Carnival Liberty is Terrible!
by Evelyn H. from United States
Sailing date:
Jan 2012
Pros:
Not much at all.
Cons:
Just about e everything, especially he confusing layout of the ship.
The layout was terrible and very difficult to get to certain places. Had to take elevators to a certain place, then take other elevators different levels up or down to try to get where you needed to. Very few directions and even the staff were confused and not sure. On the 2nd day at sea, the ship tipped to a 45 degree angle, having chairs, plates, glasses, etc., crashing to the floor. The pool emptied out halfway. It was very scary for everyone on deck. The menu at the restaurant was so bad, we never once had dinner at the restaurant and preferred eating on the Lido deck. Shows were too late in the evening. music was blaring much more than it should have been, not allowing you to read and relax.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
I actually complained about a bathroom where the toilet paper was all over the floor. It was filthy. The pool help did nothing and ignored my comment.
Dining/Food
Restaurant menu was horrible. Beef stroganoff? Please! The best place to eat was at the Fish and Chips but it was only open a couple hours a day, around noon time.
Stateroom Quality
The girls did a good job cleaning. But there was little room to move around the room.
Ship Staff Quality
Most of the staff were unfriendly and were not familiar with the ship, since they were so uninformed. This included Guest Services who gave us wrong information.
Entertainment & Activities
Too late. You could not enjoy the poolside activities due to the blaring of the music. The shows were too late at night for us to attend.

Worst cruise I ever had
by Jane K from Pennsylvania
Sailing date:
Jan 2011
Pros:
Camp Carnival
Cons:
Food- Rooms and overall service
The worst cruise I ever experienced. Went to relax. We booked a balcony on the 6th floor in the back of ship thinking it would be quiet for our family. Two adults and a3 and 4 year old. What surprise. Around 8 oclock the band started playing on the fifth floor. At that moment our floors and walls were actually shacking and vibrating. I just wanted to relax and you could not even put your head on the pillow. The drums were too loud. It stopped around 12:00 a.m. Second night called to tell customer service. I told them I really need to sleep. See what we can do I was told. Third night I slept on the balcony. This went on for 6 days. Did not sleep. I could not sleep. Finaly tthe conclusion from them was get earplugs. Good answer!!! I paid 2500.00 to relax and I had to buy earplugs. What a joke. After days of asking for help. I asked for 1/2 my cruise back. Thought that was fair for the problems. They could not do that according to their policy. They did give some off my bill but that was a drop in the bucket for planning a vacation expecting to relax. The food was terrible and you had to wait in line like cattle for about 20 minutes to get something to eat. Then when you did it was terrible!!!! Same food for breakfast for 6 days. Ice cream machine was always out of ice cream for the kids. The pool had no supervision. My kids were jumped on several times by the other children. They did not swim much. The waterslide was a joke. You had to walk up around people to get up the steps. Would not recommend for children under six years. Would not recommend fo ranyone. Waiting for superviser to call me. Let you know on that one. Not expecting a call.

Terrible Food
by A Traveler from Miami, Florida
Sailing date:
May 2010
Pros:
The ports of call
Cons:
The Food
The food was terrible unless you are willing to pay to go to the onboard nice restaurant "Harrys". We ate at the ports of call whenever possible to avoid eating on the ship. Room service breakfast was probably the best of all the food. How can you go wrong with a bagel and coffee? It was my first and last cruise with carnival.

Not much to see , except for the shopping area around the port, which unless you are buying diamonds or liquor it's a waste of time.

Think Twice Before Selecting Carnival
by richard s from central Florida
Sailing date:
Jan 2010
Pros:
That it ended
Cons:
They took my wine out of my suitcase
I was not impressed with Carnival----they opened my suitcase and took my good wine----gave it back Friday nite---it was far superior to any of the wines they had----they charge as much as four times the retail price for the wine they serve on board. The food and service in the dinning room did not come close to my expectations---only could get coffee after the meal and desert was served and then had to almost always ask fpor it--- typically had to adk for more water. House keeping was very good---staff was friendly. They don't accomadate cigar smokers---can't even smoke them on drck Had beem on Holland Americas earlier----was like driving a Mercedes(Holland) and driving a old Voltswagon van (Carnival Liberty) my advice---think twice before booking

by Dorcas F from Vernonia, Or
Sailing date:

Pros:
steak house
Cons:
the other food and shows
The shows were very disapointing compared to other Carnival ships we have been on. The food was excellent in the Steak house restaraunt and the shrimp was very good. The best part of the ship was our stuart he was great. I will not be going or recommending this ship to anyone. I loved the outside big big screen TV.

Disappointing
by Luanne G from Wisconsin
Sailing date:
Dec 2008
Pros:
The warm weather
Cons:
The rough rocky seas, arriving at Puerto Rico at night, being ripped off in St.. Marten by a woman braider.
The Carnival Liberty was nice. Food was OK, but need to have better food choice selections. The food started to taste and smell the same.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Room size was comfortable. Our stateroom did not appear to be dusted, but I realize the housekeepers don't get alot of extra time to do a complete job! Decor on Liberty was nice!
Dining/Food
Need to have better selections. Not everyone likes fish! My husband and kids were denied dining one evening as they were told they were not properly dressed. (Note: It was just dress casual night!)
Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff Quality
Called housekeeping to clean room after getting a late start. They never showed up till the evening.
Entertainment & Activities
One performer did not show. Wasn't impressed with cruise director.

Took the San Juan tour and shopping. I really like this the best. However, it was disappointing to not be able to see Puerto Rico during the day. Our ship did not arrive until 5:00. Our tour was supposed to start at 5:00. We did not get to start until 6:15 PM.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.
All the shops were the same. Jewerly was pushed by many merchants.
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
Took the island tour. Streets are very congested with traffic. I got robbed by a woman braider.

by Andrew H from Charlotte, NC

Pros:
Lounging by the pool and shore excursions
Cons:
Not following posted times for meals...closing things down early and the overall rudness of the majority of the staff
The ship itself was great. As was the formal dining room and staff that worked in there. The rest of the crew were rude and staff in Emiles closed things down early every single day.
