Good Cruise, But Could Be So Much Better by
Lynda from Rochester, NY, USA Sailing date: Mar 2007Pros: The beauty of it! Well I'll just quickly summarize it: only 2 restaraunts (buffet and dining) and needs more variety of food. Service in the dine in restaraunt is horribly slow and the same food they serve in the buffet for dinner, but more! The language translations is loud and not very convenient, it takes 5 minutes to translate 5 languages. Children and Teen Centers could be better, but impossible to find the teen center. Overall, Could be Better! Entertainment & ActivitiesActivities: Could have more.
Entertainment: Loved it. Needs more children's shows, though. 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

  Wonderful Way to Travel! by
Sheila from Ontario, Canada Sailing date: Mar 2007Pros: The entire ship was sparkling clean, great service, great food, too hard to pick just one great feature. Was not sure what to expect, as we had never been on a cruise before. I had not heard of Costa Cruises, but after talking to other people on the cruise who had travelled on other cruiselines before said that Costa was one of the best ships that they had been on and I would definately have to agree. Enjoyed every minute and will definately cruise again. Entertainment & ActivitiesActivities: We did not attend many of the activities, but there were many to choose from throughout the day.
Entertainment: We attended the shows every evening after dinner. Enjoyed all of them! 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

Costa is the way to go for European crui by
George from McKinney, TX Sailing date: Jun 2007Pros: Ship is beautiful and well appointed. Balcony staterooms are excellent! Oustanding value, service, and itinerary. Costa Mediterranea is a beautiful ship with excellent staterooms. Good, well-organized excursions. Excellent restaurant. Only complaints: embarkation process and buffet offerings need improvement. Entertainment & Activities
Entertainment: Shows were enjoyable, but arrive early for good seating! The view from many seats in the theater was not great.

Bari, ItalyBari is relaxing.
Bari is a nice place to walk around and view some beautiful churches and fortresses. No excursion required.
Don't Miss: There's a great little gelato place near the bus stop where the shuttle bus drops you off in town. Nice couple from Chicago own the place. Look for the American flags in front. Mykonos, GreeceOld Town Mykonos - no excursion required!
Mykonos is a great place to shop and to unwind after a long day on Santorini. Would have liked to spend more than a few hours here to really get to know the place.
Don't Miss: The PELICANS. Huge pinkish-white pelicans! They walk around Mykonos like they own the place. We even found one strolling through a dress shop. Santorini, GreeceSantorini is FANTASTIC - don't miss it!
OIA Village excursion was outstanding! Best of the cruise in my opinion. Time is left to shop in Fira, but with small shops and narrow streets it gets CROWDED!
Don't Miss: Oia Village. Katakolon (Olympia), GreeceOlympia is a bit overrated.
It is certainly worthwhile to visit Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympics, but excursions leave a little to be desired. The site is very crowded, tourguides are hard to hear, and time on your own to wander the grounds is very brief.

  Worst Experience! by
Paul from Palm Beach, Florida Sailing date: Mar 2007This cruise was 7 days of hell. We had a terrible smell (grease exhaust) in the cabin for the first 5 days and we finally were moved after several complaints. Our second cabin had black water coming out of the sink and shower on the last day of our cruise! The charge account process on the last day was a nightmare. We were over billed for the auto tipping. Tipping is not applied until 2am your final evening and problems are not discovered until 6am when you are trying to leave the ship. It took over an hour standing in line to have the mistake taken care of. Entertainment & ActivitiesActivities: The fitness area was very clean. Most of the days Bingo was played very late in the evening - 10pm.

Cozumel, MexicoCozumel Experience.
Cozumel is back after all the hurrican damage. The port looks fresh and much to see and do. New Mall right off the ship is tow levels and shaded frn the sun. We say a free local show with period costumes and dance. The port is very safe with local police everywhere for safty. The people are very friendly, but always trying to sell their goods. The beaches and water are some of the best!
Don't Miss: Shopping for local goods and the beaches and water are clean excellent for snorkling. Key West, FloridaKey West Experience.
Key West if a great port. It was a beautiful sunny day. There were other ships in port which made Old Town very busy. I always love my day in Key West.
Don't Miss: Take the Trolly Tour for a great taste of Key West. George Town, Grand CaymanGrand Caymon Experience.
The Island is beautiful. Get out and experience it. 7 mile beach and the water are wonderful. Shopping prices have risen over the years, but still fun to see the offerings. Very busy port year round.
Don't Miss: Take a tour or experience the beach/water trip. Roatan (Isla Roatan), Bay Islands, HondurasRoaton Experience.
The port is still under construction and first look is a little distrubing. We took a beach tour and were very pleased. Country is still developing for tourists, but the locals are frindly (at least on the tours). I do not recommend touring on your own). It may be safe, but I would not recommend it.

An amazing deal for the price. by
Steve from Royal Oak, MI Sailing date: Feb 2007Pros: The italian-style design. The boat was fairly new and gorgeous. It was kept exceptionally clean throughout the trip. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was great for a cruise ship. And the best part was the price. Great cruise for the money.. Entertainment & Activities

Catalina Island (Isla Catalina), Dominican RepublicVery nice beach.. Relaxing day.
Just a catered day at the beach. Very pleasant. Cruise ship staff were wonderful.
San Juan, Puerto RicoThe port was beautiful, the city was interesting and easily accessable, and the people were great.
Great port.. Cant wait to return someday.
Don't Miss: The old fort on the hill above the port. Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.Perfect.
Absolutely gorgeous place. Best and most beautiful place Ive ever been to on a cruise ship stop..
Don't Miss: A tour of the island. The scenery and the photo opportunities are the best anywhere. 2 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

Sherrie from Warminster, PA Sailing date: Jul 2007Pros: Friendly crew and staff. We have been on 2 previous cruises on another cruise line. Bari, ItalyBari was just OK.
We took a double-decker bus tour on our own. The town is nice, our guide was informative, but it was just ok.
Mykonos, GreeceMy favorite Port.
We got to Mykonos just in time to have a wonderful dinner at a beachfront restaurant and to watch the beautiful sunset. Then we walked the narrow alleyways and did some shopping. It was an incredible evening.
Don't Miss: The sunset. Santorini, Greece
Unbelievable views.
Don't Miss: Oia Village. Katakolon (Olympia), GreeceKatakalon/Olimpia.
Katakalon and Olimpia were awesome. It was amazing to be standing in the same place where the first Greek athletes trained and competed. Katakalon is a lovely village with shopping and cafes along the water.
Don't Miss: Olimpia. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

Cozumel, MexicoChankanab Park.
We visited the park, which caters to persons who are swimming with the dolphins. Otherwise, you are limited as to the use of the park's amenities.
Key West, FloridaFort Zachary Taylor.
We visited the local library and the librarian recommended Fort Zachary Taylor. We really enjoyed the beach and the fort.
George Town, Grand CaymanTurtle Farm and Seven Mile Beach.
The Turtle Farm is nice, but we couldn't find set prices. I think the prices are made up based on how much they think they can charge. Seven Mile Beach is beautiful, but the water is really deep. Be aware if you have kids. There is a playground at the beach which my daughter enjoyed.
Don't Miss: Seven Mile Beach and a ride on a public (not tourist) bus. Roatan (Isla Roatan), Bay Islands, HondurasMalaria.
I had read that malaria is a concern in Roatan Bay; therefore, I was reluctant to disembark. My husband and I took turns going in to town and looking around. The area is very economically depressed, but there were some bargains to be had in shell jewelry and t-shirts. However, panhandling is a problem.

Great would definately go on this ship a by
Michele from Pinckney, Michigan Sailing date: Mar 2006Pros: Cleanliness and beauty. This was the cleanest ship. The rooms were very large (we had an inside cabin and really expected to be on top of each other). The food and service was wonderful. Entertainment & ActivitiesActivities: There were not that many activities on this ship as our last cruise.

Mykonos, Greece
Santorini, GreeceVery nice port of call but too short of a stop.
