Terrible food and even worse Customer Se by
Meg from North Carolina Sailing date: Apr 2007Pros: Large cabins. As an experienced cruiser, I had many cruises to compare this one to. Absolutely the worst cruise I have ever been on in my life. The customer service was none existent. It was not bad it just was not there, period! The food was terrible. Overcooked, bland and and just downright bad. If you are cruisung for the cabins then you are in luck. They are nice and spacious. The bathroom was nice and large also. The boat itself is very clean. Other than that, can not say anything else postive about the experience. Entertainment & Activities

Do not miss snorkeling over the ship wreck in Georgetown. Absolutely the best my husband and I have done! Great experience. Saw a turtle, eel, squid, tarpon and every tropical fish none to man.

  Extremely disappointing. by
Barry from Welaka, FL Sailing date: Apr 2007Pros: It is a very pretty ship. The stateroom are roomy and the bathrooms are exceptionally large. We cruised on the Costa Magica cruise to Bermuda on 4/15/07. Just to put this in perspective, we are frequent cruisers (we have been on at least 8-10 cruises in the past several years). The most disappointing part of our cruise was the food. In particular, the buffets offered little selections. A good portion of the buffet table was taken up with different types of bread rather than an array of food choices. The desserts selections were extremely disappointing, ice cream and cake. If there was pie, it was gone before you found out about it. We have been on cruises where the hamburgers are cooked to order and find that putting hamburgers in a buffet tray is extremely unappetizing. Perhaps, the issue was that the staff had little knowledge of the English language. Our dissatisfaction with Costa was emphasized by the fact that AT NO TIME during our 7 day cruise, did a waiter or waitress come up to us either at a table our sitting the any of the public areas and asked us if we would like a drink. I THINK THIS IS JUST PLAIN STUPID ON THE PART OF THE CRUISE LINE. They are missing the boat since this is obviously a "money making" opportunity for the cruise line having the "only game in town". Other cruise lines, has wait staff walking around with the drink of the day on trays tempting you to buy one. At $5.25 a drink, this is definitely a missed opportunity. The dinner menu was certainly better than the buffet, but it was certainly "nothing to write home about". On almost every dinner menu, there was some type of steak, which the cooks managed to crucify. The waiters in the restaurant were certainly the highlight of the trip, but again, they could use a good dose of training. They were very personable, but the lacked the flair. I do not feel this is their fault, but due to lack of good training. During the cruise, our stateroom flooded twice because the drains were, apparently, clogged. When I called "Guest Services", this situation was finally fixed. The "Captain's" cocktail party was no less dissappointing. There were a limited number of waiters and waitresses serving drinks (it was the same during the shows) and again, I feel they are missing out on a great money making opportunity. There were no h'oeurve dors served at all as we have had on ALL of our previous cruises. Unfortunately, we had many other lines to compare them to. If this were our first cruise, we would probably never take another one. I feel that it is very important that we share our thoughts, so that perhaps there can be a chance for improvement. We spoke ot many other passengers on the cruise and, unfortunately, their feelings were the same as ours. I don't believe we are being overly critical, but we expect "GOOD FOOD" and "GOOD SERVICE" when we take a cruise. Entertainment & Activities

Nassau, BahamasDon' miss Atlantis in Nassau.
We took a taxi in Nassau to the Atlantis Hotel where we took tour of the grounds and their extensive aquariums. It was a beautiful experience.

  Great ship, Poor Cruiseline. by
Ken from Atlanta, GA Sailing date: Apr 2006Pros: Everything about the ship was great. 2 things were great about this cruise, the ship and the pizza! Everything else is downhill from there. Unfriendly and non-accomadating staff, food quality not up to par for this class of ship (and I DO like Italian food) and the cruiseline was completely unorganized from embarkment to disembarkment. Great ship for the price.... but I would rather pay more than to ever sail with this cruiseline again. Entertainment & Activities

Are you sure this is Costa? by
Donya from Atlanta, GA Sailing date: Apr 2007Pros: Great entertainment. I had a great time, but I will never choose this ship again. It was not representative of the luxury, customer service, and elegance I have come to expect from Costa cruise lines from experiences in the past. Entertainment & Activities

Great ship, service and entertainment. by
Bonnie from Canada Sailing date: Mar 2007Pros: The decor throughout the ship. My husband and I thought the ship was gorgeous and exceptionally clean. We loved our stateroom and thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment that the talented staff provided. We would definitely cruise with Costa again if the price was affordable for us. Grand Turk IslandGrand Turk has beautiful beaches.
We enjoyed sitting on the beach with a drink but where the drink was bought shortchanged a customer while my husband was waiting to be served and the second time he went to make a purchased he was shortchanged. He brought it to the attention of the server who was then rude. The businesses should be made aware that honesty really is the best policy for tourism to grow.
Don't Miss: The beach. San Juan, Puerto RicoChanges in San Juan.
We noticed a huge change in San Juan since we were there 15 years ago. At that time I felt I had never been to a more dirty place and this time the streets, buildings, waterfront, etc. were much cleaner and pleasant to see.
Don't Miss: If you are in the market for jewellry I'd say don't miss the bargains on diamonds, etc. Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.St. Thomas is beautiful.
We did a little shopping for souvenirs and was satisfied with prices. Took an excursion to the mountain top and the view/scenery was beautiful. We enjoyed our second visit to St. Thomas.
Don't Miss: Don't miss going to the highest level to take advantage of the overall view. It's where the scenery can be most appreciated. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.
