Exceptional service. We had the best din
by A Traveler from Jaffrey, NH, USA
Sailing date:
Sep 2007
Pros:
The fine dinning and careing staff.
Except for the meet and greet staff at the airport our cruise was nicer than my highest expectations. The ships staff are warm, caring and highly proffessional. I am anxious to take my next cruise. Please work on improving the meet and greet staff as that was my first contact. My initial response was that I could only hope that our cruise wouldn't be such a bad experience. The cruise was great.

Putting safety first.
by Jeri from Austin, TX
Sailing date:

Pros:
The ship was beautiful, the friendliness and service of the staff outstanding and the entertainment spectacular.
Although we were disappointed Hurricane Felix caused us to be rerouted, but we had a wonderful time and were grateful that our safety was the first prioriy.

A Cruise to Remember
by Lisa K. from Lindenhurst, IL
Sailing date:
Nov 2008
Pros:
The theatre performers
Cons:
Small Pool Sizes
The ship was grand and beautiful. The only disappointment was the small pool sizes. For the 1200 children on board we thought the pools would be bigger in size.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Again only disappoint was the small pool sizes
Dining/Food
We had a wonderful dinning experience. The food was excellent, especially in the dinning room. Our head waiter was so personable;sharing stories of his homeland. He made our dinning experience a comfortable one.
Stateroom Quality
The staterooms were always very clean.
Ship Staff Quality
Very friendly staff - everyone greeted you when passing by. Nice touch!
Entertainment & Activities
The theatre performers were excellent. We enjoyed all the productions. We could not hear the announcements the Cruise Director made from the upper deck, main pool side, though. The Cruise Director was funny and entertaining.

by Matt K from Montana
Sailing date:

Pros:
Amazing food and outstanding service
Cons:
Many kids
The Carnival Liberty is a great ship, just big enough to accomodate the 3000+ people staying there. The food is incredible and i've never had better customer service. There were so many activities it was impossible to be bored. I absolutely will cruise with Carnival again because of this experience.

amazing relaxing getaway!
by Catherine B. from Long Island, NY
Sailing date:
Feb 2009
Pros:
timeliness, friendly staff, lots of options for onboard fun
Cons:
nothing!
It had been about 10 years since I had last been on a cruise. And I was completely impressed with this ship - I liked even better than the line I had been on once before! Everything was very organized upon the arrival and leading all the way up to departure. The friendliness of the staff was phenomenal and everyone was so helpful!
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Lidia, our stewardess, was phenomenal! She introduced herself and her assistant on the first day and everyday we saw them we were greeted with big warm smiles!
Dining/Food
Our waitress and waiter, Kostadinka and Gabor, were awesome! They were so helpful and very personable. At night it felt like we were sitting down with long lost relatives.
Stateroom Quality
On the Orbitz site we chose a room that said it was an interior room but stated that the location was an oceanview room. We didn't expect that at all so when we got to the room we literally jumped up and down because we saw the huge window and it was jus great!

My friend and I took a Mexican Cooking and Tasting class and were able to spend a little over an hour at the beach. It was so gorgeous! It really felt like we were in paradise. We went back to the ship to relax for a little then hit the port again at night to do some shopping.
Don't Miss:
The beaches.
George Town, Grand Cayman
We took a tour with 4 other guests on the Liberty and our driver, Christine, was amazing! She was born and raised in Grand Cayman so she had a lot of history of the island, which was really nice. We did some shopping and found a computer to make free phone calls home from a souvenir shop, I don't remember the name, but you had to walk up a flight of stairs.
Don't Miss:
Hell
Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Some of the people you came across in Ocho Rios were sketchy. I'm from NY and I'm used to people coming up and trying to sell you stuff, but you say "no" twice and they leave you alone. In Jamaica, they don't let up. We walked up the falls and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life! The guides, Shaw and Peeping Tom (cameraman), were really fun. Our tour bus guide, Marie, was really cool too. But once you were alone outside the port we were just bombarded. You have to have a thick skin or just stay on a tour.

Great place to snorkel. Took the beack snorkel tour. The water was beyond beleif. We were put in groups, and had a great guide. Very beautiful.
Don't Miss:
The snorkeling.
Freeport, Grand Bahama Island
Not very exciting. We took the city tour, and about all we heard about was the new roofs that were being put on houses from the hurricane a few years back.

Pros:
New open seating format - dine when you want, sit down!
Cons:
Shows are still the same
The Liberty was clean and easy to navigate around. Everything was accessible and mostly mid ship which was very refreshing.

Dining/Food
The overall quality of the food was similar to prior Carnival ships I have been on. Good with a dose of very good mixed in. Most of the menu items were similar to prior cruises on different Carnival ships, The new dine when you want option is GREAT! Rather than be stuck with early seating or late seating, you got to go to the sit down dining room and eat when you want! Previously the only option was eat when you are scheduled or you have to eat from the buffet line that is open from 5:30-7:30. I like the sit down getting served experience, but as we all know, sometimes we sleep in late, have a late breakfast and a late lunch and so you aren't ready to eat at 5:45. While we never had more than a 5 minute wait to be seated, I did see later times had a little more of a wait, but even then it didn't seem like people waited for more than 10 minutes. The waiters were just as friendly....and they tried to sit you (if you asked) with the same waiter that you had previously!
Stateroom Quality
Still kept up nice.....could use some softer sheets, but overall, I was very pleased.
Ship Staff Quality
Everyone was very friendly and accessible.....never a problem or question that didn't get answered quickly.
Entertainment & Activities
Carnival has tried to "mix it up" a little and now offers a lot of "comedy" on the ship. This did somewhat make up for the fact that their shows are old and outdated. These same shows I have seen at least 5 times on other Carnival ships. The magician was new and that was refreshing, but the "Liberty Dancers" did the same shows as the "Valor Dancers" and the "Victory Dancers", etc. Buy some new copyright material to give repeat customers something different than the same old song and dance that you get no matter what ship you go on. I expect to see the same if I am on the same ship perhaps, but different ships should offer different shows....or at a minimum, new shows every 2-3 years. We saw the same shows as we saw back in February 2006, April 2007, March 2008 and August 2009.

Having been to this port before we just got off the ship and did the shopping right in the port.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica
BEWARE of this port....you get approached at least two dozen times by two dozen different individuals trying to give you a taxi ride downtown, even if you are just walking to the shopping right at the port. Additionally, we were approached at least twice by individuals trying to sell illegal substances. The shopping is similar to other ports. We have done this trip before, so we just shopped this trip. Be sure to shop around. We found a cute wooden cut out piece of local art of two kissing giraffes....one place wanted to sell it to us at $110 (after telling us that it is usually $180, but just for us they would give it to us at $110)....walked a bit further and finally ended up getting it for $30. Don't be afraid to walk away from even what you think is a good deal, likely there is a better one in store for you.
Don't Miss:
Dunn's River Falls (we didn't go on it this trip, but I have done it 4-5 times, always worth it)!!!
