Decent but not fantastic.
by A Traveler from Tampa, FL
Sailing date:
Aug 2009
The comedian the first 2 nights was just awful. Also, the bar service and general food service (lunch and breakfast) was mediocre at best. Our assigned waiter and cabin steward however were very good.

Lots of Fun but Too Short!
by Arshad R. from Newport Beach, CA
Sailing date:
Feb 2013
Pros:
All of the accommodations on the cruise (comedy shows, broadway, mini golf, gym, DJ, karaoke, trivia shows, etc.
Cons:
Too short and not enough time in Mexico. It only took a few hours to get to Mexico but it took almost 2 days to get back!
I loved all of the accommodations the ship provided (comedy and broadway shows, mini golf, gym, DJ, karaoke, trivia shows and plenty of food to name a few). However, the pool area was much smaller than I expected and the time spent in Mexico was too short! It took just a few hours to get to Mexico but we spent almost two days on the ship on the way back! Don't get me wrong, the ship is a lot of fun, but to me it's equally important to truly see the locations.

Ship Quality
Overall it was great. The only cons I'd mention is how small the pool was and the hallway carpets and walls were a bit tacky.
Dining/Food
I personally was satisfied by the abundance and variety of food. Some things were too greasy for me but I'm sure others would love that.
Stateroom Quality
I was very happy with an ocean view. The only problem I saw was how crusty and dirty the edges of the window were, but that's a small price to pay.
Ship Staff Quality
Everyone was extremely kind and helpful.
Entertainment & Activities
The thing I appreciated on this cruise was not just that there were sooo many different activities and forms of entertainment available, but that many of the activities consisted of things I would never think of doing back home but that I thoroughly enjoyed!

Great Starter Cruise
by Rowena S from Las Vegas, NV
Sailing date:
Jan 2012
Pros:
Great Amenities, Comedy shows
Cons:
Small ship and a lot of rocking and swaying during the cruise
I was impressed. I have sailed before on a larger ship and knew right away this was a smaller ship, so I was a little bummed out at first. This was my husbands first cruise and he enjoyed it. Overall we had fun together and made the best of whatever the ship had to offer. I was pleasantly surprised!!

I had an oceanview (window) and it was nice. I didn't like the location, but now I know for future bookings that if you get a little sea sick, never get the back of the boat. We heard the engine and felt a lot of swaying from the boat.

Panama Canal cruise was incredible
by Janice asher from Seattle, WA, United States
Sailing date:
Dec 2011
Pros:
Although apprehensive at first, we both enjoyed the length (14 days) of this cruise. We made more friends, including crew members, and really relaxed.
Cons:
Getting off in Punterenas was a disappointment because of the timing in actually being able to get off.
One item on my bucket list was to go through the Panama Canal. Cruising through on the Inspiration was delightful. 14 days gave us time to meet and enjoy many people, crew and staff included. We had the royal treatment each day. All crew were pleasant and willing to assist in whatever way possible. My slightly hyperactive husband was apprehensive about being on the ship for so long. However we both found it a good length of time to relax and enjoy and not feel rushed.

I wish I had the crew of the Inspiration to come dust, polish and clean my house. as well as cleaning the buffet lines, the coffee and ice cream lines, the trays and dishes, there was always someone washing windows, cleaning the decks, polishing the banister railings, or dusting. Bathrooms, both public and personal (in cabin), were spotless.
Dining/Food
Elegant dining room service. Meat cooked to specifications, salads fresh, everything tasty. Buffet lines always had plenty of choices and food always delicious. I especially loved the stir fry area.
Stateroom Quality
Our cabin workers were tireless and our room showed it. Clean and neat rooms. Polite workers.
Ship Staff Quality
14 days gave us a chance to meet and enjoy several staff members. The head waiter/dining room manager in the Mardi Gras, was a tireless worker. We saw him all day all over the ship's buffets and dining room. Aniko and Sarah in food area, James in food area, Maria, a hotel stewardess were especially friendly and helpful. We never saw a grumpy staff member.
Entertainment & Activities
The violinist and the last night singer were exceptional.

Excursion was fun. I visited Cozumel 4 or 5 years ago, and the shopping center was not there then. I did not enjoy walking around there being hasseled to buy stuff and come in their shops.

Great Time!
by Nicole W from United States
Sailing date:
Aug 2012
Pros:
The food was delicious & the staff was friendly and fun
Cons:
small rooms and expensive drinks ($10 each!)
I had a blast on this mini vacation. The Carnival crew was wonderful (super friendly and fun). The food was delicious and they let you have as much as you wanted (one person in our group ate 6 lobsters one night). The only complaints I have are pretty typical for all cruises (small rooms and very expensive alcoholic beverages).

I love the dance routines at dinner!
Entertainment & Activities
More adult-only shows like the comedy would be great. I like non-family friendly fun :)

Decent but not great
by Carl B. from LV, NV
Sailing date:
Jul 2012
Pros:
Dinner and shows
Cons:
Breakfast, Ensenada and onboard activities
The ship is "typical" Carnival
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Rooms are small, but kept clean. I didn't like the fact that they were working on the ship in various areas to repaint/repair -- this should be done while in port.
Dining/Food
Dinner was the best. The rest of the food was the same day after day and not very good.
Stateroom Quality
For Carnival, it was typical. For 4 people, the room was too small. If you're traveling wih kids or more than 2 adults, get ajoining rooms if possible -- or two rooms.
Ship Staff Quality
The staff was friendly.
Entertainment & Activities
2 shows that were good, the rest of the activities were so-so.
Children's Programs
The kids just didn't dig Camp Carnival this time. Not sure why, but they rarely had an interest in going there.

Enjoyable weekend
by Michael K from Phoenix, az

Pros:
Tour guide in Ensenada
Cons:
Sewage smell in the middle of the ship
The Inspriation looked and smelled out dated. The crew was great, but the facilities themselves where just ok.

Ensenada 2 Day Cruise
by A Traveler from LA
Sailing date:
Dec 2011
Pros:
Excursion was a lot of fun!
Cons:
Not as much activities as I thought
The overall experience was very fun as I had hoped. The buffet is very welcoming because you can eat at anytime. The timed dining wasn't as bad as we were seated with two gentlemen who were very funny and enjoyable to talk with. The wine tasting tour was the best part. The wines were very good and our tour guide made it better by providing snacks to eat along with the wine tasting.
