Best Cruise Destination - ALASKA!
by Taras T from Tulsa, OK
Sailing date:
Jul 2011
Pros:
ALASKA
Cons:
Getting to Seattle by plane
A cruise to Alaska is the best way to visit Alaska. Some very interesting places have no access to them but by water and air. Obviously, it would be difficult to travel by air to a few cities in one trip. So, it just leaves the water. And, if you are staying in an all-inclusive resort, i.e. a luxury cruise liner - you have the best of the best!

Princess Cruises really impressed us with their service, cleanliness and food!
Dining/Food
24 hour a day, literally, all you can eat exclusive food of every flavor!
Stateroom Quality
We went relatively cheap. The room was small, but we really didn't spend much time in it.

The Glacier was spectacular! Go there by a local shuttle - $16 both ways. They will tell you everything you need to know about the city during the ride and you can spend as much time as you want at the Glacier and the waterfall.
Don't Miss:
The Glacier
Ketchikan, Alaska
Must see the town and local shops, like in every city afterwards also. Don't waste time on visiting the stores owned by cruiselines (most of the jewelry stores). Zip line adventure was awesome!
Don't Miss:
Walk through the town
Skagway, Alaska
Very pleasant nature and interesting history.
Don't Miss:
The train ride
Victoria, British Columbia
We didn't expect to see a city full of art and artists there. You feel like you are in Europe all of the sudden and there is something going on on every corner.
Don't Miss:
Walk through the city center.

Pampered and loving it.
by Kathy from Spokane, WA
Sailing date:
Sep 2006
Pros:
Great food, friendly staff, terrific entertainment, clean, comfortable surroundings, no chance of getting bored!
Love almost everything about the Princess experience. They pamper you with all kinds of comforts; the entertainment is top notch; the food is totally terrific! Loved the hot tubs, too! Having said that, I must add that I did not like the fact that they try to get you to purchase "extras" all the time -- especially did not like that Coke (and other soft drinks) were not included in the fare. Come on now, Coke?? It should not be an "extra". With all the wonderful things they provide, charging extra for soft drinks seems kind of ridiculous.

The Great Barrier Reef is a little too tourist now and I'm afraid it is causing damage to the reef. There were so many people it was hard to enjoy. Probably wouldn't do again.

...And A Good Time Was Had By All!
by Joe from Bedford, MA
Sailing date:
Jul 2006
Pros:
New anything always carries a patina, and the Sapphire Princess was comparatively new, but for this first time traveler, size was impressive, balcony accommodations welcoming, room steward friendly, food delicious, theatre entertainment enjoyable and well crafted, landscapes impressive, etc.,... Who
This was a trip we [wife, son, and girlfriend] had anticipated and planned for more than a year. From embarkation to debarkation, all aspects of our travel were excellent, efficient and without problems. One could equally credit everyone from the transfer buslines and their hosts, as well as the stateroom stewards, the ship's captain book signing, and the travelers we met on board; it was good people and flawless services which made for a faultless trip. All were a perfect compliment to our family wedding service at a garden park in Juneau. Certainly a good time was had by all! We'll be back.

Great food with large portions in the dining room. Clean staterooms and public areas. Buffet was excellent. Ports of call were top notch. Service was very good, especially in the buffet area. This was my 3rd cruise to Alaska and it exceeded my expectations in all ways. You can't go wrong with Princess.
