Just a well balancec vacation by
Vincent D from Richmond, VA Sailing date: Nov 2012Pros: Mixture of relaxation, entertainment and education Cons: Evening buffet always routine A very good ship with a lot of actvities and features. The trip was a great mixture of relaxation, entertain and education. Ship QualityShip was very well kept. There was some maintenance going on while we were onboard, but nothing that got in the way. A very nice design. Dining/FoodVery good. A lot of options for dining. The specialty resturants were execellent, especially Qsine. Would like to see more options for the evening buffet. Many times we did not have time for formal dinner and buffet offered the same food every night. Stateroom QualityIt was small, but we purchased an inside room, so it was nothing unexpected. It was well kept. It was in a very convenient location to getting around the ship. Though other recommendations warned us about noice in this location, it was very quite. Also, very dark being an inside room and conducive to sleeping. If you want sunshine in the morning, this is not your room. Ship Staff QualityThe working staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. I had some small special requests and they went out of their way to help. The entertainment staff was nice, but some were not very social in one-on-one encounters. They seem to have a stage personality, but a different social personality. I felt like I was annoyging them to carry on a conversation. Not a big issue. Entertainment & ActivitiesExcellent. They had a great variety for everyone. There shows at night were a mixture of singing, dancing, comedy and other unique entertainment. Throughout the trip they had speakers the educated on area we were travelling and other subjects. This was their strength. 4 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

  we loved it by
Muriel M from Oregon Sailing date: Nov 2012Pros: lectures, food, service Cons: cost of excursions This was our first ever cruise and we loved it. Ship QualityWe were concerned it was too big at first glance, but one can find quiet places if need be Dining/Foodwe were scheduled for the 8:30pm dinner, too late for us, so we only went once and it was delicious but the rest of the cruise we ate at the grill (great fish) Stateroom Qualityseeing the ocean from the bed on moonlit nights was lovely Ship Staff Qualitydelightful staff Entertainment & Activitieswe would have like to tour the kitchen but it was offered during excursion times which made it difficult.
The live music was excellent and the lectures really interesting 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

  Infinity Alaska Cruise by
A Traveler from Oregon Sailing date: Jul 2012Pros: Variety and wide range of choices of cruise features Cons: Lack of detailed Information provided about excursions and options. Hawking of cheap jewelery The overall cruise was excellent. Very good service mentality as well as variety of choice of onboard activities and food services. Lack of detailed Information provided about excursions and options along with some of the fine print details of packages was frustrating at times. Ship Quality

  What a waste by
A Traveler from El Paso, TX Sailing date: Jun 2012Pros: The Staff Cons: The Food I thought cruise ship food was supposed to be fantastic, this was bland and sometimes bad. While I understand when cooking for thousands of people, spices must be withheld or kept light, however, even when having a specific meal prepared for me, spices were not available to be added. Whenever we got off the boat, we were seeking food with some flavor. Ship Quality

Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff QualityThe staff was often nice, and made every effort to be helpful. Entertainment & ActivitiesThe best events always seemed to be held while most of the ship was on shore! 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  Amazing experience by
Sreekar from United States Sailing date: Jun 2012Pros: Tracy Arm Fjord and on board Naturalist, Brent Nixon Cons: Meal options This was our first ever cruise experience and Celebrity made our trip memorable to the last minute. Everything on the ship were commendable and we had once in a life experience. We did not get our shore excursions through celebrity, so we cant comment on those, but everything else that the ship offered were amazing. Ship QualityVery clean and the care to detail was insane. We noticed that the crew were constantly cleaning the ship, painting the ship and offered everyday morning and evening room cleaning and organizing service. Dining/FoodVery good food experience overall. Since my wife and I are both vegetarians, we found fewer options. Having said that, the fruits options were really good and we both ate our weight in fruits. Stateroom QualityVery friendly staff and very good service. Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & ActivitiesThe on board naturalist, Brent Nixon made our cruise worth all the money we paid. He was brilliant in all his talks and provided continuous running commentary for 3 hours while we traveled through Tracy Arm Fjord. He did a total of 5 talks and we ended up buying all his DVDs. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

Celebrity Infinity a Great Ship by
Karen F from Boston Sailing date: Apr 2011Pros: Level of service Cons: Lots of old people It was a wonderful cruise. I was impressed at how attentive the crew were to the guests, especially those with special needs. There was a lot less drinking than other cruises I've been on, which was very nice. The deck chairs in the shade filled up quickly. Ship Quality

Entertainment & ActivitiesWe didn't go to a lot of the entertainment. However, the Smithsonian lecture series on various topics were wonderful. Of extra special note were the lectures on the Panama Canal!

  Panama Canal Cruise-2010 by
A Traveler from Seattle, WA Sailing date: Sep 2010Ship was fine. Public areas clean and nicely decorated. Bathrooms always seemed cleaned. Ship QualityLittle bigger than I usually like but laid out quite nicely. Everything was easy to find. Public areas were attractively decorated and always kept clean. Dining/FoodSomewhat disappointing. I've heard Celebritiy has excellent foot but that was not the case on the Infinity. Steaks overcooked and tough. Pasta undercooked. Seafood average. Nothing stood out except of course the deserts!! Buffet was always chaotic. Too many food lines going in all directions. Stateroom QualityNot the best I've had but certainly not the worst. Ship Staff QualityBar and restaurant staff were excellent. Cabin steward left something to be desired. Took 3 attempts before he understood we wanted the beds separated! Always forgot something when cleaning the cabin. Entertainment & ActivitiesBest entertainment was the a capella groug On Tap. They were great. Otherwise the shows were typical cruise ship fare. Entertainers who usually can't sing or dance very well. One of the biggest problems with the entertainment was that it was totally aimed at the older guests. There were enough younger people on board who might have enjoyed some entertainment geared towards the under 50 age group! Activities were boring to say the least. Scrap booking? Art auctions that put you to sleep. Water color painting led by a teacher who thought she was in school, not on a vacation cruise. Painful to watch. Nothing for the under 50 set.

Acapulco, MexicoGot a good deal on a local taxi ride throught the city. He took us to all the highlights and was very polite and knowledgeable about the history of the city. Plus the taxi was airconditioned!!
Don't Miss: Cliff divers!! Cartagena, ColombiaOnly excursion I took from the ship. Should have found another taxi ride. The tour guide was horrible. She let scenic sights go by while making sure time and again that we knew we were in Cartagen, Columbia. Where else were we supposed to be?? And she had the bus driver drive us right up to specific stores for our "shopping pleasure". What a rip off. While in the courtyard of the church she spent the last 15 minutes of the tour telling us about the shopping in Boca Grande. Everyone was wilting in the heat. We had run out of the water we'd been given at the start of the tour. And when we finally got to Boca Grande she again had the driver stop right in front of a specific shop and she even opened the door of the shop to usher us in!! I asked if there was a little grocery store where I could get a soda and she said she show me "later" after the jewelry store. Think she had a little something on the side with that shop?? I found what I wanted on my own. Emily is tour guide.
Don't Miss: Old Town. I love historic sights Huatulco, MexicoNice, clean little town. Again found a local taxi to show me the sights. Enjoyable port.
Don't Miss: The beach! Colon, PanamaGot off the ship in the evening only. Really not worth it.
Don't Miss: THE CANAL!!! Puntarenas, Costa RicaPrivate guide to see crocadiles, monkeys and such. The only way to go.
Don't Miss: Feeding the monkeys!!! San Diego, CaliforniaBeen here before. Always enjoy it. Lots to see and do. Had a friend take my around. Nice way to sightsee!
Cabo San Lucas, MexicoWAY too hot for me! I know the street merchants want to sell you everything, but this was ridiculous. You couldn't walk 10 feet without being pestered to buy something. Glass bottom boat ride was excellent however. And cooler!
Don't Miss: Glass bottom boat ride 7 out of 7 people found this review helpful.

  Our Alaskan Cruise by
Lois W. from Indianapolis, IN Sailing date: Jun 2010Pros: The scenery was fabulous Cons: Sorry we didn't take more shore excursions This ship was perfect. We had an outside room and it was nice to see where we were
going. It was so smooth we couldn't really tell when we were moving and when we
were docked. The cabin had plenty of storage space for all our things. My husband
used a scooter which we rented and we left it in the hallway outside our room. The
room attendant let us use an extention cord to charge it each night. This ship was
probably the largest we had been on and by far the smoothest. Ship Quality

Entertainment & ActivitiesA naturalist was on board and spoke about whales, eagles, bears, sea lions, and
otters. He was great and so animated during his presentation - he was down on the
floor acting like the animal he was speaking about.
Collapse List of Ports
Juneau, AlaskaJuneau was very crowded with four cruise ships in port. The sidewalks close to the
ship were quite narrow. Therefore with the scooter and all the people, we didn't stay
long.
Ketchikan, AlaskaVery nice town and easily accessible to the ship. Enjoyed the lumberjack show and we
could walk to it from the ship. Shopping was varied and nice.
Skagway, AlaskaOf course, the train ride was the best and a must see. The scenery was fabulous
and we had great care by the porter for people in scooters or wheel chairs. The town
is great - glad it is still like it was in gold mining days. I found a quilt shop and went crazy
for Alaskan themed fabric.
Don't Miss: The don't miss activity is definitely the three-hour train ride. 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

  Alaska! Alaska! by
Marguerite L. from Gallup, NM and Ipswich, MA Sailing date: Jun 2010Pros: Tracy Arm Fjord and float plane ride Cons: not applicable The cruise on Celebrity Infinity was our first cruise--it was wonderful! The steward and waiter (for evening dinner) were memorable; I think their names were Ivan and Hasrul. We were surprised daily by the number of activities for all ages, by the professionalism of the evening shows, and by the pleasant and helpful manner of all the personnel on deck. The boat was amazing! Huge! A veritable floating community! And of course, the stops in Katchecan, Juneau, and Skagway were truly amazing when it came to landscape and scenery. Ship Quality
Dining/Food
Stateroom QualityThe bed kind of slanted to both sides with a hump in the middle and was not too comfortable; however, that inconvenience was minor in comparison with the overall condition of the stateroom. Ship Staff QualityHasrul the waiter (I don't think I'm spelling his name right--he was from Indonesia) was the absolute best, kindest, most helpful person my husband and I met; he was the waiter at the dinner meal each evening.
