Excellent cruise!!!
by Dimitry K from New York
Sailing date:
Aug 2012
Pros:
Food, staff, itinerary, service
Cons:
Ship decor
Read many reviews and was expecting an average cruise but ended up being pleasantly surprised. Sailed in many NCL's before and heard that Carnival was a step below, but was definitely not the case. Food was excellent in the dining room, and although breakfasts could have been better, everything else was great. Went to the steakhouse one night and it was an incredible experience for a cruise ship. Great appetizers and main course selection and an array of vintage wines to choose to Compliment the luscious steaks. In terns of itinerary my wife and I enjoyed St Thomas the most, as it it truly heaven on earth, but did not find much to do inPuerto Rico. Turks and Caicos was also a gorgeous stop and we did the Catamaran snorkeling there. While the snorkeling itself is not great at all, the Catamaran ride, private beach after and all you can drink made up for it. On the way back we went to 2 shows and they were excellent! Also, the lie music every night at Franky and Johnnnies is not to be missed. The swimming pools do get overcrowded so we spent a lot of our time at the serenity adults only pool which is a great feature on this ship. Overall, extremely happy with our vcation. Forgot to mention, we had an extended balcony room which wad excellent in size and was cleaned timely everyday by extremely attentive staff who greeted us by our names every day!

First time was a great time!
by James M from Wolcott, CT
Sailing date:
Jul 2012
Pros:
Staff and availability of them when a need arose
Cons:
Too short of stays at the islands
The cruise was actually much better than I thought it would be as we were a first time family and were a little fearful of this vacation...

Cruise from NYC
by A Traveler from Poconos, Pennsylvania
Sailing date:
Jun 2012
Pros:
The ports of call were the highlight of the trip.
Cons:
Breakfast/ brunch in the dining room was a terrible experience.
The ship was showing it's age. This was our second time on this particular ship. The shows were the same as three years ago; it was disappointing that they were not changed in three years (even the costumes were the same). Breakfast and Lunch is no longer an option in the dining room; it is now called breakfast/ brunch. The seating arrangements are not clear and the staff, particularly Olga, was very short tempered and actually refused to bring menus when people did not see the small sign to wait to be seated and no one was present at the desk upon entering. Many people got up and walked out of the brunch. Our dinner service was excellent however and lunch on the upper deck was great. There was a storm on the last sea day. We would have appreciated a warning that the weather was going to be bad and the ship's movement was going to increase; that way we could have taken medication to head off sea sickness, especially in the children. There was no way to access the forecast.

A great time!
by Melissa C. from Matawan, NJ
Sailing date:
May 2012
Pros:
Service was excellent our room was cleaned 2 or 3 times per day. Every person on the ship was personsble and helpful!
Cons:
Food was better on royal caribbean but overall we had a great time!
I liked the ship. Each room was themed ex: mad hatters lounge-alice in wonderland theme.frankensteins lab the club was a lot of fun and the dj was excellent! The dining room kind of reminded me of a diner or something because it wasnt nearly as fancy as Royal Caribbean or Princess, but I didnt really care about the decor..service was excellent both in dining room & our room.

Ship was kept very clean!
Dining/Food
although there was a variety of food on the ship, I was not impressed. We had anytime dining so I think our food was reheated. I would recommend the 815 dining because I think they make the food fresh. I will say if you want a hot bite to eat go up to deck 9 & they had pizza, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs & french fries.
Stateroom Quality
We had an oceanview room which was bigger than I had expected. We were fortunate to be on deck 1 rivieria, so we didnt experience "sea sickness". We got to see the atlantic ocean as well as great views from our room!
Ship Staff Quality
One night we had slept through dinner completely so we got deli food on deck #9. It was delicious! I was saying to my bf how I wanted a cookie for dessert but there werent any left. A worker overheard me and brought me a plate of several cookies, which was very nice. The staff is very accommodating of your personal needs.
Entertainment & Activities
There were some fun activities like the hairy chest contest, the deck party, the comedians were great but at times we felt bored. We also had some bad weather so maybe that put a damper on things.

An average cruise for the money we spent
by Kathy M from Jensen Beach, FL
Sailing date:
Mar 2012
Pros:
The food was good 4 out of 8 days
Cons:
Not the best service. Rooms need to be updated.
Not very happy with this Carnival "Miracle" ship. It was an ok average cruise. We thought with an 8 day cruise we would get a balcony room with the 3 of us in 1 room (myself, husband & 9 yr. old son). Then get another next door balcony room for my parents. To say it was tight is putting it mildly. The picture they have online REALLY needs to be updated (even the size specs). Not correct. The service was poor. Room always lacked something from towels to you name it. The food was good on certain days and just average to cold on others. Nothing outstanding except the Stekhouse dinner we paid extra for. This was my parents first Carnival experience. As my dad put it "if you never cruised before, I guess you would think this is how it is supposed to be, you would not know better". Well we have definitely been on better. Not impressed.

Ship ok. Casino was small. Everything was easy to find.
Dining/Food
Very average food. Room service was not good. Coffee or tea was always cold in the morning for delivery.
Stateroom Quality
Not happy with our room! Room was sooo tight. Bathroom was not very clean on check in. When you have to touch things up at the get go- I guess that was a bad sign right here!
Ship Staff Quality
People were friendly
Entertainment & Activities
OK entertainment. Last 2 nights were the best.
Children's Programs
They got it right here! My son had fun when he attended! Great job!

Least Favorite Ship We Have Sailed On
by James B from Cuba, MO
Sailing date:
Feb 2012
Pros:
Staff were great, as always
Cons:
Long list. Rarely ate on Lido due to crowding. Often no open deck lounges. Food was good but not as good as in past. We seen few people that liked the decor of dining room. Way over the top.
Dining room looked like a bad LSD trip. Way too gaudy. Lido was over crowded each time we tried to eat there. No vacant seating. Gave up trying to eat on Lido Deck. Dining room was not over crowded and we were all able to be seated (open seating) quickly. Staffing was outstanding as always. Ship was clean and well maintained.

A so-so experience
by A Traveler from Minneapolis, MN
Sailing date:
Dec 2011
Pros:
Weather and locations were beautiful
Cons:
Service not acceptable
Our cabin steward was fantastic. Weather and locations of stops & cruising was beautiful & fun. Dinner service was bad. Our head waiter didn't even ask our names until the 4th night (assigned seating with 3 other couples) and that was after one of the couples complained. We didn't get refills on water or bread unless we asked. We waited a long time to give our orders and get courses. This was in stark contrast to our other cruises - we've never had this type of experience.
