We had a great cruise! by Russ A. from OKC, OK
Sailing date: Dec 2012

Pros:
Always the experience, with excellent service, along with excellent escargot and lobster.

Cons:
Ate to much, but hard to blame the ship staff for that.

This was our 25th cruise and have cruised on most of the cruiselines. Everything was great.

A disappointing experience. by A Traveler from Enfield, CT
Sailing date: Jan 2012

Pros:
Spa pool

Cons:
"can't help you attitude of many crew members and a lack of participation from senior staff

Based on prior information I thought Princess cruise lines offered a luxury experience. After being on the Caribbean Princess I googled it and discovered it was a budget cruise. It was indeed a budget experience.

Dining/Food
The dining room was average for a cruise but the Lido deck food courts were substandard in food selection and presentation. There were no premium tropical fruits offered and some stations were infrequently staffed - such as the specialty omelets.

Would never go on Princess again read... by Susan  from Michigan
Sailing date: Dec 2011

Pros:
We had a great room service person and the service was very good in cover charge Steak house

Cons:
The attitude of the front desk management was terrible, food bad also

I am 55 years old, been on many cruise vacations, this was by far the WORST too bad we paid a top dollar over the New Year holiday. We had many issues with our room, the front desk management refused to offer any consideration for our issues, broken balcony door, plumbing issues, in fact the front desk management's attitude explains the poor overall attitude and service on this ship. We all felt as we were not welcome we had two rooms for the family of 4. The food was inferior, including small lunch buffets with many friend and inexpensive items I would not eat at home, much less on a vacation, fried chicken nuggets, fired peanut and banana on white bread, never tried the stuff. The selection for the food was just about the same ever day, little variety. We were on deck 11 and our balcony was very narrow, half the size of those on deck 9 and 10 NOT worth the money, when we booked told the balcony was larger on deck 11-not honest business. The water system was broken for two days, salt water from the tap and this was served for the coffee, salty coffee, salty iced tea, no mention to the guest, those who had medical conditions such as high blood pressure or heart disease were not warned. I think Princess did not correct the issue promptly to make extra money selling more bottled water, sodas, and other beverages at the bar. This was the worst service and ship I have ever been on. Don't spoil your vacation, choose another cruise line!

Dining/Food
If you wanted a nice dinner with good service, you had to pay the extra $25.00 per person and go to the Steak house, the service was very good and we enjoyed it. WE two decent dinners out of the 6 we ate in the main dining room, service was very slow and the plates were thrown once they final arrived. Two of the nights the food was so bad, we went up to the lido deck and ate pizza /buffett-not great-but better than the slop being plated.

An Average Cruise At Best by John B from Daytona Beach, Fl.
Sailing date: Dec 2011

Pros:
The islands we visited

Cons:
The service overall

IF THIS WAS MY FIRST CRUISE..I WOULDN'T GO ON ANOTHER ONE.... The wait staff "waited on you" but that was it. I'v been on 25 cruises in my life (im 56) and this was among the worst. I didn't feel welcome. I felt like cattle and they couldn't wait to get me off the boat.

Caribbean Princess was first-class by Ann A. from New York, NY
Sailing date: Oct 2011

Pros:
beautiful public spaces

Cons:
not enough room in main cafeteria

The ship was fine. My major complaint is that I thought the cafeteria was undersize and it was almost impossible to find a place to sit any time I went there and so relied on room service for breakfast most of the time. There are several options for dining, and sometimes there might be a short wait if you want to dine on your own schedule, but this was no big deal. There is less emphasis on wine selection than on other lines, such as Celebrity (my favorite line). There is no sommelier, and the list contains only very familiar wines (which may be just fine for most people). I liked the layout of our ocean-view stateroom--it seemed to have more storage room. The theater was beautiful and the entertainment was very good (but standard cruise ship stuff). Movies are shown on the sun deck, rain or shine, night and day. Interesting feature, but I can imagine how hard it would be to find a seat in the warm weather.

Ignore any comments you may read about rust, carpet wear, etc. The ship is beautiful and I found no areas of deficiency. In the public bathrooms I prefer cloth towels (as used on Celebrity) , but otherwise they were fine.

Dining/Food
Food was average cruise ship fare--no complaints here. I always steer clear of foods that may not be prepared properly such as prime rib and such. My husband had complaints about overcooked meats but everythin I had was just fine.

The room was fine--standard ocean view deck 8. I thought there was more room for storage than on most ships I've been on. I wish the selection on tv was better.

Carribean Princess New Years Week Cruise by Sharon P. from Broadway, NC
Sailing date: Dec 2009

Pros:
I enjoyed having a wonderful cabin steward and a cabin with a balcony.

Cons:
The entertainment was a big disappointment. Cruise Director was hardly every seen. The food was O.K. but nothing close to other crusies.

The ship was clean. It was not well designed for easy access to the most frequently used areas. The Christmas decorations were cheesy. The dining room staff were not friendly and many times you had to get up to help yourself in the buffet dining room for beverage service.
