Sailing date: Jul 2011Pros: The destinations Cons: The overkill on photographers. This was my 8th cruise, and, by far, this was the worst one I have been on. The cabin smelled horrible (smelled like cigar smoke and exhaust), and after voicing my concern 4 times, they finally sent an engineer who fixed it in about 30 minutes. Why was this not done from the beginning?
The "evening shows" were amateurish as best. They were posted to begin at a set time, but the the ship's "fun crew" was so busy trying to sell "just one more ticket for bingo" that they were consistently 20 minutes late every night except the last night when they were over 45 minutes late starting.
There was no information to be found on-board about the ports of call EXCEPT for the shopping opportunities for the stores that had a commission back to Carnival (it was even stated in the fine print).
There were SO MANY photographers set up in the Promenade deck that it was almost impossible to walk through. I was actually afraid for my safety because the equipment blocked free movement in case of an emergency. Ship QualityRoom and hallways smelled horrible. Dining/Food

St. John's, AntiguaTook a local taxi to one of the beaches ($16 round trip)---secluded with about a half dozen people on it. Rented beach chairs and umbrella for $6 for The people on the ship sponsored trips were loudly complaining about how crowded the beaches were
Road Town, Tortola, B.V.I.Again took a taxi to a local beach ($14 each way). Chair free for the day--rented snorkeling equipment for $10 all day) Snorkeling right from the beach. Great food--the guy actually made frozen drinks using a blender he had running off his car battery!
While we were there, 3 different "Sail and Snorkel" from the ship stopped here to disgorge the folks from the ship for a 40 minute snorkel.
Nassau, BahamasHilton Day Pass = $45 which gave you run of the property, a $30 voucher for lunch/drinks and a free chair and towels. Easy walk from the ship.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.Booked the tour through Orbitz and it was great. The people who booked through the ship were not as happy. They felt rushed all day.

  Perfect Vacation by
Mike E from New Jersey Sailing date: Jul 2011Pros: Clean, efficient, good food, excellent service, nice ship Cons: Too many extras for sale Perfect vacation. Went with my family and my brothers family. We had cruised in the past with another line (NCL) and Carnival was outstanding. The entire ship was very clean and well organized. Service was great. Every time we returned to the rooms, the beds were made, new towels were there and the bathrooms were cleaned. Food was very good and as is usually the case, I gained a few pounds. Everyone seemed to find fun activities and always had things to do. Only thing I did not care for was the push for the extras (spa treatments, liquor, photos, etc.). Some might appreciate those things but I just found them in the way. Ship QualityClean and well organized. Always someone cleaning and straigtening up. Dining/FoodExcellent food and the staff went out of their way to satisfy. Stateroom QualityNot very large rooms but well laid out and effective. Slept very well and generally found the room comfortable. Ship Staff QualityOutstanding. Entertainment & ActivitiesMany things to do and the shows were good. Children's ProgramsSomething for every age group. My kids had a great time. Some of that was simply being able to roam the ship with new friends.

George Town, Grand CaymanBeautiful beaches and water. A must see for beach lovers.
Don't Miss: 7 mile Beach Ocho Rios, JamaicaToo many locals turn on the sales pressure for anything from taxis to souveniers. Felt like running the gauntlet with the locals lined up to pressure you. Would not return here.
