Pros:
Being away from everything--including phones.
Cons:
Last night was rocky
The ship was nice. I was afraid we would get sea sick, but everything was fine until the last night. Then a lot of people got sick, but we didn't.

Pros:
getting away
Cons:
service was poor, food not up to standard,
I have been on several Carnival cruises. In fact I have been on this ship before. This trip I found the service to be poor. The food below the standard of previously experienced food. The drinks did not seem to contain any alcohol. All in all the cruise of this Sensation did not measure up to my previous cruise on Sensation. Everything seemed to be a bit "off".

terrific first cruise
by debbie h from Lenoir City, Tn
Sailing date:
Mar 2012
Pros:
friendliness and effiency of staff.
Cons:
geared more toward the younger crowd.
The Sensation is one of Carnivals older and smaller ships, but was surprised at all the options for dining, and being treated like royalty. The staff was some of the nicest people we have ever met.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Easy access to everything and beautiful, well kept ship. Restrooms were always clean and supplied with necessities.
Dining/Food
Liked the option of open dining, not having a specific time to be at dinner. Was not really impressed with the food on the buffet on the last night. Food was cold, but all other food was excellent.
Stateroom Quality
Room was larger than I expected for a ship. Always clean.
Ship Staff Quality
Staff alwayss went above and beyond. They even called us by name after waiting on us for a while. You could tell they loved their jobs and the people.
Entertainment & Activities
Only wish there had been more than one pool. It was extremely crowded on our fun day at sea. Maybe an adult only pool.

Cons:

It was my first cruise, a single dad of 2 I wanted something family oriented. Kids had more fun than ever. The prices in gift shop were very reasonable, especially on liquor. camp for kids was great, the kids wanted to go everyday, all day. They really enjoyed the activities and food. My cabin guy was also great, very helpful and informative. very accommaditing

Great cruise
by Kristine F. from Tallahassee, FL
Sailing date:
Mar 2012
Pros:
fun, good food, fun destinations
Cons:
windy, smaller ship
It was smaller than other cruise ships I'd been on and the decorations were kind of outdated...
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
It wasn't too hard to find our way around.
Dining/Food
They didn't have as many vegetarian options as I would have liked, but other than that it was good.
Stateroom Quality
It was more spacious than I expected and very clean.
Ship Staff Quality
They were very friendly and helpful.
Entertainment & Activities
The shows were fun.

A nice get away
by Jim S from Indiana
Sailing date:
Feb 2012
Pros:
Having a balcony
Cons:
Not too many choices of food in the Seaview Cafe on Port days or on the day of the Captains Dinner. It was alot of the same ole same ole foods. The mexican night of food was targeted at 11pm and for the older crowd... that's alittle late to be eating Mexican food.
It's a nice ship for the size, not greatly decorated so there's not alot to draw your attention to detail or prompt you for picture taking but nice and simple.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Dining/Food
We thought the food to be a bit dry and repetitive. Not a big selection at all.
Stateroom Quality
Our room was wonderful .... a balcony is the way to go. Our steward was very accommodating and always on top of things. :)
Ship Staff Quality
Some of the staff was wonderful and some acted like you were imposing on their time.
Entertainment & Activities
Entertainment and activities were good but I thought they could have had a few more things that weren't just targeted to the young.

Superb and relaxing
by Dave H. from Aiken, SC
Sailing date:
Jan 2012
Pros:
The excursions and facilities
Cons:
Main Dining Room service
This was our fourth cruise and third with Carnival. We chose this particular one because of the Orbitz price, which was AWESOME!!!! This was the last voyage of the Sensation before drydocking and updating. That may expalin the lack of enthusiasm and professionalism in the main Dining Room. But alas, there are other superb eating locations onboard. We partook of them all (except sushi). The remainder of the staff was very pleasant and helpful. This was the first cruise we took our sons (17 and 22). They had a great time and will definitely go again...if Dad pays. The excursion through Orbitz did circles around those offered by Carnival. Snorkle and swim with the sharks was FANTASTIC!!!

Just the right size
Dining/Food
Other than what I said about the Fantasy Dining Room staff...Delicious!
Stateroom Quality
GREAT!!! We had a porthole room and it was comfortable.
Ship Staff Quality
VERY friendly and helpful.
Entertainment & Activities
Same as always....Great!

Great cruise for first time cruisers!
by A Traveler from Charleston, SC
Sailing date:
Jan 2012
Pros:
The food
Cons:
none
We just recently cruised the carnival Sensation... For most of our group it was their first time cruising.... This ship had the amenities of a 5 star hotel! The service was great and courteous... We definitely enjoyed ourselves and had a great time!

Pros:
friendly staff
Cons:
decor is a little outdated
this was a great first cruise, many activities to do on the ship, food was good, staff was great! as for the outdated decor i did not let it bother me. i was not too impressed with the dining room, i thought the buffet food was better. the ship was cold. I loved the shows and the comedy club.

great bang for the buck
by Andrew T from Salt Lake, UT
Sailing date:
Jan 2012
Pros:
the inexpensive price
Cons:
too many party people
I think cruise ships have come a long way since this first sailed. This ship is basically your idea of a cheap Las Vegas hotel and casino, only it is floating on water.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Clean; sometimes confusing to get around; not enough places to lounge (especially someplace quiet)
Dining/Food
What made the food good was the Dining Room service. The buffets got old quickly. Although I must say that the specialty buffets were great, such as the Mexican or Mongolian buffet that was offered on particular days.
Stateroom Quality
I barely give this an average because twice our room needed to be 'ozoned' because of the cigarette smoke smell and the noise that can be heard from other rooms and especially the hallway. Other than that it was very clean.
Ship Staff Quality
Every seemed very helpful.
Entertainment & Activities
Not too much appealed to us.
