Fun for the whole extended family. by
Glenn from Yorktown Heights, NY Sailing date: Jul 2006Pros: The diversity of well organized activities. I brought my restless young teenager, my elderly in-laws and my lovely wife on this trip. Everyone enjoyed himself or herself thoroughly. This was mainly due to the very varied experiences we had on the ship. My son gravitated to the ship-sponsored young teen activities. He enjoyed the organized sports, the teen discos and the company of a variety of new friends. My in-laws had a more sedentary stay. Playing the slots, reading on the balcony, early morning walks, slot machine excitement and comfortable and familiar ballroom music. My wife sunbathed poolside and finally got to read the novels she had been trying to get to for a long time. I learned, purchased artwork, stayed up late to listen to a terrific contemporary guitar player in the pub, and did a little of all the fore mentioned activities. We all partook of some optional shore excursions and had a good time there. It made us all want to do it again... Real soon. Entertainment & Activities

  Incredible cruise! by
Connie H from Winston-Salem, NC Sailing date: Dec 2008Pros: Everything was fabulous! The demeanor of the crew was amazing. Cons: Waiting for elevators Mariner of the Sea is an incredible ship, with the best amenities, crew, food, etc. that one could imagine. We were thoroughly pleased with our accommodations, entertainment (top notch, may I add), food (again, top notch in the dining room), variety of activities on board - everything! We have traveled via other lines, but are definitely hooked on this cruise line. Orbitz was a great help in making this trip a reallity - they even gave us an upgrade in accommodations without our asking. Ship QualityCouldn't be better!!!!!!!!!! Dining/FoodThe Dining Room food was truly a Bon Appetit occasion. The other food areas were just nothing to rave about, but nothing to complain about. Stateroom QualityVery nice accommodations. Ship Staff QualityThe BEST! The ship's captain was very approachable, had a good sense of humor, and good command of the ship because you could tell by the attitude of the crew from the lowest to the top that they truly enjoyed their jobs. Entertainment & ActivitiesAbsolutely the BEST! The crew entertainers will soon be on Broadway - they were that good! Children's ProgramsFrom what I observed, and I made it a point to observe as we are planning to take our granddaughter on a cruise, the children were well cared for and happy with the activities they had. There were NO unhappy children anywhere; everyone always had a smile from ear to ear.

  "Movin' on the Mariner by
Cleo Y from Sacramento, ca Sailing date: Sep 2009Pros: The entire ship, crew, food, balcony room, etc. Cons: The last night's entertainment in the Savoy Fantastic. I've been on a lot of cruises but this ship is at the top of the list. There is something for everyone, whether the weather is good or bad. Ship QualityJust because this is a large ship with over 3,000 passengers, the only time there was a wait was at the elevators and I don't think this can be improved. The ship was clean and items were picked up constantly. Dining/FoodAbsolutely no complaints. Food in the Windjammer, Rhapsody in Blue, and Top Hats was always hot if it was supposed to be hot, cold if it was supposed to be cold, food was always fresh. We loved the 6 pm dining time. Stateroom QualityWe rarely saw our cabin steward, but the room was always cleaned up no matter when we came back to our room. First time I've ever had a balcony room, which was fantastic but I feel if one has a "no smoking" room, the balcony should also be "no smoking". I can't handle smoke at all, so we couldn't sit in the balcony when our neighbors were in. Ship Staff QualityWhen I closed the safe after placing things in there, I couldn't reopen the door and had to have it opened. Very soon someone with a smile on his face, opened it for us and said I had placed an item too close to the door, so it wouldn't let me openit. He fixed it ASAP. One time we left both keys in the room and someone had to let us in. He was there in a few minutes with a smile on his face. Entertainment & ActivitiesSomething for everybody anytime, anywhere. How could anyone complain? 10 out of 11 people found this review helpful.

I had a great time by
Vu C from Berkeley, CA Sailing date: Oct 2009Pros: food, room service, activities, swimming pool Cons: cabo excursion This ship was the best I've ever been on. I've been on Princess and Carnival and I must say that Royal Carribean is the best. Most ships have the standard service and amenity to pass time but the Mariner of the Seas takes it to the next level. There is almost always something to do every hour (such as 70s party, foosball tournament, pool party, etc..). Don't listen to the bad reviews they are all bogus. In regards to cleanliness, my room was cleaned twice a day by the maid. She was even nice enough to leave towels folded into animal shapes on the bed. Ship Quality

A wonderful cruise, beautiful ship! by
A Traveler from Los Angeles, CA Sailing date: Aug 2009Pros: All activities on board and the excellent service Cons: The breakfast buffet We just had the opportunity to take a cruise for the second time. We were taking our son for his High School graduation trip and wanted for him to have an incredible time. This trip ended up meeting all of our expectations and he came back with many wonderful memories that will last a life time. The ship "Mariner of the Seas" is an impressive floating hotel, It reminded of of Las Vegas in many ways. the accommodations were great, the attention to details were fantastic Ship Quality

Royal Caribbean Mariner of the Seas by
Jeb J from Houston, TX Sailing date: Apr 2009Pros: Great Ship, Lots of activities available to guests Cons: Service felt rushed, food is declining except in optional special restaurants Great ship, gorgeous interior, well kept up, lots of activities for the guests. However, it felt very crowded much of the time. Bars were full, shopping areas were full, Service by cabin attendants was slow. The cabin attendants were over worked or over extended. The rooms were left untouched if your schedule and their schedule conflicted. The food service is declining as the cruise line cuts costs. The speciality restaurants were excellent. However, the day to day main fare in the dining room and Wind Jammer Lounge was nothing to brag about. Plenty of food was available but the quality is going down hill. Ship Quality

Plenty of activities- your cruise is wha by
Maureen from Indianapolis, IN Sailing date: Sep 2007Pros: It is so large, you never really feel crowded or wait very long for anything. Being our first cruise, we had very high expectations and Mariner delivered. There was plenty to do and see and staff was fantastic. You can participate in group activities or virtually be alone in a quiet corner of a lounge at any given time. The crowd was a little "grayer" than I expected, but they still had many things aimed at pleasing a younger audience. Dining/FoodBuffet was OK but formal dining was excellent.
Stateroom QualityHaving a promenade view made the room appear larger.

Cococay (Cruiseline Private Island)Beautiful tiny island.
It was just a very relaxing day in the sand and because it's owned by RC, there are no beggars bothering you on the beach.
Don't Miss: The hammocks. Philipsburg, St. MaartenBeautiful.
Go to the main street on French side for best shops and better food, too. The beach is great but a lot of people trying to sell crap and braid your hair. Many beaches are topless so if nudity offends you, don't go (it's really no big deal though).
Don't Miss: Beaches walk up beach bar/restaurant. 6 out of 7 people found this review helpful.

  Thank you sweet Jesus by
Angel M from Carson, Ca Sailing date: Oct 2009Pros: I can't just choose one. Everything was exceptional Cons: That i had to leave and go back to my children All i got to say was this the best vacation I had for over 10 years. My wife and I really needed a vacation and this crusie was the answer to our prayers. We can't describe how thankful we were to take a week off from our annoying and spoiled brats that we have to deal with everyday. Don't even get me started on our coworkers or bosses. Yak yak yakity yak. Bored. So the food, entertainment, and especially the idea that people serve us made this the perfect trip. Thank you so much :) Ship QualityGreat googly moogly this ship was huge. Dining/FoodMy tastebuds were blessed with every inch of the food that i ate from your fine restaurants. Stateroom QualityI felt like a king. King of the castle. King of the Castle Ship Staff QualityEveryone was so friendly. It felt like i was in one of those old cheap black and white tv shows like Leave it to Beaver. Awww great memories. Entertainment & ActivitiesThis was more entertaining than watching my son trying to be a magician and handcuffing himself with his hands behind his back. Non stop laughs right there. Excellent food and service cruise. by
Jesse P from La Verne Ca. Sailing date: Jul 2009Pros: The food, music Cons: Underage drinking, underage gambling Very clean ship with excellent food and room service. Great music for 7 day cruise BUT wrong time to travel to Mexico with 16 years olds drinking and running around the ship I would go on another cruise when the students are in school. The photo service is way way over price. But overall it was a nice 7 day cruise. Ship Quality
