Meh: So-so ship, great crew by
Jack S from Midwest Sailing date: Nov 2010Pros: Terrific Food, Michael's Club Piano bar, Cons: Age of ship, facilities, stateroom, public areas, Pretty boat, but older with worn bits in stateroom (we had a Sky Suite). Nice veranda, great service from the crew, food was a step above other mid-market cruise lines Ship QualityBoat was relatively small and lacking in modern amenities and activities Dining/FoodDining room fare was terrific, interesting, varied and tasty. wine list was ok--prices were reasonable--particularly mid list ($50-75) Stateroom QualityHad a Sky Suite--not big, not luxurious, not updated. Roomy veranda. Ship Staff QualityGreat, friendly, professional crew Entertainment & ActivitiesComedian Troy Thirdgill was terrific. Will on the piano and voacals in Michael's Club was superb. Other than that--meh... 2 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

  Celebrity Cruise by
Jerry Pace from Kansas City, MO Sailing date: Sep 2010Pros: Staff Cons: Lack of entertainment and constant selling of celebrity items and programs. Accomodations, food and staff were very good. The ship has next to no entertainment and is constantly trying to sell you something. We found that the shore excursions booked through the ship were marked up about 200 percent and you could find some reasonable tours with very good guides once you docked and went ashore. I would not recommend this cruise line if you want a relaxing trip. Ship QualityAccomodations are clean and updated. They have about five bars that they promote heavily. Charge 5 dollars for a draft beer with an automatic 15% gratuity. Dining/FoodGood food, but got very tired of the same food the last few days. Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff QualityStaff very well trained. Entertainment & ActivitiesVery poor entertainment. Almost, no entertainment at all.

Kusadasi (Ephesus), TurkeyA must visit. We saw Virgin Mary's House and Ephesus. The highlight of the cruise.
Civitavecchia (Rome), ItalyThe cruise did not allow enough time to see everything in Rome. Dirty and busy city; but, very interesting.
Mykonos, GreeceVery interesting little Greek island.
Livorno (Florence & Pisa), ItalyAlready been to Florence, so, we just visited Livorno.
Piraeus (Athens), GreeceMust see the Acropolis.
Messina, SicilyToo much time in Sicily. Could not shop because of the siesta time and got very bored.
Salerno (Naples), ItalyPompei was great.
Villefranche-Sur-Mer, FranceGreat port stop. Must see Monaco and Monte Carlo.

  An excellent cruise by
A Traveler from Paramaribo, Suriname Sailing date: Apr 2010Pros: The ship was not crowded with to many passengers, the hospitality, the service, teh food and drinks, the hot tube, the cabin Cons: The Atlantic submarine excusion on Gran Cayman. The price was not worth it. The folders and picture are misleading. It was not what we had expexted. One of our ( daughter and mother) best experiences ever. It was our firts cruise and beyond our imagination. We loved and enjoyed it. The next cruise will be with husband and daughter. We like it every second. The booking till the arrival of the cruise was excellent. Ship Quality

  A Relaxing Cruise by
Maureen G from Phila., PA Sailing date: Feb 2010Pros: Lots of Champagne! Cons: Problems with a Table for 2 This was my third cruise with Celebrity Century (13th cruise total) and I highly recommend Celebrity! They are very organized with embarkation and disembarkation. It is nice to be greeted with a glass of champagne to start vacation! The ship is smaller than the other lines and it is refreshing! Ship QualityThe ship is older, but it is very clean and has been refurbished. Dining/FoodThe food was good, but not as good as on previous cruises. The menu always had steak and chicken available. Although I made reservations for a table for 2, this was a problem for the first 2 nights, but finally rectified. The dining room was not open for lunch on days in port and the menu had some odd choices. The Aqua Spa was a GREAT oasis with healthy choices! Stateroom QualityAverage size. Made excellent use of space for closets and storage. Rug in stateroom needed replacing. Ship Staff QualityOutstanding ship staff! Very friendly and EVERYone made a point of saying hello! Entertainment & ActivitiesTerrific variety. Evening entertainers were much better than usual cruise entertainers. The comedian was top notch and brought tears to my eyes!! 8 out of 10 people found this review helpful.

  It's YOUR vacation by
Charlie W. from St. Paul, MN Sailing date: Jan 2010Pros: Freedom to choose to do what we wanted to do A four-day break from the mid-winter blahs -- just what the doctor would have ordered (had I consulted one). This is YOUR VACATION, so you can do with it whatever you like: relax, read, swim, work-out, run, attend a presentation about piracy on the high seas, eat, sleep, meet others, whatever!
Celebrity Cruise Lines has a wide variety of choices for you -- but doesn't coerce you in any one direction. The food was delightful, and the service outstanding. We enjoyed chatting with the crew to learn about their stories...
Excellent entertainment with the singers and dancers. And Louis Johnson was absolutely hilarious. Party at poolside with the talented party band, or meander to aft deck for mellow guitar tunes.
The half-day in Key West and the day in Cozumel were perfect stops along the way.
Next cruise: ALASKA! Ship QualityStay amidships on a middle deck (deck 9) and you're within a easy walk to anywhere on the ship within moments. Dining/FoodDid not try the specialty restaurant. Did not need to as the food in the main restaurant was excellent. Good choices each day, with special choices carefully and tastefully prepared. Stateroom QualityNice size room, even though it was just an internal cabin. Ship Staff QualityVery, very good. Entertainment & ActivitiesReally top notch. Especially enjoyed Louis Johnson. 5 out of 5 people found this review helpful.

  It was all great by
Liz R from Atlanta Sailing date: Jan 2010Pros: staff, service Cons: jamaica The Celebrity Century was very nice. Waiters, sommeliers, and stateroom attendents were above and beyond my expectations, just incredible. We are a young married couple who celebrated our 1st anniversary onboard, and were impressed at the ship's nice mix of people. The mix was nice, not too many old people, and not too many younger people, no rude punk kids or teenagers. Ship QualityGreat decor. Staterooms especially look great, not drab at all. Public areas not too crowded, except pool deck during at sea days. Dining/FoodMain dining room food: impeccable. Looked forward to eating there every time, luckily it's open for all 3 meals a day.
Island Cafe: this is the buffet that's open all the time, it was cold when we went :( They do have sushi, ice cream, stir fry, pasta, pizza that are good though!
Stateroom QualityOur interior stateroom was perfect. We really didn't need a larger room! Great decor made it feel like a posh hotel. Ship Staff QualitySommelier called us by name *every* time, even though we weren't "winos"! Our waiter was very well trained, and very personable--not too stuffy and not to "buddy-buddy" with us, but very respectful. Our stateroom attendant gave us towel swans, rose petals on the bed, and champagne at evening turn-down for our anniversary...free! Entertainment & ActivitiesSome days we wanted to be busy every waking moment, other days we chilled out & relaxed, but we were able to do either & enjoy ourselves! Shore excursions in Jamaica were fun but interrupted constantly by locals offering weed, and worse drugs, and offering to braid my hair. They even grabbed one of us. BE CAREFUL off the boat in Jamaica 7 out of 8 people found this review helpful.

We loved The Celebrity Century by
MiMi B. from Bardstown, KY Sailing date: Nov 2009Pros: Staff, stateroom, entertainment, quality of shore excursions Cons: having to leave after our cruise was over I loved the smaller ship. It was so easy to find everything on board and it never seemed crowded even though it was fully booked. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodI loved the fact I could order escargot every night if I wanted. Stateroom QualityWe were on deck four with an oceanview. It was so convenient to everything. Ship Staff QualityThe staff was professional and extremely friendly. I really appreciated that about them. Entertainment & ActivitiesI think the entertainment was the best I have seen on any cruise. This was my 11th and the first on a Celebrity ship. 5 out of 7 people found this review helpful.

  Great traveling hotel by
Tom H. from Baltimore, MD Sailing date: Oct 2009Pros: Quality of the sit-down dinners Cons: Quality of the buffet Good ship and excellent dinners in the main dining room. Quality of the buffet, however, was low. As in all cruises, avoid the excursions, which are overpriced and don't allow you to get a good feel for the ports and their surrounding areas -- set out on your own instead, using local transportation. The ship's staff was hard-working and upbeat. On-ship entertainment was not a highlight. Ship Quality

  A Disappointed Cruise by
Howard W from Montreal, Quebec Sailing date: Aug 2009Pros: Nothing Cons: The ship First room was not clean nor in good repair. Second room was not as nice but was clean. Ship is old, clean but old. Too much emphasis on drinking at all times of the day from morning to night.
Handling of our valises was poor. Celebrity lost our valise at the end of the cruise. Ship Quality

Copenhagen, Denmark
Helsinki, FinlandNothing exciting in this city but a must see to experience something of Finland.
St. Petersburg, Russian FederationA must see for the historical aspects of the city. Also interesting to see modern Russian people. Not like the stories of the Communist era.
Don't Miss: Pushkin and Peterhof Stockholm, SwedenEasy to walk around on your own. You see more of the city and the people that way.
Tallinn, EstoniaInteresting old city goes back hundreds of years but look at the modern section too. Just as interesting in a different way.
Warnemunde (Berlin), GermanyBerlin - Check out the sites visited by the tours and choose several and see them yourself. Easy travelling by tram and subway. A must see but whether you like it or not is an individual thing.
