Carnival Conquest out of Galveston by
Annie G. from Salt Lake City, UT Sailing date: Apr 2010Pros: amenities and ship layout/convenience of elevators Cons: pool area not very large, not enough deck chairs The ship was clean and in good condition. The layout was convenient and elevators were quick and accessible. The pool area was small and not very conducive to lounging around the pool. Ship QualityIn great condition, clean and accessible Dining/FoodBuffet food was mediocre. Pizza was great. Dining room meals were flavorful and offered great variety. Stateroom QualityWe packed 4 ppl in a stateroom and were pleased with how we all fit. Only one power outlet which was a challenge. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Ship Staff QualityI was so impressed with the staff friendliness. There was plenty of staff everywhere. The second a dirty tray was left, a staff member cleaned it up. Garbage was quickly removed from all areas. Entertainment & ActivitiesOf the few shows we saw, they were great. The magic show was spectacular! Children's ProgramsWe could barely get our kids out of Camp Carnival! They loved it! The staff was wonderful and flexible. I even started missing the kids towards the end of the cruise. It was great to have Camp Carnival provide dinner as it gave us the option to dine without a spastic 8 year old. One thing to note - the kids camp does some very late night programs. This is great for ppl that want to stay up. We like to retire early and rise early. It was difficult to have the kids not participate in these activities as their friends were. 8 out of 9 people found this review helpful.

An absolutely enjoyable amazing cruise by
Paula H from North Kingstown, Rhode Island Sailing date: Jan 2010Pros: Beautiful clean ship, great entertainment, marvelous service Cons: Departing a large ship takes time. Long walk from stateroom to dining room but good exercise. Recently we sailed on the Carnival Conquest. We have sailed with Carnival previously but this was an amazing ship, larger than expected or previously cruised on. Your representative helped set us up in a great stateroom at a great price with no problems. Thank you. The ocean view suite with the balcony was perfect for 3 people sharing and very comfortable with lots of closet and drawer space for all. My husband will never sail without a balcony ever again. The shows were fantastic with Las Vegas style singing and dancing and costumes were marvelous. The juggler, ventrilaquist, comic and Motown show enjoyable. We enjoyed the activities aboard, lots of trivia contests and many other venues that made the time at sea fun. We loved the fact that the ship had an adults only pool and hot tub atea. Relaxing and quiet. All staff from room stewards to dining room, to cruise director and staff were wonderful, helpful, knowledgeable and always smiling and ready to help. Tours were fun and tour guides knowledgeagble. All in all, with your help, we had a memorable trip long to ge remembered. We definitely will ge sailing again in the future. Thanks again. Ship QualityClean throughout the entire ship Dining/Food
Stateroom QualityBeautiful, plenty of room for 3 sharing, comfortagle and balcony wonderful and enjoyed. Ship Staff QualityAbsolutely above and beyond Entertainment & ActivitiesFar superior to what was expected. Plenty of activities to keep you busy for days at sea. 7 out of 7 people found this review helpful.

  Great cruise by
Paul L. from Spring, Texas Sailing date: Aug 2009Pros: relaxation Cons: Dinner timing. We would rather have had an earlier dinner seating should have had better security on each floor. children were romping throughout each floor and running wild from 6pm to midnight. Ship Qualityneeds better lighting on signs and directions. we kept getting lost. Dining/Foodespecially the service. Stateroom Qualitycouldn't be better Ship Staff Qualityoverall good. only one incident. the matri-d closed the door on my neices face two minutes before opening the dining room while we were waiting on line to dine. I thought that was petty. Entertainment & Activitiesespecially the two singers in front of the open bar.

Cozumel, MexicoRough trip to Playa del Carmen.
It was beautiful, but the tender to Playa del Carmen was VERY rough. Don't let that stop anyone from taking it, just get some motion sickness medicine beforehand.
Don't Miss: The Mayan Ruins. George Town, Grand Cayman

Awful, Miserable, & Borderline Inhumane by
Robin P from Richardson, TX Sailing date: Sep 2010Pros: Seated dinner was good and waitstaff was wonderful Cons: Everything else My husband, myself, my elderly mother, and my 18-month-old son took a seven-night cruise to the Western Carribean. We were only allowed off the ship for 10 hours in eight days. Our trip encountered a tropical storm, but, unlike the other Carnival ship, went straight through the storm instead of re-routing. I spent three days stuck in a cabin with a sick mother and baby. The lazzez faire attitude of the staff to people's suffering was appalling. Our family hadn't been on a vacation for three years, and, when I think of all the money we spent to suffer so badly, I really want to cry. Ship QualityThe only positive thing I will say is they did clean the cabins twice a day, which is very good thing when people are sick. Every time we took a shower, our whole bathroom flooded. Dining/FoodThe food in the dining rooms was very good, and the waitstaff in the dining rooms was exceptional. Stateroom QualityOur bathroom flooded every time we showered. The only positive is that the beds were comfortable. Ship Staff QualityThe waitstaff was excellent. The staff in the infirmary and the kids' club was borderline mean. Entertainment & ActivitiesIt's the same thing everyday, and, after two days, we'd had enough. After eight days, we were just mad. Children's ProgramsThe staff in the kids' club is awful, at least to the under two's. Don't put your babies in there without supervision. 7 out of 9 people found this review helpful.

  The perfect vacation! by
Krista from Central Texas Sailing date: May 2011Pros: The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Food was great! Cons: Drinks are very, very expensive but that is typical of any cruise. My husband and I took this cruise in order to have a relaxing vacation, and it certainly fit the bill. We had a wonderful trip on board a clean, comfortable, superbly-crewed vessel and enjoyed every minute. Ship QualityThe ship was clean and well-maintained. Dining/FoodThe food was excellent. The drinks were overpriced, but that's to be expected. Stateroom QualityWe had an inside stateroom on the Empress Deck (7). It was very clean, enough room for my husband and myself without issue. Plenty of storage, particularly considering the inherently small size of any non-suite stateroom. Ship Staff QualityThe staff was knowledgeable and exceedingly friendly, which was a nice change from previous cruises I've been on - members of the Conquest crew always went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, always saying hello with a friendly smile. They were cheerful even in the middle of the night. Service was always quick and efficient. Entertainment & ActivitiesI wasn't all that impressed with the quality of the musical-type shows performed by the singers/dancers on board, but the costumes were beautiful. The comedy acts were very fun, though - I went to several of both the "family-friendly" and "adults only" shows and they were all hilarious.

Cozumel, MexicoBeautiful, clear water. Plenty of shops within easy walking distance, lots of reasonably priced shopping and friendly people. If you have the chance to get out to Punta Sur National Park, it is worth the 20-minute drive to see the Mayan ruins and get in some high-quality snorkeling along the reef.
George Town, Grand CaymanWonderful, clean, beautiful. We visited the turtle farm, which was a lot of fun and included snorkeling in a man-made lagoon. The Bernard Passman Gallery is an absolute must if you are interested in black coral jewelry, and there is plenty of quality shopping within walking distance of the pier.
Don't Miss: Boatswain's Beach Adventure Park & Turtle Farm Montego Bay, JamaicaWe should have gone on a shore excursion. The port is not close enough to walk anywhere, so we paid $30 for a "convenient" hop-on, hop-off shuttle. However, once we got dropped off we had to wait well over 1/2 hour in the extreme heat and humidity for another shuttle to show up, and then it didn't show up where it was supposed to, we just happened to see it. The shuttles weren't well labeled and it wasn't well organized. I wouldn't again attempt to do this port without being signed up for a shore excursion, it isn't really pedestrian-friendly for tourists.

I was not impressed over all by
A Traveler from tx Sailing date: Dec 2010Pros: room service Cons: dinning First of all the room was right above a lounge and it was so load that our whole room shook and sleeping was impossible. So at the end of the next day they moved us and said we would be compensated for the bad room but they never did it. The service in the rooms was good but to eat dinner was lines and more lines and bad wait times, they should take lessons from Norwegian Cruise Lines they have no lines for food. Most of the service was good but unless it is way cheap I wont cruise with then again. This was the 2nd time with them and I was not impressed over all. Ship Quality

Carnival Cruise Lines - For the Bargain by
Renee from Texas Sailing date: Aug 2006Pros: The 24 hour Pizza parlour. Yummy! My son loved that. While the service is outstanding, the overall quality is just okay. I booked Carnival because I was looking for a bargain and that is what I got. I think that if you are looking for a great family vacation with varying ages to please, it's the way to go. If you want an luxury cruise that does not include crude, drunken behavior, use another cruise line. Entertainment & ActivitiesActivities: Some of the onboard staff that directed the cruise activities did not have good people skills and sometimes make an activity tedious or uncomfortable. There was a nice variety of choices for me and my 18 year old son.
Entertainment: I'm harder to please than your average passenger. I am actively involved in both performing and seeing as many shows as possible in my area. 4 out of 4 people found this review helpful.
