Fun cruise with plenty to do, but the cu by

Ship Staff QualityI had no problems with our housekeeper or waiters. My BIG problem was with the customer service reps. I had two issues and both were handled in a poor manner and is the #1 and only reason I will never travel on Princess again. First issue was with an outside purchase that was made from one of their guaranteed shops on the last day when I received the items for packing they were wrong and was offered no help with the situation. #2 I filled out gratuity form and then was told it was too late change.

  Too many kids. by
Terri from Le Grand, CA Sailing date: Feb 2007Pros: Outdoor movies. There were kids everywhere - the staff did nothing to prevent the kids from running all over the place - even in the adult areas of the pool and spa. The cruise is very boring. Entertainment & Activities

Jim from Chicago, Illinois Sailing date: Jun 2007I wanted to see the islands...each one was worse than the one before. Hawking you every opportunity. Same jewelry stores owned by same family...not a bargain at all. Would not book on Princess again. Booze was too high of a price. 14 days was too long.... Entertainment & Activities

  Bad experience. by
Angie from USA Sailing date: Mar 2007Well I chose Princess thinking that it would be better than my first cruise. Boy was I wrong. The ship's design was plain and boring. The food was ok. The staff is probably what made my trip a bad experience. They weren't nice and friendly. The activites seemed to be more for older people and since I had the late seating I missed all the shows. The shows that I did go to were boring. The performers weren't all that great. There so much to write but so little time. The ports were all very very beautiful especially Princess Cays. That was the only best part of the cruise but it didn't last long enough. Entertainment & ActivitiesActivities: It was a disappointment. Most of the activites seemed for older people.
Entertainment: Boring...says it all.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)The best part of the trip.
This is the most beautiful place ever. The water is crystal clear and fishes swim right up to you for food. The only bad part about this port is the disembarktion. It took forever!!!! My advice wake up early for this port, it will be worth it.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.
Philipsburg, St. MaartenDon't Miss: The shopping. The prices on this island is a lot cheaper then the rest! 1 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

  Caribbean Princess was first-class by
Ann A. from New York, NY Sailing date: Oct 2011Pros: beautiful public spaces Cons: not enough room in main cafeteria The ship was fine. My major complaint is that I thought the cafeteria was undersize and it was almost impossible to find a place to sit any time I went there and so relied on room service for breakfast most of the time. There are several options for dining, and sometimes there might be a short wait if you want to dine on your own schedule, but this was no big deal. There is less emphasis on wine selection than on other lines, such as Celebrity (my favorite line). There is no sommelier, and the list contains only very familiar wines (which may be just fine for most people). I liked the layout of our ocean-view stateroom--it seemed to have more storage room. The theater was beautiful and the entertainment was very good (but standard cruise ship stuff). Movies are shown on the sun deck, rain or shine, night and day. Interesting feature, but I can imagine how hard it would be to find a seat in the warm weather. Ship QualityIgnore any comments you may read about rust, carpet wear, etc. The ship is beautiful and I found no areas of deficiency. In the public bathrooms I prefer cloth towels (as used on Celebrity) , but otherwise they were fine. Dining/FoodFood was average cruise ship fare--no complaints here. I always steer clear of foods that may not be prepared properly such as prime rib and such. My husband had complaints about overcooked meats but everythin I had was just fine. Stateroom QualityThe room was fine--standard ocean view deck 8. I thought there was more room for storage than on most ships I've been on. I wish the selection on tv was better. Ship Staff QualityEveryone was wonderful Entertainment & ActivitiesStandard cruise ship stuff. Very nice.

Bar Harbor, MaineNice town with lots of shopping. Acadia Nat'l Park is a must-see. Many opportunities to eat lobster and blueberry pie.
Don't Miss: Acadia Nat'l Park. Boston, MassachusettsWe rented a car from Enterprise and drove to Plimouth Plantation, an hour south. If you do rent a car, watch out for traffic and plan accordingly so that you're back in time. Enterprise is very accommodating and will drive you back to the pier.
Don't Miss: All the Freedom Trail stuff, which we'd done before. Newport, Rhode IslandSince I had seen the mansions before we just went for a walk on the Cliff Walk and wandered around town. It is a beautiful little town with lots of good shopping. Makes me wish I were rich!
Don't Miss: The mansions Halifax, Nova ScotiaThe Citadel and Maritime Museum are interesting. I thought he hop on and hop off bus was very overpriced at $39, although the narrated tour aspect is good. Most tourist sites is within walking distance if you are in reasonably good shape. The local folks here were very nice.
Don't Miss: The Maritime Museum and the Citadel. Loved the various uniforms. Saint John, New BrunswickNot much to do in town, so most people go to the reversing falls, which is a bus ride away.
Don't Miss: The provincvial museum is fabulous! Three floors of state-of-the-art presentations on local history, naturanl history, and local art. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

  Great Time by
Natalie R. from Phoenix, AZ Sailing date: Oct 2008Pros: Food and entertainment Cons: Amount you have to pay for cruise pictures. We had the best time on the cruise. We had 3 days at sea and the crew made sure the people onboard were having a great time. The was a HUGE screen by the pool deck so you could enjoy a few movies. The entertainment, avtivities and the food were great.
Will suggest to friends and family. The staff was on point and our cabin guy was really nice and helpful. Ship Quality

  Good experience. by
A Traveler from South Florida Sailing date: Sep 2007Pros: Anytime dining. Everything was satisfactory, but nothing was spectacular either. The ship was very clean and the crew worked really hard but no one was overly friendly. We liked anytime dining but the food was much better if you ate early in the evening. Overall it was a good experience. We were never hungry or bored and had a nice vacation, we would do it again. The only issue was customer service after we returned. A family member ordered a gift of champagne and strawberries for us and we never received it. They issued a refund but it was a hassle. They didn't really care about their mistake and it didn't leave a good impression. Dining/Food

  Great destinations. by
Joseph from Kansas City, KS, USA Sailing date: Jul 2007Pros: The ships best features were the ease and accessiblity of everything. The desinations were amazing, the US Virgin Islands were top notch, and the activities were fun. I would cruise again with princess but I would choose a different destination next time just to see more of the world!!! Dining/Food
Stateroom QualityEverything was great except that the two twin beds pushed together made it hard because of the crack that you had to sleep on.
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & ActivitiesActivities: The activities were great except that we felt that they were all packed together and usually right after dinner.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)Paddle boats.
We went paddle boating and it was fun, but I caution all... it is very tiring.
Don't Miss: Take advantage of the water sports. Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.Megan's Bay, don't miss it!
We toured the island on two different excursion, the mountain top-scenic view, and the coral world. I would have rather gone to the coral world early in the morning and went swimming on Megan's bay but we miss that opportunity, don't do the same. The beach is just beautiful!!
Don't Miss: Megan's Bay. Philipsburg, St. MaartenScuba diving.
My bride and I chose the guided scuba diving off shore excursion and it was amazing. The dive shop and crew in St. Maarten are just great and it was all for a great price. I would dive again with them any time.
Don't Miss: Scuba diving. 2 out of 4 people found this review helpful.
