An Average Cruise At Best by
John B from Daytona Beach, Fl. Sailing date: Dec 2011Pros: The islands we visited Cons: The service overall IF THIS WAS MY FIRST CRUISE..I WOULDN'T GO ON ANOTHER ONE.... The wait staff "waited on you" but that was it. I'v been on 25 cruises in my life (im 56) and this was among the worst. I didn't feel welcome. I felt like cattle and they couldn't wait to get me off the boat. Ship Qualityit's an older ship showing it's wear. Dining/Foodthis was the worst part..not up to par..i'm not picky..and don't expect Lobster everynight..but i could not wait to get home to go to Outback or Caraba's to get a meal! Stateroom QualityWe had a mmini suite...it was ok.. Ship Staff QualityAs is anything..there were good and bad..but when i'm on a cruise..i don't expect BAD Entertainment & ActivitiesThis was the good part..i thought the entertainment was good. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

We had a great cruise! by
Russ A. from OKC, OK Sailing date: Dec 2012Pros: Always the experience, with excellent service, along with excellent escargot and lobster. Cons: Ate to much, but hard to blame the ship staff for that. This was our 25th cruise and have cruised on most of the cruiselines. Everything was great. Dining/FoodA great dining experience at all areas! Stateroom QualityVery helpful to our every need. Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & ActivitiesVery entertaining 2 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

  Great experience! by
Michelle from Mableton, GA Sailing date: Aug 2007Pros: All the things to do like Movies under the Stars and just relaxation. It was very clean and beautiful also. Everything was great from the food to entertainment. As this was our first cruise we did not know what to expect but it was better than we thought. Just do not get sucked into all the stuff they try to sell you- the spa is nice but of course they sell you so much stuff to with whatever service you get it is really expensive, the passport to savings book is a scam in my opinion they lure you in with promises of free stuff and savings but not worth it at all. Ship was clean there was always something to do and met really nice people. We are going to go again next year! Dining/Food
Stateroom QualityBeds were small.
Ship Staff QualityMet some really nice staff members that gave excellent service.
Entertainment & ActivitiesActivities: Always something to do. They need to make the gym "adults only". You turn around and a 5 year old is playing on the treadmill you wanted to use.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)Just great. A perfect relaxing island experience.
Just perfect from beginning to end. Relaxation, beautiful unspoiled beaches with great snorkeling the bbq was great. No pressure no shopping just perfect!
Don't Miss: Snorkeling. Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.Great island to visit!
Beautiful! We did not pay for an excursion from the boat when we disembarked the taxi guy told us he would take us around and it was much cheaper and we saw almost everything! It was great!
Don't Miss: All the different beaches. Philipsburg, St. MaartenNice place to visit.
St. Maarten is nice. You do not have to pay for an excursion from the ship as the island has its own bus system and you can go from the Dutch to French side for 2 dollars. I was not amazed with this island though. It was a bit dirty.
Don't Miss: The French side of the island. 2 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

  Caribbean Princess was first-class by
Ann A. from New York, NY Sailing date: Oct 2011Pros: beautiful public spaces Cons: not enough room in main cafeteria The ship was fine. My major complaint is that I thought the cafeteria was undersize and it was almost impossible to find a place to sit any time I went there and so relied on room service for breakfast most of the time. There are several options for dining, and sometimes there might be a short wait if you want to dine on your own schedule, but this was no big deal. There is less emphasis on wine selection than on other lines, such as Celebrity (my favorite line). There is no sommelier, and the list contains only very familiar wines (which may be just fine for most people). I liked the layout of our ocean-view stateroom--it seemed to have more storage room. The theater was beautiful and the entertainment was very good (but standard cruise ship stuff). Movies are shown on the sun deck, rain or shine, night and day. Interesting feature, but I can imagine how hard it would be to find a seat in the warm weather. Ship QualityIgnore any comments you may read about rust, carpet wear, etc. The ship is beautiful and I found no areas of deficiency. In the public bathrooms I prefer cloth towels (as used on Celebrity) , but otherwise they were fine. Dining/FoodFood was average cruise ship fare--no complaints here. I always steer clear of foods that may not be prepared properly such as prime rib and such. My husband had complaints about overcooked meats but everythin I had was just fine. Stateroom QualityThe room was fine--standard ocean view deck 8. I thought there was more room for storage than on most ships I've been on. I wish the selection on tv was better. Ship Staff QualityEveryone was wonderful Entertainment & ActivitiesStandard cruise ship stuff. Very nice.

Bar Harbor, MaineNice town with lots of shopping. Acadia Nat'l Park is a must-see. Many opportunities to eat lobster and blueberry pie.
Don't Miss: Acadia Nat'l Park. Boston, MassachusettsWe rented a car from Enterprise and drove to Plimouth Plantation, an hour south. If you do rent a car, watch out for traffic and plan accordingly so that you're back in time. Enterprise is very accommodating and will drive you back to the pier.
Don't Miss: All the Freedom Trail stuff, which we'd done before. Newport, Rhode IslandSince I had seen the mansions before we just went for a walk on the Cliff Walk and wandered around town. It is a beautiful little town with lots of good shopping. Makes me wish I were rich!
Don't Miss: The mansions Halifax, Nova ScotiaThe Citadel and Maritime Museum are interesting. I thought he hop on and hop off bus was very overpriced at $39, although the narrated tour aspect is good. Most tourist sites is within walking distance if you are in reasonably good shape. The local folks here were very nice.
Don't Miss: The Maritime Museum and the Citadel. Loved the various uniforms. Saint John, New BrunswickNot much to do in town, so most people go to the reversing falls, which is a bus ride away.
Don't Miss: The provincvial museum is fabulous! Three floors of state-of-the-art presentations on local history, naturanl history, and local art. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

Had a Good Time for the Most Part by
Gregory A from Chicago Sailing date: Apr 2009Pros: Staff is very attentive, the food is good Cons: Embarkation not efficient, Shore excursion issues Although we had a good time, my wife and I agreed that this cruise was not as good as the other 3 we have taken with Princess. I can't put my finger on the specific issue so maybe it was just us but it didn't seem like people laughed as much as our last cruise.
The embarkation process seemed to take a long time. Not all the check in stations were manned. We arrived after 3 as the cruise line suggested but it still took in excess of an hour to get on the ship from the time we arrived at the cruise terminal.
We also had a shore excursion conflict on Antigua. Luckily we discovered the mix up in our ticket package but it would have been nice if the shore excursion desk was more proactive. Instead we had to find the error. It turned out that we made our reservations on the web but the tour operator cancelled at the last moment. The shore excursion desk just moved the time without checking to see if we had another excursion planned.
The itinerary was great but we caught a bad break on the timing. All the shops were closed on Barbados due to a holiday. The same thing happened later in the cruise when we were in St. Thomas. This was not all that big a deal to me but if you like to shop a lot then you would have been disappointed. Ship QualityNo gripes here Dining/Food
Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff QualityThe staff did everything in their power to ensure we had a good time. Entertainment & ActivitiesI would have liked my comedy performers.

Castries, St. LuciaThis is a beautiful island.
Don't Miss: I enjoyed the catamaran trip to the Pitons Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.It was carnival so the shops in town were closed.
Don't Miss: On deck open sail racing - If you don't do anything else, do this. Tortola, British Virgin IslandsMy favorite island on this cruise.
Don't Miss: Take a trip to Kane Garden Bay 3 out of 6 people found this review helpful.
