Mediocre at best
by Michelle Becerra from Southern CA
Sailing date:
May 2012
Pros:
the pillows
Cons:
the food
The ship decor was very out dated and worn. Our room was good but the counter in the bathroom was dirty. The entertainment was horrible and it seemed designed to humiliate (the gameshows, contests, etc.). We enjoyed the karaoke.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Ship was small, dark, weird decor.
Dining/Food
The food was terrible. Tasteless and bland. Dry and over cooked. Not fresh ingredients. The dinners were a tad better but the lunches and breakfast was just horrible.
Stateroom Quality
the bed and pillows were nice.
Ship Staff Quality
The staff looked either totally exhausted or absolutely without personality. Something in our room was dirty and had to be removed and the steward asked if he could bring a clean one later. When later came, he asked if I still needed it or could we do without it.
Entertainment & Activities
The disco lesson was ok. We were bored as there was nothing of quality to do.

Cons:
nothing to do most of the time on ship, geared to 20 to 30 year olds
A dark interior in the atruim so made it look smaller then it is. Crowded feeling during at sea days. Dining rooms not open at more convient times. Geared to the 20 to 30 year old crowd.

carnival inspiration
by A Traveler from Long island, NY
Sailing date:

Pros:
the ports we visited.
Cons:
The ship. Smoking was allowed in cabins, so i was inhaling second hand smoking the entire time, and the ship had no way to fix it as it was allowed in cabins, which made no sense!!!!!! Pool was smaller than my home back yard poo. Not child friendly. My 6 year old daughter disliked the camp.
The ship was ablsolutely disguesting. smoke smelled everywhere, and was allowed in the cabins EVERYWHERE, so you couldn't get away from it anywhere. Pool was small and deep. Not child friendly!!!. My 6 year old daughter went to child camp for 2 hours, hated it, came back crying and never wanted to go back. Food was average. Overall, this ship was my first and worst vacation experience and i would not recommend it to anyone!!!!!

worst cruise i have been on
by Joelle G. from Orlando, Fl
Sailing date:
Dec 2010
Pros:
food was good
Cons:
customer service, rooms, over all attitude of crew
Our cruise was delayed an entire day (and that wasn't even the bad part of it). When we got there we had a room with a bunk bed. it took 8 calls and 10 hours until anyone helped me. I waited in line at guest services for 45 minutes. When i got up there the lady closed the gate and said "sorry closed now". I asked if there was anything she could do for those of us at the front of line when the muster station was over - and she said no and shut the door in my face. I have been on 16 cruises in the past 10 years (11 with royal caribbean, 1 with norweigan and 4 with carnival). I will never take a carnival cruise again. my boyfriend has a carnival credit card and is canceling it because of how horrible our cruise was. We ate lunch in the dining room and my plate sat there finished for 20 minutes. 12 times a server (others and mine) passed by and left it there, never offered me coffee or dessert. I also had a server at the champagne lounge offer our group shots for $3.25 and then we all took them and when he brought our bill 15 minutes later - we had been charged $5.50 per shot. I asked him why that was since he told us $3.25 and he said "oh i was wrong - that was last cruise" The only explanation i have for this disappointment is that they have begun making everyone pre-pay their gratutities and the crew knows they are getting tipped and make no further effort to serve the guests. My dining room waiter was the only person who made an effort (so we tipped him an extra $10).

First and Last cruise
by Chris S. from Tulsa, Ok
Sailing date:
Dec 2010
Pros:
Cozumel was awesome
Cons:
Food onboard was terrible, ship was delayed a day, no refunds for 2 weeks
The cruise that my wife and I booked was supposed to leave from Tsmpa @ 4:00p.m. on the 13th of December; high seas prevented the boat from gettting under a bridge to get to port. This is completetly understandable as obviously the weather can't be controlled. My wife and I drove from Oklahoma to Tampa and budgeted for a 2 night hotel stay then on the boat monday. Carnival would'nt reimburse for the additional hotel stay and would'nt apply credit to this cruise (other than a measley 15$ per person for meal credit). Instead the credit would be pro-rated and applied to a future cruise with carnival plus 20% off. What are we supposed to do with that? Food was fast food quality even the one formal we attened was baked shrimp and lobster tail, but was not "to die for." We are very displeased and would'nt recommend to anyone! STAY AWAY!!

Horrible cruise!
by Denese a. from Las Vegas, nv
Sailing date:
Jul 2010
Pros:
Kids camp!
Cons:
Not enough activities, only have 1 pool, lines for everything!
There's no refrigerator in the cabin, immigration took a long time to evaluate non-citizen! Long lines to get off and on ship at all ports and even at time of embarkment and disembarkment. One pool for whole ship! Announcements only in hall and not heard in cabins! Waiters weren't very attentive and food not very good!

Never again on Carnival
by A Traveler from Cape Coral, FL
Sailing date:
Dec 2009
Pros:
Spending time with family
Cons:
Service of the crew
This was our first cruise and our last on Carnival. Carnival does not care one bit about their passengers. The ship was not in when we arrived at noon due to foggy conditions. Now they have no control over the weather but they do have control over how their passengers are treated. When we checked in we were told to leave the terminal and not come back for 6 hours. No accomendation were offered at that time. It was not until 4 pm when we were all milling about in front of the terminal and the news crews were shooting video of angry passengers that they offered to take us over to the other terminal to sit down in "comfy" chairs and offered food; (water & granola bar). We finally started boarding the ship at 7pm. When my son & his wife tried to board and get their room key they handed her someone else's key. She asked for her key she found out hers was "missing". "Oh no we didn't give yours away". They printed another and tried to board, now my son's would not work. They husseled them on the ship and said they needed to go to guest services. So our first day on the Carnival Inspiration did not start until after 8pm. By then we are hungry (though I don't know why after our meal of water & granola bars), tired and ready to start our cruise. We've missed our dinner seating, they were packing up the buffet, when we asked crew members where we can eat, no one could give us an answer.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Ship was smaller than expected from pictures. Generally clean and inviting. Son & daughter-in-laws room smelled of cigarettes.
Dining/Food
Food was nothing to rave about. We were seated in the Madi Gas room with George the Greek. I read all the blogs before we left and everyone raved about him. He graced us with his presence a couple times. I did not see the hype. If you want pizza you'd better like pepperoni. Even though they show other flavors when you ask for them you're told only pepperoni. If you want something to eat after 11 the only thing available is pizza(pepperoni) or room service.
Stateroom Quality
Our room steward was the only crew member that we can say went above & beyond. Our room was always tidy & clean and he was friendly and smiling.
Ship Staff Quality
Food service and room staff was for the most part were friendly and helpful. Guest services and support staff at the terminal were rude and had no desire to help.
Entertainment & Activities
Comic was great, very funny. Casino was fun. We participated in the poker run. It was lame. We took first place and got a cheesy medal. They couldn't even give us a free drink.
