	Overall Rating: About the Reviewer: Age: 50 - 65 Cruise Experience: 4 - 6 cruises Traveler Type: Couple Stateroom Type: Balcony Had a Good Time for the Most Part by Gregory A from Chicago Sailing date: Apr 2009 Pros: Staff is very attentive, the food is good Cons: Embarkation not efficient, Shore excursion issues Although we had a good time, my wife and I agreed that this cruise was not as good as the other 3 we have taken with Princess. I can't put my finger on the specific issue so maybe it was just us but it didn't seem like people laughed as much as our last cruise. The embarkation process seemed to take a long time. Not all the check in stations were manned. We arrived after 3 as the cruise line suggested but it still took in excess of an hour to get on the ship from the time we arrived at the cruise terminal. We also had a shore excursion conflict on Antigua. Luckily we discovered the mix up in our ticket package but it would have been nice if the shore excursion desk was more proactive. Instead we had to find the error. It turned out that we made our reservations on the web but the tour operator cancelled at the last moment. The shore excursion desk just moved the time without checking to see if we had another excursion planned. The itinerary was great but we caught a bad break on the timing. All the shops were closed on Barbados due to a holiday. The same thing happened later in the cruise when we were in St. Thomas. This was not all that big a deal to me but if you like to shop a lot then you would have been disappointed. Entertainment & Activities I would have liked my comedy performers. Bridgetown, Barbados The shops in town were closed for Hero's Day so the shopping was limited to what was right by the ship Castries, St. Lucia This is a beautiful island. Don't Miss: I enjoyed the catamaran trip to the Pitons Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. It was carnival so the shops in town were closed. Don't Miss: On deck open sail racing - If you don't do anything else, do this. Tortola, British Virgin Islands My favorite island on this cruise. We had the best time on the cruise. We had 3 days at sea and the crew made sure the people onboard were having a great time. The was a HUGE screen by the pool deck so you could enjoy a few movies. The entertainment, avtivities and the food were great. Will suggest to friends and family. The staff was on point and our cabin guy was really nice and helpful. Ship was huge! Ship Details: Ship Quality it was very clean and uodated. Dining/Food Food was great! The steakhouse and italian restarant are a MUST DO !!!! Stateroom Quality Rooms were nice. Could use new comforters but were very clean. Had interoir cabin which was great because we had no idea what time sun came up and were able to sleep in. Everything was satisfactory, but nothing was spectacular either. The ship was very clean and the crew worked really hard but no one was overly friendly. We liked anytime dining but the food was much better if you ate early in the evening. Overall it was a good experience. We were never hungry or bored and had a nice vacation, we would do it again. The only issue was customer service after we returned. A family member ordered a gift of champagne and strawberries for us and we never received it. They issued a refund but it was a hassle. The desinations were amazing, the US Virgin Islands were top notch, and the activities were fun. I would cruise again with princess but I would choose a different destination next time just to see more of the world!!! We went paddle boating and it was fun, but I caution all... it is very tiring. Don't Miss: Take advantage of the water sports. Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. Megan's Bay, don't miss it! We toured the island on two different excursion, the mountain top-scenic view, and the coral world. I would have rather gone to the coral world early in the morning and went swimming on Megan's bay but we miss that opportunity, don't do the same. The beach is just beautiful!! Don't Miss: Megan's Bay. Philipsburg, St. Maarten Scuba diving. My bride and I chose the guided scuba diving off shore excursion and it was amazing. The itinary was delightful. The overal trip was enjoyable, and the itinery was delightful. The ship's Decor was lacking, Cheap Prints lots of foe finish, reminded me of Las Vegas Excalibar finish. George Town, Grand Cayman Very disappointed in Sting Ray City. Very few sting rays to see. Ocho Rios, Jamaica The port was a nasty commercial vessle port. The people were very intrusive and rude.
