The food was good, wait staff was great. Would like to have had early seating but it was not a real problem.

Outstanding service, great cruise!
by David T. from Bartow, FL
Sailing date:
Apr 2012
Pros:
The very friendly and helpful staff.
Cons:
Debarkation, it took a long time to get off the ship.
Very nice, big, and very clean.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
There is always someone cleaning the ship in many areas throughout the day.
Dining/Food
The main dinning was always great, our Headwaiter Sedrick was phenomenal! Always made us smile, and very impressed how they treat you! The other meals were very good too, we had an opportunity to visit most of the others and we have nothing to complain about the food.
Stateroom Quality
We had an interior room, next time it will be a balcony, but we liked our room and the service. It seemed like everytime we left the room, we came back and it had been cleaned and serviced!
Ship Staff Quality
Can not say enough about how impressed we were with the staff. From the cruise director Trevor down to the guys cleanning the deck all the time. Everyone said hello when we walked by and asked how we were doing. Very friendly staff, Carnival does a great job of finding nice people to work on the ship!
Entertainment & Activities
We enjoyed every show we went to, and we went to several shows. This was our first cruise, so we can't compare it to others, but we loved them. Great comedians, outstanding dancing, and many other funny shows!

The Mayan temples were fun and exciting to visit. It was great to take a city tour and learn more about the culture. I did not go on the cave excursion, but I heard that was fantastic.
Don't Miss:
Book an excursion, any excursion to see the country. The area for shopping at the port is small.
Cozumel, Mexico
If you are from the west coast there isn't really anything original to buy. There are great shore excursions available. However, the beaches are great as well if you want to catch some sun. You will need to pay for a taxi to get to a nice beach.
George Town, Grand Cayman
I enjoyed swimming with the turtles and fish at the turtle farm. George Town is a busy little city with lots of samples of rum cakes to taste.
Roatan (Isla Roatan), Bay Islands, Honduras
There are a lot of great excursions to wander off to. The atmosphere of the port is perfect. The ship offers a magical beach chair ticket, but there is no need to buy it because the beach is close and easy to walk to.
Don't Miss:
It's all great!

Great Cruise
by Erica W from Memphis, TN
Sailing date:
Nov 2010
Pros:
Customer Service - Everyone was friendly and helpful
Cons:
Crowds and Lines
This was my first time on Carnival after cruising with Norwegian. I liked both cruise lines but feel they are for different "sorts" of cruisers. If you like a festive, party, and very social atmosphere with lots of children - select Carnival. The staterooms were smaller than I was accustomed to; however, they were clean and our steward was EXCELLENT!!!! All Carnival staff were courteous and helpful and always friendly. Customer service was A+. The food ranged from good to mediocre but nothing was bad or inedible. The ports of call were fine but I don't feel there was enough time in San Juan or Grand Turk. All in all . . this was a good cruise.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Ship was clean and public areas were nice;however, the layout of the ship was extremely confusing.
Dining/Food
Buffets and regular fare were pretty good or above my expectations. However, the meal at the steakhouse for which there is an extra charge was just "OK."
Stateroom Quality
Stateroom size was on the small size; but beds were more comfortable than expected.
Ship Staff Quality
Everyone was friendly and our steward was the BEST!!!
Entertainment & Activities
The onboard entertainment was just "so-so." Most of the movies catered to children--some balance would have been preferable for those who do not have children.

I think unless you take a shore excursion, this may be a little boring. The port is full of the usual tourist shops you will see in other ports.

Don't Miss:

This was the first cruise for my husband and myself. We were sooo impressed with the service, food and entertainment. There were many activities on board. I especially enjoyed the spa. We meet other nice couples, as well. We would definitely book another cruise with Carnival.

Cons:

This was my first cruise and found everything to be wonderful. Great entertainment, food and service. Hind sight being 20/20 for a first cruise I would have booked the 4 day cruise and skipped St. Johns.

Took the wildlife whale watching boat tour into Halifax Harbor. Observed whale, small dolphins and very large sun fish. Although an enjoyable activity, tour was overprriced.
Saint John, New Brunswick
St Johns is best seen by following the tourist map provided by hospitality when exiting ship. Consider renting taxi hourly for Bay of Fundy visit. Tour cost is extremely high and sells out quickly

I loved this cruise
by Christina R from Matamoras PA
Sailing date:
Jul 2010
Pros:
St. John and Halifax are awesome. Beautiful scenery. Warm , friendly people.
Cons:
I would have liked a few more hours in each port.
Great ship! I never felt crowded. I never waited in rediculously long lines for anything. The staff was very friendly especially towards my children. The stateroom seemed spacious enough even though I was traveling with two son's and all the treasures they picked up along the way. The room always seemed clean and fresh whenever we returned to it.

This is my second cruise. My first cruise was with a competitor. After cruising with the competitor I swore I would never cruise again. This ship seemed much more roomier. Very spread out. No great areas of congestion. Now I look forward to cruising again.

Take a tour of the old battle ship there. It is only $3.00 but a great surprise. I only went in because of my son's interest but even I liked it.
Don't Miss:
Murphys landing. Great Food!!!
Saint John, New Brunswick
Fort Howe was amazing. It looks like a small little box on a hill but, once we got out of the car to explore a facinating North American Native approached us and gave us an amazing lesson in history, folklaw, tradition, and lives of the Native Americans. My six year old has not stop talking about it.
