Cruising on Carnival Glory
by Mary H. from Cincinnati, OH
Sailing date:
Dec 2009
Pros:
The friendliness of the staff and crew.
Cons:
Our cruise wasn't long enough.
The ship was enormous but very well kept and clean. This was our first cruise so we were in awe of the beauty and stature of this gigantic floating city. The ship was definitely a city within itself as there was a general store, beauty parlor/barber shop, spa, gym, lounges, restaurants, casino, clothing store, library, photo lab, swimming pools with slides, and even a lounge for only teenagers, and an area just for the little ones. Everything was provided for you.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Carnival Glory was very clean and the decor was spectacular. Everything on the ship seemed to shine and sparkle. The public restrooms were clean and tidy. There was plenty of seating in the public areas as well as the outdoor area.
Dining/Food
The food was excellent. Many varieties to choose from and very delicious. Dining times were your choice, either 6pm or 8pm. If you chose not to eat in the formal dining room, you could elect to eat from the buffet. There was a 24-hour pizzeria, a fish and chips, a deli that served hot and cold sandwiches, a grill that served hamburgers, hot dogs and French fries and an oriental take-out. A lot of variety. During the cruise, there was a chocolate buffet where everything served was chocolate. One night, in addition to the food options, there was a Mexican buffet by the pool. You could also order from room service as well. There was something to eat 24 hours a day.
Stateroom Quality
Staterooms were clean and spacious. Location was our choice but there were many different options depending on where you wanted to stay. Easy access to elevators and stairs. The decor was top-notch.
Ship Staff Quality
The ship's staff were very personable and attentive. They always exhibited a smile on their face. Requests were handled immediately. I was impressed with our waiter in the main dining room. He would open your napkin for you and place it on your lap. Our waiter remembered that I liked a cup of decaf coffee before my meal and he was always there waiting to pour it as I took my seat.
Entertainment & Activities
The entertainment was phenominal. Each night there was a Las Vegas type show in the main auditorium (Amber Palace). Shows ranged from singing and dancing, to an illutionist, to a ventriloquist to a comedy show. Not only were there performers in the main auditiorium but there were also performers performing in the main lobby or in the lounges. We could sit and listen to live jazz, hip hop, reggae, latin, big band, disco, romantic music and much, much more. The possibilites were endless. You had a variety of performers as well as a variety of times and locations for each event.

St. Thomas was very beautiful and scenic. I had a great time in St. Thomas went snorkeling and saw some great sea life. Then took a ride up the Sky Ride to paradise point and enjoyed the view.
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
St. Maarten is extremely beautiful. Had a wonderful time in St. Maarten. Went shopping in the morning in the downtown area. Then in the afternoon went scuba diving and saw many sea creatures and sunken sub.

My 9 and 6 yr olds loved Camp Carnival. They spent more time there than at the swimming pools.

Wish we had more time to explore. Only had about 4.5 hrs at port. Atlantis is a neat place.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.
Weather was bad, excursions were cancelled. Not a lot to do.
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
Hurricane Omar caused schd change. Went to Grand Turk instead. Grand Turk was beautiful. If you need a place to just hang out and relax, Margaritaville has a swimming pool. It was nice to get some cold drinks and let the kids swim to kill a little time before going back on board the ship.

Great Cruise
by April R from Bronx, NY
Sailing date:
Jan 2010
Pros:
The ships activities. Something was always going on.
Cons:
Felt like the ship needed a bit of a face lift. Also, the pool area was way over crowded and it was hard to fit a lounge chair.
At first I thought it was alittle smaller than my last cruise ship but overall i thought it was still nice. Friendly staff always willing to show you or point you in the right direction.

No better experience
by A Traveler from Phoenix, AZ
Sailing date:

Pros:
Overall experience - cruise, pampering, tours
Cons:
Process of getting off ship with 3000 other people
This was our first cruise experience... it was unsurpassed in quality and fun... we are already planning our next one... think of an all-inclusive hotel that moves you from place to place so that you can take in many different wonderful experiences on your vacation... just incredible!
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
It was incredible to see how beautifully done the ship was... exceptionally clean and well taken care of... richly appointed with art and decoration... a floating 5-star hotel!
Dining/Food
If you couldn't find something that you wanted to eat, you weren't trying --- or didn't ask! What people say about the food being wonderful on a cruise is completely correct!
Stateroom Quality
Our private balcony suite was the BEST!!!!
Ship Staff Quality
Everyone worked VERY HARD to make sure that there was nothing that could be better...
Entertainment & Activities
Lots of fun activities and plenty of places to go to "just chill"...

Outstanding service, great cruise!
by David T. from Bartow, FL
Sailing date:
Apr 2012
Pros:
The very friendly and helpful staff.
Cons:
Debarkation, it took a long time to get off the ship.
Very nice, big, and very clean.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
There is always someone cleaning the ship in many areas throughout the day.
Dining/Food
The main dinning was always great, our Headwaiter Sedrick was phenomenal! Always made us smile, and very impressed how they treat you! The other meals were very good too, we had an opportunity to visit most of the others and we have nothing to complain about the food.
Stateroom Quality
We had an interior room, next time it will be a balcony, but we liked our room and the service. It seemed like everytime we left the room, we came back and it had been cleaned and serviced!
Ship Staff Quality
Can not say enough about how impressed we were with the staff. From the cruise director Trevor down to the guys cleanning the deck all the time. Everyone said hello when we walked by and asked how we were doing. Very friendly staff, Carnival does a great job of finding nice people to work on the ship!
Entertainment & Activities
We enjoyed every show we went to, and we went to several shows. This was our first cruise, so we can't compare it to others, but we loved them. Great comedians, outstanding dancing, and many other funny shows!

The Mayan temples were fun and exciting to visit. It was great to take a city tour and learn more about the culture. I did not go on the cave excursion, but I heard that was fantastic.
Don't Miss:
Book an excursion, any excursion to see the country. The area for shopping at the port is small.
Cozumel, Mexico
If you are from the west coast there isn't really anything original to buy. There are great shore excursions available. However, the beaches are great as well if you want to catch some sun. You will need to pay for a taxi to get to a nice beach.
George Town, Grand Cayman
I enjoyed swimming with the turtles and fish at the turtle farm. George Town is a busy little city with lots of samples of rum cakes to taste.
Roatan (Isla Roatan), Bay Islands, Honduras
There are a lot of great excursions to wander off to. The atmosphere of the port is perfect. The ship offers a magical beach chair ticket, but there is no need to buy it because the beach is close and easy to walk to.
Don't Miss:
It's all great!
