super cruise and a wonderful experience
by Paul D from Pearl, ms
Sailing date:
Feb 2012
Pros:
all of the staff were very nice and helpful, great food , especially the head waiter ... Henry in the Renior room at dinner... a good man with a great personality
Cons:
disembarkment was chaos.... lost luggage... no reason to keep bag checks .... nobody was checking... anybody could take anybodys bag and it was not checked. my bag was lost for 4 days. i was told i lost my bag, even though it was taken by the crew before we got off the ship.
great ship. very clean , even though it was my first. will not be my last... hope to be back soon. good food and nice staff. will remember next trip to take off my own luggage next time. would like to go again before conquest goes into drydock in 2013.

Sailing date:

It would be nice if there were more options for younger children. My youngest son was one month shy of being old enough for the kids club. He does well in play group settings, but they would not accomdate and let him attend. He could go for paid babysitting services, but the hours were ridiculously limited & at weird times of the night and day.

Great cruise and ship
by William K. from Mandeville, LA
Sailing date:

Pros:
Too many things to list
Cons:
Speech at the drill was abit long
Wonderful curise, ship, and side trips
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
No problems
Dining/Food
Couldn't be better
Stateroom Quality
Staterooms could be larger, bur not a problem
Ship Staff Quality
The best, pleasent and efficient. I had 1 question they could not answer. All the bars, etc. had names of French artists that I recognized, except Alfred's bar. No one knew which Alfred he was.(Sisley?)
Entertainment & Activities
Many good things, but I missed the horse races and betting on the wooden horses

I'd say Just Okay
by Emily G from Nebrasja
Sailing date:
Dec 2011
Pros:
There is always a dining option any time of day. Liked the adult only pool.
Cons:
Too much SALES... constantly pushing you to buy extras on board
Overall it was just average. The entertainment was low quality and i felt like it was lacking in "smaller" activities like contests, etc. You could not enjoy a simple drink on deck without being asked every 90 seconds if you wanted to buy another one. The embark/disembark process was very easy and efficient and the food was pretty good and available at all hours of the day. Enjoyed the adults only pool that is covered in glass during bad weather. A bit longer wait for my-time dining than I have experienced elsewhere.

attention needed
by A Traveler from New Orleans, La
Sailing date:
Dec 2011
Pros:
stateroom and dining staff were great
Cons:
deck activities were lacking; some food selections (dining room and lido) were cold
having cruised on the conquest before, I expected more than what was provided. previous cruises on other carnival ships were great
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
cleanup inside lido dining was rather slow
Dining/Food
some food selections were cold (soups were barely warm)
Stateroom Quality
stateroom was impeccable, however, noise above our room hindered sleep several nights (exercise care in location of room, seemed we had a room below lido restaurant)
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activities
news not shown on seaside theater; movie selection on seaside theater not appealing; previous cruise activities held on deck are now held inside in lobby area which limits participants

Touristy Cruise
by Luisa E from Houston, TX
Sailing date:
Oct 2011
Pros:
Visitng the Ports
Cons:
Constant selling of jewelry and other services by Carnival
Ship was bigger than the Ecstasy but that meant more people. The Lido deck was taller, but the actual space for recreation was not very efficient. There were not many more bars or restaurants considering that it held three times more people.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
The ship was under constant repairs while we were on board. They had pluming problems and were painting.
Dining/Food
The main dining room food was sometimes brought to the table cold or at room temprature.
Stateroom Quality
The stateroom was always kept clean and pretty with all the items we needed available.
Ship Staff Quality
All the staff was very friendly and courteous. Plus they all worked very hard to make our cruise pleasant.
Entertainment & Activities
The shows and comedians were pretty good. The activities were the same old games and were kind of boring.

Great cruise after initial room snag
by Derek L. from Dallas, TX
Sailing date:
Oct 2011
Pros:
Atmosphere, service, entertainment
Cons:
First room was too shaky/loud
This was our first cruise. Overall had a great time, enjoyed the service, food and atmosphere.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Mostly great, save for the last day when disembarking the ship could have run smoother.
Dining/Food
Loved our wait staff and food in dinner dining room; sat with them every night and enjoyed the "showtime" dancing/singing each evening. The buffet-style breakfast/lunch was good but not comparable to the excellent dinner (waiter-served) food. Occasionally had waiter-served breakfast which was good too.
Stateroom Quality
Giving this one 3/6 smiles: 0/0 for the first room and 3/3 for the second one. The first room was unacceptably shaky due to being on top of the engines (2nd deck, facing rear of ship). IMHO rooms in that entire row should not be sold due to vibrations/noise generated by the engines. Water wasn't choppy and it wasn't stormy, so the ship had to be causing it. Requested different room on 2nd day and was moved on the 3rd day after someone else confirmed their cancellation. The 2nd room (1st deck, near front of ship) was MUCH better, no vibrations, much quieter. Was compensated for our trouble, including bottle of champagne.
Ship Staff Quality
Almost all staff we encountered were friendly/smiling and always willing to help, save for having to endure a 2nd night of little sleep (ref Stateroom Quality above).
Entertainment & Activities
Much to choose from each day at sea and every night. Funny comedians (albeit "dirty" at adult-only shows).

Did a snorkeling trip via Orbitz; besides thinking we were going to miss the departure (their directions were unclear), we enjoyed the snorkeling at 2 locations and also the fresh guacamole and margaritas (beer was also offered).
George Town, Grand Cayman
Did the "Turtle Farm/Hell/Stingray" excursion via Carnival. The "Hell" stop was a bit hurried (only 15 mins) but interesting; the turtle farm was neat but also a bit hurried for what we saw (~30 mins); swimming with the stingrays was very enjoyable, and timing was spot-on. IMHO they should make this a two-stop excursion instead of squeezing in the 3rd just to have it in the offering.
Montego Bay, Jamaica
We did the Croyton Plantation excursion via Carnival and enjoyed the tour. The bus trip was a bit daunting given how Jamaicans in that area live/drive, but it was still fun for me. The various snacks/drinks were well-timed and delicious; lunch was also tasty and filling.

Had a great time
by Stephanie K from Denton, TX
Sailing date:

Pros:
There was tons to do
Cons:
The pools were small and full
The ship was great and the workers were wonderful. I felt like there was always something to do if I wanted to. There were tons of lawn chairs and always a space if you wanted one.
