Awful Vacation! by
De Laina from Las Vegas, NV, US Sailing date: Aug 2007Pros: Fine dinning restaurants. Rude crew members, boring shows, dirty and dumpy ship, buffet awful. Destination ? Restaurant, excellent food and service. Dining/FoodWoderful service & food at dinner in the Destination Restaruant. The Paris & Lido Deck food was awful. Seating would of been good there, if we could of found a clean table to sit at. Poorly kept restaurant. Need to pay attention to detail.
Stateroom QualityRoom was nice and bigger than expected and bed was very comfortable, but there was hair from the people before us in the shower. Gross!
Ship Staff QualityShort and rude. When asked a woman bartender how the overall cruise was, she looked at us a said "What do you want me to say? I work here!" Not to excite about her job, is she? When we first got on the ship they kept telling us to go to the Lido deck. They weren't saying what number floor it was on. Went to the elevator and didn't see a Lido deck button. I then turned to a crew member and asked where do we go now. He looked at me and motioned upward with his thumb.
Entertainment & Activities
Entertainment: Boring and Needs updating. Shout show was awful. Second show should be earlier in the evening. Save bingo for late night. Band members in bar should have costumes not Pullover shirts with name tags. The performers did great for the material they had to go off of. Spice it up a little. I have seen better high school musicals than the Shout show. 7 out of 8 people found this review helpful.

Never going on a cruise again. by
Cary from OC, CA Sailing date: Jul 2007Pros: Evening entertainment. The fact that the ship was overbooked caused a lot of dissatisfaction in the entire cruising experience- food line was long; sports equipment never there; the only heated pool as well as Jacuzzis always overcrowded; and your staff's "unenthusiastic" attitudes (they all seemed way too overworked and only did what they were required out of obligation- were not genuinely happy to be there which can largely and directly effect your patron's experience!!!). Dining/Food
Stateroom QualityYouth in the hall way were loud and played pranks by knocking all cabin doors.
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & ActivitiesActivities: Cruise was overbooked and there was not enough sports equipment on "sea day".
Entertainment: This is the only area we are somewhat satisfied with. Children's ProgramsOverbooking caused sports equipment to be unavailable all day; plus 2 out of 3 pools were not heated (extra cold) causing everyone to cram into the jacuzzi.
Collapse List of Ports
Ensenada, MexicoNot worth seeing at all!
Shore excursion did not meet up to its expectation- the Blow Hole was not worth the amount paid for to see since none of the tour guides pre-informed the patrons that the Blow Hole is only worth seeing during certain seasons of the year. He waited until we got there to tell us!

  Food was horrible. by
Kelly from Los Angeles, CA Sailing date: Feb 2007Even though this was a short cruise, I expected the food to be great, after all that is what cruises are supposed to be all about....the wonderful food. It was awful. And the whole thing ended up being expensive since we even had to pay for sodas. Also, I got the final bill whihc they included a $120 tip (for 2 adults and one toddler in the room) for this 3 day cruise, without asking for me to specify an amount. When I called about this, I would have had to go somewhere, and fill out paperwork to change it. Quite the hassle. Overall, I would not recommend this cruise. Not many activities, other than drinking. 1 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

Carnival cruises are cheap for a reason! by
Eva from Tucson, AZ Sailing date: Oct 2006If you are couple looking for fun, entertaining, service oriented cruise, rethink going on carnival. The cruise was a waste of money and found very little entertainment or fun aboard the ship. If you like to eat and get drunk non stop this may be the right thing for you. Entertainment & Activities

The service and the ship are degraded - by
Peter from California Sailing date: Nov 2006Pros: The azipod propulsion system is wonderful and everything to do with motion of the boat was flawless. There were lines hundreds of people long as they tried to check in 1000 people through one airport type security channel. There was no outside signs for VIP customers. 3 out of 4 elevators in the parking lot were non functional. The boat is in a state of disrepair - twice we had to get new room keys because the ones given to us did not function, even upon arrival. The safe in the room did not function. I was bruised by being caught in the door of a non functional elevator which should have been taken out of service. There were more than 100 non functional light bulbs in the dining room. Lines at the self service dining areas are permanent and the seating overcrowded. Elevators were frequently non functional. In our VIP class cabin area the steward refused to answer pages. When we needed a hairdryer, which was not provided in the room, we had to get help from a cleaner nearby. The walking and jogging areas were only accessible by climbing a steep exterior staircase. It is not possible to swim laps in the on board pools. The prices for drinks are exorbitant, and you have lengthy waits to get drinks from the bars. Many of the public areas were closed off for parts of the cruise, making the few remaining areas even more crowded and uncomfortable. Forget it if you want a seat on the deck to look out! The boat charged as much for an hour of internet service as one would normally pay for a month. A bus tour from Encinada was hosted by a person who pretended that she did not speak English. The tour bus driver drove at illegal speeds up and down the coast, possibly to avoid the kidnappings of tourists which we heard about only after we had got on the bus. Good aspects - if you do actually get to it, the food available on board is excellent - but you have to put up with either long lines or very "different' table companions to get it. The ship runs through the ocean with miraculous smoothness - it is a pity they do not give tours of the engine room. The quality of the shows was excellent, although having to fight for seats with other passengers is off putting and mars the experience. Entertainment & Activities
