Great vacation for ALL ages
by Michele B from CT
Sailing date:
Feb 2012
Pros:
Always something to do and the food was deliscious
Cons:
Disembarking needs to have a little more organization
Overall a nice, friendly, active ship
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Extremely clean, easy to get around
Dining/Food
There could be more dinner restaurant choices that are included but all food was very good
Stateroom Quality
I had an inside stateroom which is fine because I was never in the room. Beds were comfy, pillows on the other hand were awful.
Ship Staff Quality
Staff was so friendly and usually right there when you needed them. Very hard workers on that ship.
Entertainment & Activities
there was plenty to do all day and night. Game shows and nightly shows in theater were top knotch. What a blast!
Children's Programs
Need more activities for the 10-13 range. My son is 11 and couldn't participate in the activities he wanted like the basketball or ping pong terminates. That is an age that they don't want to hang with 6 year olds. So I would recommend adding the preteen activities.

Amazing cruise!!!
by Amanda B. from New York
Sailing date:
Jan 2012
Pros:
the food, service, and cleanliness
Cons:
the dj at the club played the same music
I thought the ship was very nice and clean. The service was very, very well and everyone was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and very well prepared. Freestyle dining is definitely a lot better than having a set time to eat.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Dining/Food
Freestlye dining is very convenient and the dining rooms are very well decorated.
Stateroom Quality
The inside cabins were pretty roomy, the bathroom was a decent size and the shower had a actual shower door unlike carnival cruises.
Ship Staff Quality
The staff was very helpful, for example, i wanted to have some more soft rolls at dinner and our waitress called the other main dining room to check for more bread to bring it back to us.
Entertainment & Activities
The duo elegia show was outstanding!! they should have their own show in vegas or ny. The comedy/magic show of JP was also outstanding and he should also have his own show headlining in a major city.

An amazing first time experience!
by Ayesha N Ansari from Brooklyn, NY
Sailing date:
Dec 2011
Pros:
I loved the food, shows, the wide selection of activities, as well as the staff ESP Sarah! (SHE CLEANED VERY WELL, HAD AN AMAZING PERSONALITY, AND WAS ALL AROUND VERY WELCOMING AND IMPRESSIVE)
My overall impression of the ship was just amazing. I have never been on such an amazing ship before. It was everything I dreamed and more. The only thing I didn't like was that we never got off the boat to go to the Great Stirrup Cay and there really wasn't an appropriate explanation for that. I feel that we're paying to get off the ship and spend time on the island and we were deprived of that and I was very disappointed but it certainly did not ruin me trip. ^_^
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Ship size, layout, condition of public areas, decor, cleanliness, accessibility...STUNNING, AMAZING, A DREAM.
Dining/Food
The food was amazing. I really ate my heart out. The restaurants were exceptional and I honestly can't think of any meal that I ate that I didn't absolutely love. I loved the food!!! There was always a wide selection of foods, fruits, breads, YUM!!
Stateroom Quality
My mini suite was very impressive. I don't believe the picture on the ncl website gave it any justice. My room was very spacious, the bedding was comfortable and clean. Everything was great.
Ship Staff Quality
Sarah was amazing. The first day we got on the boat and were going to our rooms she greeted my boyfriend and me by our first name. I thought that was very impressive and it really made a huge impact on me. She was very welcoming, sweet, patient, and just seemed to be an over all amazing person. She was the best. In addition the overall staff was just amazing. Very friendly, helpful when needed, lively, and they really made me feel like I was at home. I loved it.
Entertainment & Activities
The shows were amazing. I have never had a love for dancing and singing until I went to the shows on this boat. Duo Elagia was amazing and Cirque Bijou was also amazing. Those were my two favorite shows.

Good for families.
by A Traveler from Albany, NY
Sailing date:
Nov 2011
Pros:
food, entertainment, customer service
Cons:
too many kids, not much to do during at-sea days, small and noisy pool area
This is a great cruise for families with kids, but I do not recommend it for singles or younger couples. Kids EVERYWHERE. For a ship of this size, I would've expected a larger pool area and more than 4 hot tubs. There was a sign next to the small pool that said "adults only", but it was never enforced. Music blared through the PA system or by a DJ near the pool. If you wanted quiet, you had to go up 2 floors to the "quiet deck." I would have preferred a separate quiet pool area just for adults. There was also no indoor pool area, so there wasn't much to do on cooler days. Unfortunately, we couldn't go to Great Stirrup Cay because of high surf, so we had an extra at sea day. The staff did what they could to entertain during the at sea days, but it was still boring. Florida and Nassau were fun though. That being said, the food and shows were great, as were the staff.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
The decor was a little cheesy, but everything was clean and laid out clearly. Norwegian is big on cleanliness; there are antibacterial wash stations everywhere and "washy washy" girls who spray your hands when you enter the buffet.
Dining/Food
The food was great, both at the buffet, dining rooms, and cover charge restaurants. I especially recommend Teppanyaki ($25) for an awesome hibachi show. Make your reservations as early as you can, as Teppanyaki fills up fast! Le Bistro ($20) was also delicious. The chocolate buffet was disappointing; a lot of the desserts seemed pre-packaged and not fresh. Breakfast room service was also disappointing, as you can only get breads and fruit, not hot food like eggs.
Stateroom Quality
I had an interior stateroom, which for the size, had everything I needed. Big comfy bed, nice sized closet, bathroom, the works. My tall travel companion had a difficult time using the toilet, as there wasn't much room.
Ship Staff Quality
All staff we encountered were courteous and willing to help with anything we needed.
Entertainment & Activities
The evening shows were outstanding! There was a stand-up comedian, magician/comedian, and an acrobatic duo. The cruise dancers/singers were also great, and the cruise director and his staff did a funny skit on the last night. It was cute. During the day, activities were lean.

I went to Cocoa Beach, which I only recommend if it's warm enough to swim. The beach itself is gorgeous, but the surrounding town is not particularly interesting.

Great Cruise
by Irv B from Port Washington, NY
Sailing date:
Oct 2011
Pros:
The service and food were exceptional.
Cons:
The excursions were just a little short and I always felt rushed through.
The ship was really beautiful with plenty of ammenities. The staff was exceptional from house keeping to the waiters to the entertainment.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Dining/Food
The main dining room food was excellent but some of the other restaurants were a notch better with better ambience. I avoided the Buffet which never really looks appetizing to me.
Stateroom Quality
We had a room with obstructed view but it was mid ship which was very comfortable. The obstructed view didn't bother me as you're not spending that much time in the room but I did want the light which was plentiful.
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activities
The entertainment director and his assistant were top notch.

Another very cool town. We hiked all over where we saw a lot of great restaurants and shops. Some of the light houses we saw were really in beautiful settings with great views wherever you turned. Would also recommend seeing the Portland Tower.
Halifax, Nova Scotia
This is a great city with a lot of nice restaurants and shops. Wish we had more time to walk around. The Citadel and public gardens were nice stops as was the trip to Peggys Cove.
Sydney, Nova Scotia
The country side and Alexander Graham Bell museum were good, The port itself is not that nice and the town needs to have some money poured into it. A lack of nice shops and restaurants.

We took a taxi to Atlanits and did the waterpark! We loved it, but you need to wear your flip flops, we made that mistake and burned the c... out of our feet. Be prepapred to be amazed at the slides, they are nothing like the states, they take it to the next level of fun!
Great Stirrup Cay (Cruiseline Private Island), Bahamas
the island leaves much to e desired, but is currently under construction. We didn't care too much because we spend the entire time in the water...it is beautifu!
Don't Miss:
It is worth just spending time in the clear, blue water

We went to Universal adventure area with the Harry potter rides. We had fun there and were glad we did it! We love rollercoasters and they didn't dissappoint. The Hulk was a bit of a headache, but the rest were good. We ate at Mythos and it was so good, definitely recommend it!

not what I was hoping for
by LZC from nyc,ny
Sailing date:
Aug 2011
Pros:
didn't have to make beds or plan meals
Cons:
WAY TOO CONGESTED! Practically sitting on someone elses lap around pool, couldn't walk freely around with so many chairs set up, cabin hallways congested with linen carts.
Thought Norwegian would be a step up from others cruises.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Garbage strewn about outside pool area, debris floating in pool. Pools themselves much too small (we prayed for rain just to clear out the overcrowding)
Dining/Food
Food was plentiful but average. Waited 1/2 hour to be seated for "speciality" restaurant even though we had reservations and then we were rushed through the meal.

Wait until reconstruction is completed before using this as a "beautiful" beach excursion. Getting off water taxi and stepping into a war zone wasn't pretty. TOO congested for a "private" beach experience.
