Very enjoyable cruise by Judy P from Westchester NY
Sailing date: Feb 2012

Pros:
The food was much better than I was expecting and shows and events were entertaining. Our suite was fabulous. Service was excellent, all the employees were friendly and courteous.

Cons:
Nothing really.

Everything was better than I expected. Had heard that Carnival cruises were not that great, but pretty much everything was wonderful. I live in NY and go to many fine restaurants and the food was consistently very very good and creative, considering the number of meals they have to serve. The staff was very friendly and courteous through out the ship. Suite was really nice and spacious with granite throughout room and bathroom. My teenage son had a good time on the O2 club also. Very impressed as a first time cruiser.

Fun for kids, Expensive for adults. by Abigail from Arcadia, CA
Sailing date: Feb 2007

Pros:
Cabin, Casino.

We had a fun time, the drinks were rather expensive, but overall, we would rather fly to the detinations instead of the cruise.

Awesome for families with small children by Tami from Plano, TX
Sailing date: Mar 2007

Pros:
The FUN CLUB for kids!! They also take excellent pictures during formal nights.

We loved being able to drop off our son at the "Fun Club" every morning; and he loved it as well. We would also drop him off for/after dinner until 9 pm or so most nights. He was asking to go back to the "play area" once we were off the ship. My husband and I loved having some time on the islands with and without our son. We went to a Water Park in Puerto Vallarta and Whale Watching in Cabos San Lucas. There is so much to do in Cabos. Take advantage of every moment that you are there.

Carnival Pride: a really fun time! by Mary Jo P. from Washington, DC
Sailing date: May 2010

Pros:
Outstanding food, excellent service, great ship

Cons:
Too few organized activities were offered outdoors, on deck

We had a great time on the Carnival Pride cruise from Baltimore to the Bahamas. The food and service were exceptional. The Pride is a perfect size for a fun cruise and is very well maintained. We opted for a balcony stateroom in the back of the ship which allowed us to sit outdoors without too much wind--I'd highly recommend the private balcony option as it makes your space onboard seem roomier overall. I would only wish for a change in itinerary. The Cocoa Beach stop was fine, but I'd have preferred an entire day in Freeport and a half day in Nassau (the current package offers it in reverse) Nassau is a rough place, its public beaches are nasty, and its shops and pubs close at 5 PM, so staying there until 9:30 wasn't worth it. Freeport was more in keeping with what one sees in TV and print ads of the Bahamas--nice beaches, shops, and restaurants in which you feel far safer as a tourist than you do in Nassau.

Ship Quality
The ship was well decorated for fun, Renaissance-style. It was extremely clean and well maintained and pretty much perfect in size, although the swimming pools could have been larger.

Dining/Food
The menu options were well varied and all of the food was quite fresh and surprisingly well prepared. Buffet options offered something for everyone at all hours. Ambiance in the main dining room was elegant, making it perfect for the many passengers who view ship dining as a dress-up affair.

Stateroom Quality
The stateroom was just right, although I should add that we opted for one with a private balcony. This offered a fine view from the two glass doors and an inviting place to unwind while wearing one of the ship's fluffy spa robes while sipping a glass of wine before dinner or coffee in the morning. Amenities included two night stands, a flat screen TV, plenty of closet and storage space, a decent sized bathroom and excellent lighting. The balconies seemed to collect debris from deck construction work and could have been cleaned more often.

Ship Staff Quality
Service was outstanding. The staff was always friendly and accommodating, especially the dining servers who worked double-duty, waiting tables at night and assisting with the buffet lines by day. Our servers went out of their way to acknowledge us whenever we spotted them while out and about and honored all of our special requests--for extra rice, salad, etc. One night, our server offered us a second lobster tail, without our even asking. Our chambermaid service was excellent--they cleaned the room and refreshed the towels twice daily and also brought fresh ice each evening.

Entertainment & Activities
The Pride singers and dancers were fair; they offered outdated songs and dance styles and they relied too heavily on one male soloist, who wasn't strong enough to carry such a load. The cast lacked racial diversity, which made it seem very "last century." The MC was very good and the stand-up comic was great. Laser tag was a ton of fun, but games like the bean bag toss and bingo could have been offered outdoors on deck, rather than indoors in the middle of a sunny afternoon. Miniature golf and pingpong were fun, but we could have used a few more organized activities on deck.

"Great Vacation Choice" by Laverne H. from Byron, GA
Sailing date: Apr 2009

Pros:
Carefree vacationing. Lots of activities. Plenty to eat.

Cons:
The bars did not stock my preferences of alcoholic beverages.

My husband and I have cruised before but this was the best. This ship was larger than others we've been on. The staterooms were a bit smaller on this ship. Beautiful ship though. There was enough room for the two of us, but others travelling with us were booked three to a cabin and were a bit cramped. The entire cruise ship staff was friendly and professional. Our dining room waiters were the best. We wanted to take them home with us. They were so nice and fun to be around. We all looked forward to seeing them each evening. It was like they became a part of our family. We had a very memorable time.

Sailing date: May 2009

Pros:
Excellent Service, clean ship, lots to do!

Cons:
would have like to have more comedy routines

The Carnival Pride is a great ship! There are lots of things to do like swimming, work out, many different types of bars and entertainment. The food was great. The crew was fantastic, helpful and readily available.

Wonderful Cruise by Jo B from Mississippi
Sailing date: Apr 2009

Pros:
Opening Show. The artwork around the ship. Food. Stateroom and stateroom attendant. Cruise Director.

Cons:
Crews disorgaization. Entertainment. Fixed dinner times

Overall the cruise was very nice. The food was extra good on this cruise. We were also able to dock at all ports, so no tendering was involved. This was a new itinerary for this ship which might have added to periods of crew disorganization.

No sleep = No fun by John H from Harrisburg PA
Sailing date: Jan 2013

Pros:
Inexpensive

Cons:
Being kept up until 1AM every night

Ship was nice enough appearance-wise. One big problem though: Our stateroom was located very close to a bar that had a live rock band playing until 1AM almost every night. Being kept awake by the musical stylings of Journey and Skynard night after night, coupled with the staff dragging furniture around (HONNNNNNKKKK) at 6AM pretty well ruined the trip. I've never had a problem like this on other cruise lines. The layout of the common/entertainment areas and/or the sound insulation is terrible. The guest services desk offered us complimentary earplugs which did nothing, and later offered to refund 20% of our cruise price. That helps, but I would have much preferred to pay the price that I agreed to and get a decent night of sleep. We really missed out on doing much of anything fun in port becuase we were both exhausted. Another minor beef: Carnival automatically applies the customary tip amounts to your on-board card account. This is done on the second day of the cruise, so at that point, how do I really know if anybody deserves a better (or not so great) tip? Secondly, how do I know if the people serving me are getting that tip or if the cruise line is taking a big chunk of it? I much prefer to hand them cash at the end of the week.

Mediocre. The main theatre exclusively featured the "carnival pride dancers" which wasn't really my thing. Comedians in the comedy club were OK. Kind of missed the variety acts that other cruise lines feature - magicians, ventriloquist, etc.

Service on the boat was great other than food related services. Food was not very good room service was delivered cold and it was slow to arrive. The lines to get food or drinks were long and slow. Went with a large group of 10 people to eat at the main dinning hall was over an hour and half wait. Steak house is a can't miss item on the ship.
