a nice cruise
by Karen V. from north jersey
Sailing date:
Aug 2011
Pros:
the steackhouse was excellent and malcolm the cruise director was wonderful
Cons:
the decor and the slippery flooring by the pools
was on a carnival cruise (the miracle) for the first time....the decor in the dining room was a little gaudy in my opinion - well actually the whole ship's decor was a bit much for me...it needs to be toned down and made less ostentatious... the staff ,though, was very nice and helpful...our rooms were larger than expected and kept spotless by housekeeping...people in the dining room were welcoming as well...dining service varied, as we had free sitting....one night we were rushed, then on another, the meal lasted 2 1/2 hours...food wasnt bad...but, frankie and johnnies - the steakhouse an additonal $30 PER PERSON -was the best meal that i had for the entire voyage...def worth the $$ also, i admired the fact that our captain was intelligent enough to avoid tropical storm Emily and kept us apprised of changes made in our itinerary...we ended up going to San Juan PR and St Thomas...which we all enjoyed...wish we had more time at the ports though, but understand that it wasnt a planned stop... the worst thing on the ship was the flooring by the pools...veryyy slippery!...i slipped and fell myself - as well as saw others do the same...the staff did attempt to keep it mopped, but it is the wrong kind of flooring... entertainment was ok...casino was nice... loved their special brew of Thirsty Frog beer....only available on ship.... all in all, it was a nice time...

Christmas Cruise on Miracle
by Diane K. from Naples, FL
Sailing date:
Dec 2010
Pros:
The cruise dancers and singers were outstanding. The ports, Grand Turk, La Romana, Aruba, Curacao were all excellent places to visit for a great cultural experience. Food was very good although we didn't enjoy the freestyle dining area.Staff was excellent in all areas . Many families and children
Cons:
Little crowded at breakfast and lunch at the buffet area with long lines, particularly on "at sea" days. Dancers and singers were spectacular but other shows were medicocre.
Overall, I would recommend this ship and cruise for families with children as there were many on the ship.

Ahhhh so relaxing
by KP from New York, NY
Sailing date:
Nov 2010
Pros:
Food
Cons:
We didn't dock in Turks due to the wind and was only credited for the port tax.
The ship was clean and well kept. The staff was great and so was the food. I'm upset that we didn't stop in Turks and there was only compensation for the port tax which was $21. I think that Carnival should have made other arrangements, such as arriving earlier at another port so that we could still had a day off the ship. The staff said that there has been previous times when the ship didn't stop at Turks due to the same wind problems. Given that info i think Carnival should do something better for their customers than a $21 tax credit.

First and Last time with Carnival
by Shen W. from New York, NY
Sailing date:
Sep 2010
Pros:
The very friendly and hardworking waiters and room service personnel
Cons:
Guest services
We will not be going on Carnival again, this was our first and last cruise and the Guest Services were beyond disgusting. My wife could not board on NY after being told by numerous Carnival agents that she had all the required documentation and then finding out she didn't. We requested something extra to be done for her after she spent over $800 flying out to the first port and was flatly refused - "You should read the contract and fine print." Would a cupcake and a little singing have been to difficult for them? Then on Half Moon Cay, the beach area had jagged rocks not covered by sand. Several people including myself tripped and scrapped my arms and knees on the rocks. After going back to the ship, I notified Guest Services and they stated I had to pay $2.19 for some band-aids. POOR SERVICE - CHEAP!

Average island with a dozen stores and very overpriced items.
Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Cruiseline Private Island)
Beach area is filled with dangerous rocks and eventually some people will start suing Carnival for the lack of safety.
Nassau, Bahamas
We arrived on Sunday so 60% of the stores were closed. Another poor planning by Carnival.

Amazing Cruise!!!
by A Traveler from New York City
Sailing date:
Sep 2010
Pros:
I loved Karaoke with Tabby!!! & Todd from Sam's Piano Bar!
Cons:
I didn't really enjoy Nassau, other than that I loved everything else!
The ship was amazing! I loved the atmosphere and everyone who worked on the ship made me feel very comfortable! My daughter enjoyed herself very much as well...she loved Pinnochio's Club, she already misses her friends she made there! I am already planning another trip for same time next year and I'm bringing a few more along with us. It truly was an amazing experience and I think I would want to do it every year if I am able!

I truly loved Casy, He was always pleasant and had a nice big smile for us. Our room always felt comfy and homey in the evening! If I do come on Carnival next year I do hope to have him again...What a pleasure!
Dining/Food
I loved the lobster tail! I loved the combination of food throughout and I tried escargo for the first time and loved it! Taste just like chicken!
Stateroom Quality
I loved the bed! Felt like home, and my balcony was heaven sent! The view well worth it and it was just right for the two of us! I miss it so much right now, I can't wait for the next experience. Carnival rocks!
Ship Staff Quality
It was amazing how everyone on staff had a smile on their faces! I don't think I had a bad experience with anyone on staff..was so nice to see smiling faces all over.
Entertainment & Activities
Loved Todd from Sam's Piano Bar.....and Tabby from Karaoke. She is so great and funny! She was one of the best Hostess' I know!!
Children's Programs
My daughter enjoyed herself! She tells me she can't wait to go back!

I wanted to hide and stay on this island!! I was amazed with the beach and how beautiful the water was!! I went snooba diving and that was incredible! Our instructor was so helpful and amazing! Talked us through it all and ensured us a good time! I can't wait to see it again!!
Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Cruiseline Private Island)
I don't know what to say! It was just as amazing as Grand Turk...the entertainment was wonderful and Margaritaville is a must see again!
Nassau, Bahamas
Honestly was not my favorite, It was too touristy. I felt uncomfortable with people watching us while our stuff lay on the beach and we lay in the water. I didn't even enjoy shopping here.

Great Cruise!
by Maria S. from New York
Sailing date:
Aug 2010
Pros:
Half Moon Cay---PARADISE!!
Cons:
The crazy lines and hogs at the Lido buffet...how much can a person eat????
The decor in the ship is a little strange. You have lounge named after the Phantom of the Opera to a disco called Frankensteins Lab. Cherubs all over and a ton of seating areas. The dining room is great as was our waiter, Anthony. We chose to do "your time dining" and asked to sit in his section each night and he was always very kind and gave us top notch service each night. He even aknowledged us by our first names. The buffet was always crowded and just a crazy area where people just loaded up their trays with everything. The sun deck was always a hassle to find a lounge chair because everybody was saving a slew of chairs which they tell you not to do but its not reinforced so you had to get there pretty early on the sea days to get a spot. The islands are beautiful--especially the private island--like the sign says "wish i could stay here forever"..

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Cruiseline Private Island)
The most beautiful island--powdery sand and the most beautiful ocean!!!
Nassau, Bahamas
It rained the whole day while we were there. We had booked a beach day getaway and cancelledit the day before because we where too sunburned and didnt want to spend another 4 hours on a beach but since it rained the whole time it worked out better. We did a historical tour which was nice and then some shopping at the marketplace afterwards.
Don't Miss:
They say Atlantis is the place to go but we found it too pricey and also we were warned about the taxi drivers taking you around in circles just to get you there and charging alot for the ride.

IT WAS A GREAT CRUISE!
by JT & ET from Tinton Falls, NJ
Sailing date:
Jun 2010
Pros:
WE WERE EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH THE ENTIRE CRUISE
Cons:
THERE WERE NO CONS
We were extremely pleased, and would highly recommend this CRUISE... We were trying to find a negative and couldn't find any, some may have felt we could have stayed in port a little longer, however, my husband and I were fine with it... We've cruised many times, however, this really was an AWESOME CRUISE... We were well taken care of... We would have to give it 5 STARS in every category... One suggestion: When requesting a Balcony stateroom, make sure that you inquire as to if there is any obstruction... This would have been our only downfall if we had not asked prior...
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
With a clear conscience this is a 5 STAR
Dining/Food
We never had anything we didn't like - 5 STAR
Stateroom Quality
Exceptionally clean - 5 STAR
Ship Staff Quality
Everyone was friendly, down to earth - 5 STAR
Entertainment & Activities
We just primarily relaxed, however, from child to adult, it seemed as though everyone enjoyed the Entertainment and Activities, because we enjoyed watching them...

mixed reviews from a first time cruiser
by Keith M. from brooklyn, NY
Sailing date:
Apr 2010
Pros:
had a great time with my family, and a select few of the staff were amazing!
Cons:
my first day, i found DIRTY UNDERWEAR in my room!!! (and thats not all)
first of all, let me say, overall, i had a great time, but, i think that had more to do with me and my family being together, and exploring new islands, and it had very little to do with the ship and its crew. my first impression was, walking into my room with my bags, opening all of the drawers to see the kind of room i had for my things, and i found ******A DIRTY PAIR OF WOMENS UNDERWEAR***** ... wow, are you kidding my, how do you miss something like that? i didnt get too upset at the time, things happen... stuff gets overlooked, and i understand.. what really upset me, is that it took 4 days for someone to call me, and there solution, was to credit me 14.00 $ i laughed. the 14$ was based on a percentage of my first days stay in the room... i dont know where they came up with this number... but either way, its funny! On a bright housekeeping note, they did a great job for the rest of my stay. my wife and daughter had a separate room (i snore) and the housekeeper, supapon (Sue) was amazing, my daughter spit up two nights in a row on the bed,and sue couldnt have been cooler about it, she hopped right out of bed and changed our sheets! thats not the only thing she did that was above and beyond her job description, but to be short, she was great! now, lets get to the casino....im gonna keep this very short they were awful, they messed up time and again, they would often "forget" to pay out people in roulette, im not going to get into every little thing they did wrong, but if i described everything, you would be disgusted!

the decor is over the top!!! there was everything from greek themes, to frankenstein.
Dining/Food

Stateroom Quality
