Are you sure this is Costa?
by Donya from Atlanta, GA
Sailing date:
Apr 2007
Pros:
Great entertainment.
I had a great time, but I will never choose this ship again. It was not representative of the luxury, customer service, and elegance I have come to expect from Costa cruise lines from experiences in the past.

Great Service.
by Patricia from Utica, NY, USA
Sailing date:
Apr 2007
Pros:
The food was fantastic. I think the best I've had on a cruiseship.
The food was excellent. In particular - our waiter was fantastic. He was very accommodating to my husband who had a special diet and ordered unlike most people. The activities on board - were nice - the entertaining was very good. Overall - a very nice experience. The price of a cocktail or mixed drink was very expensive - more so than other cruiselines. That could influence which cruiseline I chose for the next trip.

Great ship, service and entertainment.
by Bonnie from Canada
Sailing date:
Mar 2007
Pros:
The decor throughout the ship.
My husband and I thought the ship was gorgeous and exceptionally clean. We loved our stateroom and thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment that the talented staff provided. We would definitely cruise with Costa again if the price was affordable for us.

Grand Turk has beautiful beaches. We enjoyed sitting on the beach with a drink but where the drink was bought shortchanged a customer while my husband was waiting to be served and the second time he went to make a purchased he was shortchanged. He brought it to the attention of the server who was then rude. The businesses should be made aware that honesty really is the best policy for tourism to grow.
Don't Miss:
The beach.
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Changes in San Juan. We noticed a huge change in San Juan since we were there 15 years ago. At that time I felt I had never been to a more dirty place and this time the streets, buildings, waterfront, etc. were much cleaner and pleasant to see.
Don't Miss:
If you are in the market for jewellry I'd say don't miss the bargains on diamonds, etc.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.
St. Thomas is beautiful. We did a little shopping for souvenirs and was satisfied with prices. Took an excursion to the mountain top and the view/scenery was beautiful. We enjoyed our second visit to St. Thomas.
Don't Miss:
Don't miss going to the highest level to take advantage of the overall view. It's where the scenery can be most appreciated.

I was a little bit disappointed that there was nothing to see, but once again the weather was great and so was the beach\!!

There are only jewellery, liquor and make up stores, but they have good prices. If you want to buy diamonds you have to go there!!!
Don't Miss:

Terrible food and even worse Customer Se
by Meg from North Carolina
Sailing date:
Apr 2007
Pros:
Large cabins.
As an experienced cruiser, I had many cruises to compare this one to. Absolutely the worst cruise I have ever been on in my life. The customer service was none existent. It was not bad it just was not there, period! The food was terrible. Overcooked, bland and and just downright bad. If you are cruisung for the cabins then you are in luck. They are nice and spacious. The bathroom was nice and large also. The boat itself is very clean. Other than that, can not say anything else postive about the experience.

The Best Snokeling. Do not miss snorkeling over the ship wreck in Georgetown. Absolutely the best my husband and I have done! Great experience. Saw a turtle, eel, squid, tarpon and every tropical fish none to man.
Don't Miss:
Snorkeling over the ship wreck.

Wonderful cruise experience!
by Jade from Brooklyn, NY, USA
Sailing date:
Apr 2007
Pros:
The decor of the ship was wonderful and the hospitality of the waiters and waitresses.
From start to finish the trip was very enjoyable, and informative with all of the information needed to enjoy myself and get the best and most out of every aspect of the cruise. I would definately recommend Costa Cruise Lines to anyone who would like to go on a cruise and get a little of everything in one trip.

Cozumel is Beautiful! I enjoyed the day at Playa Mia! I went kayaking and enjoyed a wonderful massage on the beach. I would definately recommend this destination to anyone.
Don't Miss:
Massage at Playa Mia.
Key West, Florida
Key West. I don't think there was enough time for me to get the most out of this destination. We embarked at 9 AM and Disembarked at 12 noon.
George Town, Grand Cayman
Grand Cayman was the best! I went on an excursion to go snorkeling at Stingray City! It was a wonderful experience! Afterwards, I went shopping for jewelry and licquer. I really feel that I got the most out of this destination in particular.
Don't Miss:
The Tortuga Shops.

Exquisite ship and crew make the grade d
by Derbygal from Charlotte, NC, USA
Sailing date:
Apr 2007
Pros:
Crew members exceptional service/friendliness.
Despite the loss of a non-refundable excursion in one port due to ship announcement error, and the departure delays which cost us excursion time in another port, we're rating the ship with a high grade! The ship was clean and nicely furnished (minus points for the creepy arms holding lightbulbs everywhere), and the crew was excellent in manners and attitude! The Italian feel was warm and inviting, and the food was outstanding for the areas we ate in! The presence of what appeared to be the gnome in the picture above our bed was a bit disconcerting, as was the bed itself (the matress of which was hard as a rock), but we liked the spaciousness of our stateroom & the general overall ship layout. We didn't participate in much as there didn't appear to be a very large selection of varied structured activities offered, but we relaxed and enjoyed ourselves peacefully without experiencing any dull moments, and the crew members service and friendliness were of exceptional quality! Of the 4 different lines we've tried (Costa included), this climbed right up there in a tied spot at #2! We'd go again, and highly recommend!

Despite a missed & non-refunded excursion, Cozumel gets rave reviews!!! Our excursion departed early leaving us behind to fend for ourselves without plans for the day, but we were able to explore Cozumel at leisure, taking pictures, eating good food, having great drinks, and enjoying a great time which we would've missed out on had our excursion taken place as planned!
Don't Miss:
Have some great food or a margarita at Carlos & Charlies, shopping at Los Cinco Soles.
Key West, Florida
Key West History, Art, Culture, & More. We took a guided tour of Key West learning about the history and culture of the area while curling through the heart of the entertainment district and around the key historic sites down to the Southernmost Point and back North again, passing Jimmy Buffet's old house, driving by mile 0, and finally reaching our destination tour of the Hemmingway House. The guided tour through the house still afforded us time to explore and enjoy the surrounding grounds/gardens at a leisurely pace, where we took tons of pictures of the many cats enhabiting the estate today. The tour dropped us back in the heart of the shopping district near the port where we purchased souveniers and enjoyed a drink in the open air at a local establishment before returning to the ship.
Don't Miss:
I would say don't miss the Key West & Hemmingway House tour, but there's a ton of other great excursions out there!
George Town, Grand Cayman
Excursion tender departure delays costly against valuable excursion time. Excursion tender departure delays caused about an hour and a half of waiting before getting to shore - well into planned excursion times - the result of which severely shortened our scuba excursion time (a VERY expensive excursion), not to mention many others whose excursions started late and had to be cut short due to time restrictions at port. No monies were refunded nor were apologies made for these ship caused delays, but the local excursion people & taxis were friendly and did their best to be accommodating. We were unable to explore, shop, or experience this destination in any other capacity due to our shortened time on shore. This port of call needed more time docked and earlier plans for tendering excursion groups.
